You have made the right decision because you prefer to invest in bitcoin rather than shopping for clothes, even though the amount you invest is not very large but at least bitcoin can provide x2, x3 or x5 returns in the future from the initial capital you invested, maybe only few people would be willing to invest with bonus funds because most of us would usually use the bonus funds to have fun with work relatives.

Op, you have done your best for the future. Your satisfaction in giving bitcoins as a gift for yourself is unthinkable to your friends and some users of this forum. You are one step ahead of your friends, holding off the desire for better results. You have missed it well, your patience will give satisfaction when you spend money to buy items that were delayed from the profits you made when selling Bitcoins.
Hope the best for you.

-snip-

I think the OP shouldn't be restricted from thinking of gifts with numerical value in any celebration, there are several momentum value gift options that won't get worn out if the OP finds them too valuable to pay for.
I also don't understand why bitcoin prizes have to be made special gifts for ourself as long as it can be obtained on many occasions other than celebration days, especially since buying bitcoins is a routine thing (for signature of participants).

Life is short, years of youth are even shorter, so it's important to enjoy it all why you can. The point of life is not hoarding Bitcoin or some other asset, but living life to its fullest. Besides, Bitcoin isn't a money printing machine. There's no guarantee that it will keep going up. Worst case scenario is you deny yourself things that can improve your life and then lose money on top of that.

To become rich you don't only need to invest and cut spendings, but also earn more money through work.

Great words. There is only one life, and you should always pamper yourself. We don't know what might happen to us tomorrow. Therefore, the eternal pursuit of money may, at some point, not bring joy. I am on the side of your friends. They are happy, and I think they feel cool, which means they were able to give themselves a holiday.
Time will tell what happens next. I wish OP a happy holiday too, but sometimes you need to be able to do this not for the future but to rejoice with everyone.
Merry Christmas!

That's probably better. If you don't really need to buy another shirt or a new pair of shoes, why would you, right? Perhaps it's better to just spend that money elsewhere. Bitcoin is indeed a good option. Not to mention that the price of Bitcoin is also like having a Christmas or holiday sale. It is cheaper this season.

By the way, are your friends/colleagues not aware of Bitcoin yet? Haven't you orange-pilled them yet? If you will, none of you might go shopping by next Christmas. LOL!

Money, Bitcoin, wealth, wants, necessity, needs ..... whatever, nothing, I repeat, NOTHING last forever. Even life itself is limited that at some point, we all have to rest from the strain, uhhhhh and the good tidings, legacies and everything is the only thing Left to remember us, DON'T BE INDECISIVE.
Christmas is a season of Joy,love, happiness, good tidings, blessings and, what have you? If it were necessary to get yourself something that could make you look good and happy, then you shoulda gotten that (since you're not gonna get them clothes, shoes and pants everyday, it's just a yearly stuff, as much as I could understand) you could get HODL 'em coin as much as you want when the time is right; you ain't gonna starve your ass just to HODL BTC,are you??
Doing alot, doesn't mean we're getting alot more done.

That's one of the best presents that you can give yourself. Soon, that patience and delayed gratification that you're experiencing right now will materialize and you'll be able to buy those fancy shirts and any gifts that you want from the profit that you'll make from having that bitcoin purchase.
It's a good idea that you reinvest the bonus that you've got, those material things are just there and you can buy them anytime that you want but the time and the chances that we've got right now, they come not often.

...

My colleagues bought some fine shoes and other expensive items/ wears for themselves and every one of them was expecting me to do some picking myself because we all agreed to go on group shopping but on our way to the market I already have a rethink and a change of mind.

did your friends buy shoes and some clothes to wear on Christmas and New Year's Day and you all promised to do that together? I think your all friendship is quite strong. and it's your right to change your mind and not do the same with them.

I decided to spend my money buying myself some Christmas gifts which is Bitcoin instead of buying some expensive clothes or shoes I decide to carry the digital BTC  in my wallet, instead of wearing shit that will soon get worn out.

I support your decision! if you still have clothes or shoes that you can wear, of course, it is useless if you spend your money to buy it all and your decision is very right (preferably investing in bitcoin rather than items that will be obsolete).

Op, you are one step ahead of your friends who buy nice shoes and things. Your decision to buy bitcoin is certainly a consideration for you. Bitcoin will be your long term investment. you can sell it at Christmas next year and it will likely be worth more than its current price. But are you spending all your money on bitcoins, a good suggestion for you is to set aside some of your cash to buy things you like? Remember that this Christmas is a happy Christmas for you. Invest in bitcoins and own things you love.

