I am the one who is hodling 50% of the Bitcoins and try to spend rest of the 50% and my logic is simple, I want to help in maintaining the momentum and contribute to the growth of the network. Thus, I try to spend as much as Bitcoins of my 50% quota of expenditure. However, to be honest, I haven't spent even a single Satoshi in the offline market as I don't have any merchant accepting Bitcoin as a payment method around me.

I am not sure if this is a misconception or not but it feels special when I pay using Bitcoin as a payment method on the sites where Bitcoin is accepted.

I agree with you some are living daily jobs just to focused on signature campaigns.Making it as priority and only source of income instead of alternative source so they could hold it for the future to earn more profit .Some also rely their dreams only through bitcoin. It could be possible but we must also be ready to deal with failures just like the volatility of bitcoin there's also a probality that our dreams will be volatile too when our only source is bitcoin. So it's better to learn and be updated all the time,do our own research and not to trust right away.If there's a decent job then give a good service while working with bitcoin at the same time. It's just like hitting one bird with two stones- reaching your dreams through hardwork and with bitcoin.

I came across several threads on the forums about bitcoin as their source of income, people leaving their day jobs just to focus on campaigns here in the forum.

Why most of the people in the forum sees bitcoin as currency that you need to spend everyday? On my opinion at this point of time for bitcoin it is better to consider it as an asset, an investment that if you keep it there is a big chance that your investment will grow. Think of its future potential, at this time each coin cost $5600+ when maybe about 100 million people who is using it. imagine what will the price be if 1 billion people uses it in the future how much will the price be? And this also applies to alt coins. As much as possible keep you coins and wait for the price to boom.

I need to point us to the fact that bitcoin apart from being used as asset,  we can use it as a source of generating income to either dive into another businesses. Things are difficult to come by these days and so,  if we have a source like bitcoin, we can use the income or earnings from signature campaigns to either invest in altcoins or trade to see if we can be lucky to have more of the fractions.

It actually depends on how people perceive things, yes there are people that use bitcoin as an asset, well maybe they have a lot of money that's why they don't need to spend their bitcoin but there are some people that really depends on what bitcoin can give that's why even they don't want to spend their coins they still did and there's nothing wrong with that. Some divert their earnings to fiat and put some ventures so they can have a back up when things turned out unfavorably. Bitcoin is an asset and a currency as well.

There are category of both people who uses bitcoin on daily basis and those who are holding it for future benefits.  Most of them prefer to hold their bitcoins because the current scenario of bitcoin market suggests the best time for holding it as the market value is increasing day by day . Those who use it for daily basis are obviously are the people who made bitcoin their only source of income so its pretty obvious that they will use it to pay their expenses.

It's true if you had established mining rigs in the early days and still mining bitcoins, literally passive income and were millionaires if they had seriously maintained it. Campaigns here is just some tip-bits for small players like us that had the extra passion and reward to stay active while contributing within the community.

I'm the exact same position regarding bitcoin as investments, i simply don't transact my bitcoins for businesses rather than into alt exchanges or similar bitcoin projects that accept it. Billions of people using, that would be surprising it's current price and it needs to grow naturally to reach else it's not possible from current trends, alts are truly gem and are equivalently to 'penny shares' in real world which had real potentials to reach maybe realistically 20% of bitcoin price, ETH is the perfect example among 1200+ alts

I also noticed that kind of mindset . Depending only here in forum to get money through campaigning like why don't we work and get this forum as an part time also for newbies to get their chances to earn money. i also noticed the low number of signature campaigns accommodating member below for them to try working even on low rates to practice their skills.

