Nothing seems a problem with bitcoin, right now ethereum has made a big growth. This makes people think that bitcoin might go down in value. But the reality is that more the growth experienced, more will be the competence and based on this always bitcoin stands first.

Yeah... I also don't understand the mad rise in Ethereum exchange rates. The number of users for that currency is much lower than that with Bitcoin. And in addition to that, every now and then new bugs are being discovered. Apart from the faster confirmations, there is nothing in Ethereum which justifies a market capitalization of $40 billion.
lol.  You don't understand?  I'll make it so easy a moron like you will get it.  Ethereum is a Swiss army knife, Bitcoin is a toothpick.  Ethereum market cap with be twice as high as Bitcoin by Jan 1, 2018.

Yeah... Keep dreaming. You want Ethereum to look like a Swiss army knife. But in reality, it is a cheap replica which doesn't have the same quality. Do you know how many bugs have been found with Ethereum lately? And what about the Ether robbery from the DAO? First they need to take care of their own issues, before taking on BTC.

Now I have another theory, LTC has 2 minutes block time and has a very low transaction fee but why no body showing any interest? I might know why, they don't control LTC supply to be able to manipulate it.

I wouldn't say that no one is interested in Litecoin

It might have been true in the past when Litecoin had essentially been the same Bitcoin, Bitcoin copycat on juice, but since Bitcoin was (and still is) mostly used for speculation, low (or high) fees don't matter a lot at the large scale. Now that Litecoin has SW and LN when Bitcoin faces potential chain split, a lot more people may finally get interested in this coin. So if people turn away from Bitcoin for whatever reason, they will most likely end up with Litecoin
Litecoin has already had a really good run and I'm also kinda positive about the fact that the price hasn't risen in a way that screams bubble, now it's sitting fairly stable at around $25 - $30.
If you check out what's still planned for development, you'll see that there are still a lot of features that are going to be added.

You can check out the 2017 roadmap for Litecoin here:
https://litecoincore.org/

Thanks for the link

So far Litecoin has been tightly following Bitcoin, minor aberrations and discrepancies aside. I'm closely watching Litecoin prices and waiting for a sort of "tipping point", i.e. when Litecoin gets completely decoupled from Bitcoin (we are not there yet). That's when, for example, Bitcoin price crashes massively while Litecoin mostly remains at the same level or even rises. The latter case, if consistent, would likely mean that people dump Bitcoin and move to Litecoin

That may be true. But I do not believe Ethereum will last long. Sooner or later the price has to go down just because that's what the market is doing.

Now the growth of ETH is growing rapidly, it will become competence. And based on this always bitcoin stands first.

But look at the current transaction fees. If the problem in transaction costs will not be solved then maybe it will happen quickly

The basic issue remains. The number of unconfirmed transactions might have decreased, but as the user-base expands, this issue can once again become active. And other crypto-currencies such as Ethereum and Ripple are making the maximum advantage out of this situation. The future looks bleak. We may never have a consensus, and the situation will remain in a state of suspended animation.

ethereum has risen fast this weeks . i think ethereum will be no. 1 soon. market fluctuates too high although it has some severe crushes . the real question is who will be the next coin that will be no.1 for a long time. still bitcoin hold that record.

Everyone compete each other to seeking the best cryptocurrency that ever made.
It's possible if someday bitcoin can be beaten so it's only matter of time before it can happen

ETH has potential, that is true but O don't beleive that it will take the number one place among cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is very established and accepted so far and despite the issues he faces still has no serious competition, especialy regarding to value and implementation in real life.

I really think ETH is going to take the number one spot, ETH is slowly growing, it's just a matter of time. Bitcoin is way older than ETH, Only if ETH was older than BTC, we would have been saying a different story now
But i do not think so. because etherium is still too much fare away from bitcoin, bitcoin is still becoming more stronger, the popularity of bitcoin is still increasing, because moe and more people are  entering in the world of bitcon which is making bitcoin more stronter.

I thought for sure it would take until the end of 2018 but it looks like this summer ethereum might pass it up. With the turmoil around BTC potential splitting, it might be very soon. IMO this is healthy, we will always value bitcoin for being the one that started it all, but it's time for a more dynamic and adaptable currency to take the lead.

ethereum passing bitcoin lol when? ethereum is still at 0.1 and dash also went to 0.1 but it didn't pass bitcoin, it was dumped after that, it will be the same for ethereum, there was never a coin that matched bitcoin 1:1 and i think never will be

I think ethereum cant even pass the bitcoin behind.Because bitcoin has already reached many people more than the ethereum and the bitcoins popularity is way much higher that that. The fact that bitcoin is very powerful makes it more impossble for the ethereum to pass it behind.

That might be true. But I do not believe Ethereum will be able to hold their gains for long. Sooner or later the price has to go down simply because that is what markets do.

So always remind yourself not to get lost in the mania and try to stay objective. In a market like this, it is easy to think that the good days will never end.

Ethereum is under a massive bubble due the ongoing ICO frenzy where everyone wants to buy into the next %1000+ performer. They all need ETH to buy into those ICOs. The Bancor ICO is today so it's clear that this is helping into keeping ETH on the green while BTC dips and so do the rest of alts.

So this is going to be a crypto war between ETH and bitcoin, what ever it is ,it will take a really long time to catch up with bitcoin as it needs to increase five times with the current value of ETH,lets see how things go and when it will catch up Cheesy

Please, don't think only about price.
We should also check other factors like how many merchants accepts certain crypto currency,  how much there is ATM and debit cards for this crypto currency etc.
When everything is taken into account, bitcoin is still number one for a long time, and all other crypto currencies are still far away.
Of course, things on Internet can change very quickly, so if bitcoin don't solve current issue with very long confirmation time and high transaction fees, we may see another winner in a few years.

if bitcoin is getting to more expensive than now and bitcoin is only for exchanging from bitcoin to fiat or altcoin to bitcoin, then maybe eth will take the number one spot for altcoin and eth will replace the function of bitcoin. but we don't know what will happen in future and we only followed the crypto currency world so i think we can waiting that time is come and we can see what will happen. i think its not because eth is younger than bitcoin, but its about the history of cryptocurrency itself.

It is true that litecoin is the only coin that is yet to see a good rally, almost all of the coins have risen throughout the past few months and litecoin is yet to have a good rally that could break its all time record, even i am positive that it will catch up in the future.

Yes, It's possible. Last couple of days the progress of ETH so impressive. Not only you every bitcoin holders stated that ETH will be the next Bitcoin. Seems like digital currencies have another big winner now, Ethereum surely it’s more than just good news for early investors.
