Bitcoin obsession is actually not bad at all. For me, I would say it’s an edge over the others since you want to grab all the opportunities around that will make you highly profitable with bitcoin.
I think that those of us who spend a lot of time on the forum, and/or do other activities related to bitcoin, are not obsessed, as the concept has a negative connotation, but it does take up a lot of time in our thoughts. As long as it doesn't lead to forgetting or neglecting other tasks, I don't see a problem. It is like a workaholic who has a job that he is passionate about, and also makes him money. As said, as long as it doesn't lead to neglecting other parts of your life, it's not a bad thing, it's a good thing.
An obsession doesn't always need to be negative. The actual definition of an obsession is a thought or an idea that continually intrudes or preoccupies one's mind, and it doesn't have to be a negative thought or a negative thing as long as we are not acting negatively because of it. You are right that as long it isn't disturbing other things that we do in our lives, there is nothing wrong with having an obsession about something that you like or admire or want to have.

I believe Bitcoin obsession is a good thing because it will make you strive to get more and more over time and that is a financially positive thing for you if you actually succeed in gaining more Bitcoins over time because of your obsession with Bitcoin, and it obviously won't disturb other things in your life.
An "obsession" is neither good nor evil. How people utilize it gives it a negative reputation. Many are drawn to Bitcoin's magnetic attraction, proving your thesis. Many are affected, from coders to economists. Its decentralized and can cause trouble, so some individuals are interested in it. This desire can definitely push someone to get more of the crypto and profit from its rising value. Its still crucial to emphasize healthy passion. Experienced Bitcoin fans have a balanced existence. Howevr, hoarding is not the only issue.

Still, obsession in medical terms is negative because they took obsession as addiction.  There is a positve way to state interest and liking to Bitcoin in a higher degree and that is passion. just as you stated in the latter part of your reply.

Let's take the forum for instance, how many members do you see bump discussions topics in the technical boards of the forum like it's done in the other boards like trading discussion, beginners and help, bitcoin discussion etc. So the higher the number the higher the obsession effect is notice and importantly discussed, but that doesn't make the tech aspect of crypto not worthy of discussion regarding obsession.

Not because they are participating heavily on the discussion, they are obsessed with it.  It is highly possible that technical discussion is very limited to its technical state, one question can be fully answered by 1 reply.  Unlike the other board you stated where answer can be in different form of spectrum since it is more on the person's insight and not on technical terms.

I would think twice before using the forum board post metrics as a measure of what is people obsessing over and what not.

The number of technical people in this forum is handful while the number of general posters are immense.

Not everyone here has a background of programming and most of them are here to utilize bitcoin as a mode of payment or for trading. But this does not mean that the people who post in discussions are obsessed with bitcoin, they are often posting because of the signature campaigns they get into. People are obsessed with gambling and trading but I dont think the term is so much applicable to bitcoin in a core aspect.

Call me crazy but the way I think is different from many others, there is good obsession and bad obsession, you can be obsessed with something that will take your life and you can be obsessed with something that will build your life.

Addiction to investment is better than Addiction to lust, you can lose money and you can make money, but with lust you can lose your life, lots of infections here and there, you can end up with HIV and STDs.

Addiction to Bitcoin investment is also different from addiction to gambling, my advice is to know what you will get addicted to, I always watch myself carefully with gambling because I don't want to get addicted to it, but it's not the same with Bitcoin addiction.

Bitcoin is more reliable than gambling, one is more risky and damaging than the other, Choose wisely.

That's actually a good point, but addiction is addiction it might sounds good since in Bitcoin you could profit and earn money but for sure being addicted to it will cost something in your life like your health, you are way too focused in BTC that you forgot to eat, rest and exercise things like that.