Why most of the people in the forum sees bitcoin as currency that you need to spend everyday?
You cant blame them. Campaigns here in forum is so promising that they can earn more than their day job offers. And most of the people in the community are freelancers that seeks job and will spend what they are earning here to sustain daily needs and house utilities.
Most users here, including myself is the kind that you are talking about. Currently, I earn through joining signature campaigns and so far, it had been a very great help not just for me, but for my family. I think earning here through sig campaigns is not a misconception but a benefit of joining bitcoin. In my case I am a stay at home mom, and I used bitcoin as a way to pay for our bills and other household expenses. I agree. You can't blame us. Smiley
For all those people who just say false things related to bitcoin, I have one piece of advice for them. It is better to experience and do some research of your own instead of just blindly trusting everyone. This world is full of deceptions and it is the reason why we must consider using our own brains as a serious obligation.Participating in a signature campaign is one of the best methods of earning bitcoin and far better than all field jobs.
Yes blind trust is so dangerous we should do some research on bit coin then we will be able to say something. You are also right that participation in bit coin signature campaigns is a good and easy way of earning money rather to go far from your kids and to follow the strict schedule over there.
That is correct and logical point. Putting too much trust or being over-confidence will always bring not so good results. One should always remain skeptic and ask questions. Many People have put blind faith in the bitcoin. It is the law of nature that initial growth period is dynamic compared to later part. Bitcoin is in dynamic phase.
However we need to understand one thing for sure and that is bitcoin is new concept first of its kind. Bitcoin is the first successful coin which proved that a decentralized payment system could work. Thus we donot know how to measure its performance and how it will evolve in future. This gives a lot of room for people to come with crazy theories about the growth of bitcoin.

Yes, that is true we can use our job right here to get more income that can support our daily lives. May be in the past few years ago bitcoin price is still affordable for many of us here. But recently, about the huge price there is so many downstream, people seldom bought coin again from the investment and there is also seldom gambler that want to spend their coin again  randomly on any gambling site. All of these things is because of the recent bitcoin price, this is what I believe

Some people use money to invest in bitcoin long term, while others short it and use the money to invest in other solid investments for the long term.
I think bitcoin is not suitable for long-term investment, because we can use it to make short-term investments, and the returns are much higher than long-term investments. other.
Well, it depends on a person how he manage his bitcoin because when you invest you can have it as a short term or long term investment. It's a win win situation where he think he can gain profit, both actually is a profitable. Even holding for a long term is also good because btc price is increasing high.

Well there has been a lot of misconceptions about Bitcoin, especially if you do not understand why Bitcoin was made in the first place, Bitcoin was made in order to have an alternative currency after the 2008 depression, people where looking to find new ways on how they could earn, then came out Bitcoin and the value was below 1 USD, which grew over time,  and most people who do not understand investment, will always say it is just meant for criminals since it is anonymous in transactions. Another misconception is Bitcoin is a scam and only one person is really earning, sad t say, those people just keep on talking without doing any research, and lastly the misconception I always hear is that, Bitcoin doesn't have real value, if it doesn't have any value, why would people pay to buy Bitcoin and invest on it. What I think is that misconceptions can be battled, if one has an open mind and is willing to learn and study investments and Bitcoin, I think they needed to see our side, instead of them having misconceptions, without even researching or trying to put themselves in our shoes.

Most people are doing what is stated in OP. Almost every hodler is using Bitcoin as an investment asset because of inbuilt deflation. But using it as currency is also important for increasing its utility which will help in increasing the demand and hence the price. You can't kill Bitcoin's currency use and be profitable in investment.

Price of bitcoins are rising and thus people are thinking it will keep on rising forever. This may be right or wrong but one should trade only by knowing the right time and his/her capabilities.
The most common misconception which is resisting so many people from investing in bitcoin is that it is never going to take place of paper money. This is something really hard to comment on. There are likely chances of this thing to happen and there are likely chances that soon bitcoin will be declared as legal. In fact, there are so many countries which have declared it as legal.

There are so many misconceptions about bit coin but I am sure they sit in front of their computers then all their misconception will be cleared and they will be able to invest and trade in it. The legalization of bit coin is big question on bit coin but now a days bit coin has been legalized in most of the countries like USA and Japan.

Personally, I see bitcoin as a speculative asset, and I treat it as such. But if you are relying on signature campaigns to be your regular income then its not the correct mindset. How can you do that if you are just getting dust amounts every week as compare to have a regular high paying job? I really don't understand people doing that and moving out of their current job just to focus on campaign. Although there are times that I exchange it to fiat if there's a need on my end, I usually just hold it for my future and maybe when it reaches high enough for me to sell, then I will make such decisions in the future.

BTC became more popular as an investment tool than a currency nowadays. It can be considered as an asset but the best part is unlike other assets like real estate or gold, it is comparatively easy to sell.

You cant stop those people on what would be the thing they would able to do with their own lives. You do treat up bitcoin as an asset but some people would really treat it as a currency or a source of income.I dont know that it is possible to make living on just joining campaigns come to think up it do only give a small amount which cant even sustain your daily needs but well they do able to say such thing because they can able to make use of it.
Price increase on future years is really possible since adoption still isnt on its fullest.
