Bitcoin isn't as anonymous as you think since bitcoin is only pseudonymous. If the authority knows your bitcoin address, they can use it to track your bitcoin movement since the blockchain is public, everyone can who send to who with the amount Roll Eyes

Also, buying bitcoin in large amount while stay anonymous is difficult due to heavy regulation to all exchanges.

If you're looking for anonymous cryptocurrency, you should use XMR. DASH private send, ZCash & Zcoin aren't bad option either.

it is not as impossible as you think it is, it is only hard in some cases and harder in some others for example when someone uses a mixing service. but in normal usage, it is easily traceable.

So far no one call tell who I'm from the bitcoin address I use, they can only tell from my internet forum profile.

it is not as impossible as you think it is, it is only hard in some cases and harder in some others for example when someone uses a mixing service. but in normal usage, it is easily traceable.

While I agree with you when you say that Bitcoin is not actually invented for illegal or unlawful activities, it would do good if Bitcoin is used for lawful activities. Bitcoin is being seen by others as a deepweb currency, a digital currency for the people living their lives underground. And most of these people are evading the law. It does not help spreading the word of Bitcoin properly.

Bitcoin transactions aren't completely safe, etc - they can be traced and whatnot. However, they are a lot more secure than payments through things such as PayPal, for example, and to the average user, Bitcoin is pretty much anonymous.

As for how it can be used harmfully - unfortunately that's how things just work out with this type of technology - to fund something in full secemret or whatever. Things are being done to stop illegal activity and Bitcoin, with an example being laws being passed in Australia to make it harder for things such as money laundering to happen with Bitcoin (don't remember the specifics, a quick google search away).

In the end, it's inevitable that tech such as Bitcoin is going to be used for bad, and it's best we just accept it.

One of the first impression when bitcoin was introduced is it is anonymous so people who are sending and receiving bitcoin are aware that you can do whatever with your bitcoin. Whether you'll use that for good or for bad but now there are some other privacy coins that are used for bad cause like monero and now bitcoin has been used mostly as an investment and store value and mainly as a digital currency.

yes, I agree with you, today I use bitcoin for things that benefit me, my family, and others people. I want to help others, and make them happy. bitcoin will be good when the user is channeled for good, not for crime.

I think nowadays BTC is very traceable and if someone want's to know were these BTC came from and who ended up with them, unless mixers are used... theres is always an option as not so secret.

If you use the factor of being "careless" then even the most safe method will become risky, so far only bitcoin is the method with full secrecy if you know how to handle them.