OP you have sacrificed part of your basic needs to buy bitcoin, this shows how important you care about your future, and how much you can sacrifice to have a digital asset like bitcoin that will surely make you happy soon. As for me I love looking good all the time,I would have still bought one or two wears and use the rest to purchase bitcoin since we cannot do without our basic needs.

Your friends have you explained to them why you didn't shop with them or have you given them bitcoin awareness ? If I were one of your friends I will want to know why the change of mind after we have all agreed to go on group shopping, and you didn't buy something physical that I can see. This is a wise decision that you came up with before spending the money.

Good decision mate, one shot two birds down. I mean, you buy Bitcoin as a Christmas present for yourself while investing in the future. You resist spending money on clothes and shoes that you may have wanted for a long time. Your belief will definitely give you multiple profits when Bitcoin returns to its highest price, at that time you can spend money to buy expensive clothes and shoes from the profits you get. Meanwhile, the initial capital remains safe and you can buy Bitcoin again when the price is what you want.

On second thought,  I think you have misunderstood me and if going by the last paragraph of you comment which I quote above.

I believe having financial freedom gives more joy and satisfaction than buying things you already have, and the possibility you never get value for your money buying them.

Bitcoin for me is a form of saving and since bitcoin is not an easily spendable currency which makes saving in Bitcoin is easier and more sustainable, especially for the long-term base.

So I decided to put some smiles on my face this season by buying Bitcoin as a Christmas gift for myself.
yesterday I and my friend/colleagues went to a shopping market for some Christmas shopping we were 6 in number and we all went to the market after receiving our Christmas bonuses from work.

My colleagues bought some fine shoes and other expensive items/ wears for themselves and every one of them was expecting me to do some picking myself because we all agreed to go on group shopping but on our way to the market I already have a rethink and a change of mind.

Nice one to you bro. It will be also to see purchase or gift me bitcoin as Christmas gift  Grin. Bitcoin is really changing the world and i think its better we all follow the moving train and not stay from afar and criticize what we dont know. Me myself am also gathering some tangible fund which am planning to make a bitcoin purchase by the start of the new year and am hoping to go for a long term investment as i learnt in the forum that is way more preferable.
What you did is really good because understand that the a plan for a better future is wey better than spending some money on present enjoyment without any investment

you managed to use money wisely and I appreciate you as someone who can think ahead, not think only for now, such as buying clothes, shoes that are expensive to use only for now and have no value in the future. stuff like that will only be useless dirt in the next 5 years but you wisely choose to buy bitcoin which will obviously have a very expensive value in the future.
not many can think like you, because people's habits in life are just thinking about appearances without thinking about the future.
even though if we already have shoes and clothes etc. and can still be used, I don't think we need to buy new ones.

It's better to look normal but have a high-value future (bitcoin) than to look good but have no valuable future.

This is the best decision you have ever taken because i know those shoes are just what would like expire in less than 1 year or 2 years, trust me or not within the period of 2 to 3 years when you would be enjoying your profits those your friends would definitely calls you a bad name because you didn't advise them to do as same you did.

Goodluck and Merry Christmas, Wishing you all a prosperous new year ahead.

Nothing wrong with it.
There are some people who really are thinking about their future all the time and there are people who are thinking of the material things only.

For me, there is nothing wrong if you will buy material things but better to balance the 2. I mean you can buy some material things that you need but at the same time, you will still keep some money in order for you to buy Bitcoins or any investments out there.

Overall, I hope that you bought something important for yourself aside from Bitcoin like material things that you need, or you gave presents to other people because they always say that "sharing is caring".

You took the right step since it placed a smile on your face, that's what matters. Loving to invest is also great, it's a sign that you'll make a better manager. However, it would have been funnier if you got the bitcoin from the store or mall other than buying no single gift from there.  You can maintain this attitude even after the Christmas season and given time the little sats you're gathering will amount to some huge amounts. Like the Reply above that says; don't forget to enjoy this transient life while pursuing your bitcoin investment.

Well done OP. I am proud of you, I prefer people that are futuristic rather than being too focused on the present. It is all about being happy anyways. But of course, sometimes you should also reward yourself with something uncommon like a little more pricey than your regular attires. We can still be happy without wearing very expensive stuffs. This post reminded me that I haven't bought a present for myself this Christmas yet. I already purchased a small amount of bitcoin earlier this month so it won't count and it is also part of my monthly DCA on bitcoin.

When your friends buy what they want, you buy what you need. The choice of Bitcoin as a Christmas gift is very appropriate, you have not only made yourself happy in a different way but you have spent money in the right places. Celebrating Christmas while investing is really a brilliant idea, not many have ideas like you, make yourself happy by managing your finances well.
