It's really a good idea ? Because Bitcoin is not popular all around the world, we can not buy anything by Bitcoin apart from some brands. So, paying athletes by bitcoin is not proper. Can they go shopping or buy food by Bitcoin in supermarket, no. Therefore, I don't think Bitcoin can develop in sport industry.
That's sound good but I think it is not the first time Bitcoin has been in sport industry. However, using Bitcoin is paying wage for athletes also is the first time. Anyway, sport industry ( in my opinion ) is not good market for Bitcoin to develop. It's not really proper.
Soon, bitcoin will be seen everywhere, many sports will use bitcoin, and the mass adoption will grow. This news will bring some new investor to the crypto industry, and they will see that the digital currency exists among them. And the football has a big fan in the world, and this industry will grow, and with bitcoin inside them, this will change the sports business itself. I personally believe that this is a lot more important than it seems to be.
The acceptance of new technologies normally go in baby steps mode, since a lot of people resists to change instead of quickly adapting to it and for instance seeking ways to improve that change. When they start accepting Bitcoin for something means that there is potential for this to grow a lot more.
It might take time. However, accepting Bitcoin for tickets in Sports will probably happen just like everything else. It isn't that hard to do so. More tools needs to be created and more people using it, it's the only way it can happen a bit faster.
Bitcoin is only a prize for the best players from the 7 clubs that you say, that means Bitcoin is not used for commercial transactions in the premier league. I think that does not really affect the price of BTC, even I think that is just a marketing strategy from the relevant exchanger

Though the news is pretty good it is not the first time crypto is using in the sports section. If you research then you will find many international sports player involves with the cryptocurrency. A few months ago, there was an ICO, Cashbet. Some of Arsenal players were involved there! Not only football but also other sector's player is also involved in crypto!

But this is really good news for the crypto world! The more bitcoin will appear in such large organizations and communities, the more confidence it will have. It will be very interesting if in the near future the price will rise or fall and how it will affect directly the situation in these football clubs)