Due to being addicted to it losing some money and doesn't have funds to invest would lead to selling properties or loan so when worse case scenario happened, it would eventually lead to lose of life like suicide. I think you're preferring about it as a hobby but don't call it as an addiction because there would be a negative side effect
Addiction to good things, especially those things that are promising or profitable is not bad at all, only that people view addiction in the negative aspect which makes them generalize it as bad. Talking about addiction in relation to your advice, there is nothing much it will do to health and general well-being. I can speak in that capacity because I've been addicted to trading for almost 2 decades now, but it has not affected any aspect of my life since it's profitable. This could be technically argued to be hard work in some spheres as well, and once you love doing it and you consistently see positive results and hope, you will rather enjoy it than affecting you whatsoever.

You need to distinguish between addiction and passion, why doesn't anyone call it drug passion or gambling passion? Calling it addiction means it will always be accompanied by bad and negative things, but if you want to praise someone, you should use the word passion. When you describe someone with words associated with addiction, no one will judge that person as a good person. Addiction is never good, whether it's investing or anything in this world.

Bitcoin has been around for a decade, Bitcoin has managed to become a popular investment choice for many people around the world in just a short time. The wider popularity of Bitcoin makes many people very obsessed with Bitcoin (Obsessive Bitcoin movement). People who are obsessed with Bitcoin will always take the time to check prices, news, and stop by cryptocurrency-related forums such as the Forum Bitcointalk.

The more people who are obsessed with Bitcoin the better for the future development of Bitcoin, their interest in Bitcoin can help increase the price and popularity of Bitcoin. People will take advantage of technological developments looking for new ways to invest and save their money. Gold is commonly used and is the choice for investors who are looking for security because it is not as susceptible to inflation as the dollar. Bitcoin can offer some advantages over gold, they think Bitcoin can be a safe haven and potentially offer multiple returns.
Bitcoin might have some advantages over gold but it also has some disadvantages. Most of these are related to their value and volatility. We all know how volatile Bitcoin is and it can always go up and down significantly in very short periods of time. So, the advantage of Bitcoin is that it goes up very quickly compared to gold and the disadvantage is that it also drops in value very quickly where the price of gold usually just keeps going up slowly over time.

The reason behind the obsession of people with Bitcoin is basically because of its ability to go up significantly during bull runs which provides great returns on investments. I know there are some people who started using Bitcoin not just because of its price but because of the technology but those numbers are pretty low.

Contrary by definition to moderation you mean "not normal", but that's a narrow definition you hold of obsession in this regard, maybe as it suits the topic of discuss.

If we're to look deep into obsession it's an ambiguous word, meaning it's associated with multiple meanings such as attraction, fascination, fancy, enthusiasm etc.

if a bitcoiner is said to have any of these aforementioned does it make them abnormal ? Or are those words contrary to moderation that somebody can't be moderately enthusiast or fascinated about bitcoin?   So from my very point of view I don't see how obsession can't be moderated.

Ca you provide some definitions of obsession you use when talking about meanings such as attraction, enthusiasm etc. Because for me those words have different meaning. And mixing them could lead to misunderstandings. I don`t say that 'not normal' is the only way I describe it. I know that definition of obsession os not that narrow, however, i don`t see fascination and attractions within its frames.

I tried adding a little. Apart from the discussion above regarding obsession with something, for example Bitcoin investment as another investment opportunity in the world of digital currency which is profitable and of course has a high level of risk too, now the way to minimize this must be a good understanding of Bitcoin which in the end can provide profits finances are not trial and error in the end.
You won't earn anything by being obsessed. It has never led to anything good, but everything happens exactly the opposite. This is shown by numerous examples throughout human history.
If you engage in investing and trading, you need different qualities. For example, analytical work. I can say that this scares many people away. There's nothing you can do about it. Consequently, then there is no need to engage in these processes, but to find another occupation.

