what do you think about logo re-branding, or Bitcoin need a symbol and does not need a logo, since it is a decentralized currency, not a brand?
since bitcoin is decentralized and it is not a company, organization, brand,... it also doesn't have a logo or brand. there are designs that are more popular than others but each project pretty much uses their own logo.

There are some platforms still use the first BTC logo on their sites.

If you consider the change of color from that version to the current popular version, purely in orrange, it is a big change and I like it, simple and neat, easy to recognize. It fits with the trend of simplify logo desgins from colorful to single color or as less colors as possible.

You can look at the long history and changes of Apple's logo. Their current version is simple and perfect.

I have not seen any reason enough to change the logo, the colours not bad, "golden yellow" and gold color is an indication of something valuable.the circle is already a coin and the B is the bitcoin. Anyway, if the logo be change it would have an effect on the value of the coin and any adjust is sure to be for a better. The only constant thing in life is "change" itself. It's not even about how famous & accepted the logo gas been.

so far the bitcoin logo is fine, and this has never damaged the image of bitcoin in the eyes of the public. In my opinion, if the bitcoin logo is replaced with a new one, it is the same as making bitcoin a baby again (because there must be a reintroduction) and confusing people, especially those who are just entering the world of crypto. let bitcoin be like this, the logo is not important, the most important thing is how to improve bitcoin blockchain technology to make it better and easier to use.

The strength in the code and the extent to which people use it, and there is no need to focus on logo, as it will not change anything in the nature of the investment.
Many altcoin try to resemble the dollar and choose names and logos close to it to obtain some adoption, which indicates that these currencies have no value.

I read some old topics about it and people add more discussion about it. you can find that the old one was BC logo.

There's no need to change either the logo or the symbol of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is not yet very familiar to a lot of people, and rebranding won't help argue for Bitcoin or promote its adoption. It might only confuse others.

You change the logo, you might appear to be promoting some Bitcoin wannabe shitcoin. We need to realize that there's way too many Bitcoin shitcoins out there ready to confuse Bitcoin newcomers with the help of a slightly different logo.

NO
This one is enough and no need to rebranding or renews the logo.
This logo has its own characteristic, history, and also brand.
If we are going to rebrand or renew the logo, who will be responsible for it? Logo contest? Or others?

There is no need to rebrand, this one is the best one, simple and meaningful.

I liked the history of the Bitcoin logo design. We should feel lucky to believe in the project and continue to support it. I feel more and more committed to sharing with people who do not know about Bitcoin and teaching them to use it so that they can see how useful it can be in their lives. I also agree that the logo is fine with its current design. It is a brand / symbol that is known around the world.

We don't have to take the decentralized characteristics of bitcoin to the point that the logo should be rebranded.

Changing it will just result in continuous modification while its progress.

I see no big reason why a change should be made. The rebranding will just make people think that bitcoin is run by an authorized body.

The question is why we need a new logo/symbol for Bitcoin? People have no problem with the current logo/symbol, even people seem to like the uniqueness of the current logo/symbol. In my opinion, if we change it to the new one, we instead get rid of its distinction/specialty. In addition, the logo/symbol has been spread out around the world for years, people are familiar with the current one.

*Note: Having a new one won't add any big value, neither to make Bitcoin adoption faster.

Unless if Satoshi comes out and did suggest about on the new Logo then that would be the time, people would really consider out. No one beats the creator itself. LOL!
I also don't think it will happen. Even Satoshi Nakamoto comes out and suggest about that, it's only "suggestion" for sure.
Even he/she will do it, there will be some people will disagree and agree too. What I am seeing or being observed about this Bitcoin logo is some people especially those pioneers on Bitcoin will NOT agree on changing the Bitcoin Logo.
There's a lot more problem other than Bitcoin logo, it is not priority for sure.

As mentioned in the article, the logo has been changed several times. Therefore, no need for further adjustment as it's not necessary.

During the early years, the development of the logo is a must since they are working with popularity.

With bitcoin's current popularity around the globe, changing the logo might bring other impressions.
It would indeed give out some impression but majority in the community wont really prefer on changing up Bitcoin logo. We are good on this one and in the poll indicates
that people are already contented on what we have now.It gain popularity into that form and theres no need for some alteration or changes once again.

the logo is clear.
BTC

the currency symbol is clear
BTC

nothing confusing about it.
if you want to play with something.
play with symbols for millibitcoin and microbitcoin(bits)
0.00100000 and 0.00000100 respectively
because soon enough no one will be playing with a whole bitcoin. much like no one plays with $1000 bank notes. so play around with the sub units if you want

Interesting.
I guess you could just change the logo to a flag (for the Decentralized Network), or we just call it a flag? People who don't like the flag could just call the logo something else (icon maybe?)

Symbol/sign should be used for the currency

What is wrong with the current logo which causes the urgency for rebranding?
Symbol or no symbol, It doesn't matter. Just like it hasn't mattered in the last decade.

I don't think changing the logo is even required. It's been there for close to 10 years, It's simple and precise, It stands out and It's the perfect representation for Bitcoin. All I see are just a few critics making noise about how they want the logo to look like.

Being a decentralized currency doesn't mean that every time someone makes a suggestion or an opinion to have something changed about bitcoin, then It has to be instantly changed. If this allowed, it will create more chaos.

The current BTC logo is already widespread and famous enough that most people will already know that it's Bitcoin's logo when they see that orange circle with the BTC. Changing it right now would most definitely just do damage on Bitcoin's logo. It's not like the orange circle logo is outdated or anything, it's actually timeless as it's pretty simple and straight-to-the-point.

Imho rebranding is not necessary and could do more bad than good.

There are already plenty of altcoins with slightly different logo and something (Cash, Diamond, ...) added to the name to confuse newcomers.
If even the original Bitcoin would change the logo, some websites will have the old one and some will have the new one, confusing newcomers even more, especially (as also written in the linked article) since the actual logo can be already seen in paid advertising.

did not saw the topic about bitcoin logo, as it is now defined, and this article provides history of bitcoin logo, created on this forum
since many members were not on the forum at that time (me included), it is a good article about history of the logo and getting to know better how the logo is created

what do you think about logo re-branding, or Bitcoin need a symbol and does not need a logo, since it is a decentralized currency, not a brand?