I think the bad thing about obsession is that we put aside our common sense so that we have high expectations so that we have high shadows too, and it will be dangerous if in the end it does not match the reality so that it will become a psychological burden that can damage ourselves, obsessed with something like bitcoin is fine, as long as we also want to learn to deepen knowledge about bitcoin so we can think realistically
Well, what do you care about those people who have various illusions about crypto? I personally absolutely don’t care about such processes. The time will come and show that you don’t need to hope for something too much. Everything should be in moderation. Approach many issues with a cool head and without unnecessary emotionality. In this case, there will be no mistakes or disappointments. Naturally, not everyone understands this, but life will put everything in its place.
I went through this myself and it took me several years to realize and understand. Others must go through this too.

Well, if combined with current market conditions, perhaps many people are more inclined to understand market dynamics to achieve greater profits, especially as corrections are still ongoing today by continuing to buy even though there is a DCA installment method or all in buying at the same time. So. The most important thing is to maintain a balance between obsession and deep understanding, and apply wise actions in pursuing obsession, combine obsession with reason, don't use lust with the desire to get rich quickly and indeed the direction in the end is all profit.

Obsession will always be associated with a negative effect on one’s life. But if you are trying to point out about bitcoin obsession, well probably it’s quite safer to say that it’s better to become obsessed with bitcoin investment than to never have bitcoin at all. However, if you are obsessed with gambling using bitcoin, gambling addiction itself will always be unhealthy so I think that will never be a good decision. I would rather be obsessed with bitcoin investment than to take risk in uncontrolled gambling addiction.

There are a fine line that separate obsession and passion, although the dictionary may say that they are synonym, there is a characteristic that differs an obsession to passion because in medical terms, obsession is always accompanied by negative things, it is more like an addiction since obsession to something is like losing control of the mind's rationality while passion is accompanied by positive things since rationality is still intact there and is at an optimum functionality in order to give a person a positive result.

So I guess if we are talking about positive results in Bitcoin involvement, passion should have been used since obsession as I stated is almost the same as addiction where the uncontrol urge to accumulate Bitcoin is in hand.

But if what you mean is you will use your bitcoin obsession to promote gambling or engage in some scam activities so you can attract others to also invest in bitcoin, for me that’s always unacceptable. Your obsession is making yourself highly beneficial while you are putting some lives at a high risk of losing.

I don't think obsession are good for any individual because obsession are always associated with the negative effect like you said and having a negative effect towards Bitcoin would be bad for any investors because it can lead you to invest more than you'll be willing to lose and this will put you under pressure that can cause you to be panicking when the market is testing a resistance level which could make you to sell your investment prematurely.

We should always have a positive effects from investing in Bitcoin and that's why we don't have to be obsessed with bitcoin but invest just in the right manner which has to do with using only our spare money to buy Bitcoin so we can hold our investment with piece of mind.

Much obsession with something even if it's something that's good can also lead to an unhealthy situation. We all know water helps with digestion but if consumed more than needed it will make the body unhealthy.
The obsession of some Bitcoin enthusiasts is the reason why we have in the UK a hospital launched to serve as a rehab program for Bitcoin addiction years ago.
Therefore, I don't see BTC obsession as a good thing cause it has affected some relationships and it's good to minimize the level of the obsession.

Pretty hard to talk about this knowing that there are various degrees of both obsession and addiction. It's not binary — it's a spectrum; just like how two money-obsessed persons have different degrees of obsession.
It’s a spectacular view on the subject, talking about the degrees to which one might out weight the other but then, I would as well like to view that one leads to the other and that’ll be, obsession leading to addiction. This makes addiction the final product of an uncontrolled or tamed obsession. That’s to say, obsession could be controlled or stopped before it grows into something more difficult to handle. It’s just a likable situation and that’s okay.

Looking at crypto enthusiasts towards bitcoin, I’m not sure obsession really comes in as, there is hardly anyone that would have there all invested in bitcoin. The percentage of any wouldn’t be far from 10 and below of crypto investors. It’s good that as you see all the goods you can archive with bitcoin, you don to terms with the fact that, it still ain’t the ultimate and there are other fields of human endeavors that have got potentials too.
