We all prefer ethereum over bitcoin.but bitcoin has always been like the "gold" of cryptocurrencies, and ethereum might be the "silver" but digital. I still believe in both coins, but ethereum is obviously much more useful

Both coins are very promising. But I like the ether more. It seems to me that this coin can give me more profit than bitcoin.
Both eth and bitcoin are very good for long term and profitable. Since you like more ether anyway it is okay because there are many smart contracts for ethereum. So for me both I had btc and ethereum for me to earned big in the long run. 
I prefer bitcoin for long-term or short-term investments. as many people already know that bitcoin continues to rise from year to year.
It does not matter if you want to buy it now, not necessarily you wait for the market price to go down for you to start buying.

yes I also say that if bitcoin will still be the best, because I'm sure if bitcoin still has the potential to be a good coin for the long term. but ethereum also has the potential to be a good price.

Both are very good and both have high liquidity levels. So for i'd settle for both of them. but my personal favorite is ETH.
ETH is good to purchase some more coins from projects since they are accepting it more than Bitcoin, But you can also buy for ETH to hold, and Bitcoin is the best option for longer period of holding.
If you ask me, neither of them will be sorry for long term investment. You can even create an investment portfolio in quantities you both have in mind. As the market volume increases and new investors become cryptic, the beautiful days will be waiting for us.

In long-term holdings of ETH, in my opinion the ETH will surge in price at the end of the year, they are currently held by many people and believe that they are the king of the coin in the future.
In the long term, BTC is likely to outperform ETH, BTC is a leading penny in the market and they may explode in price by the end of 2018. As many analysts predict, BTC prices may rise. $ 50k later this year. Wait for this to happen to us.
Personally i would go with ethereum if we are talking about a year or two max. Ethereum has potential to see 10k in a year and almost makes 20x considering it's price one week ago. As for bitcoin it will take him more than couple of years to make 20x. Therefor i would go with ethereum if i were you.

bitcoin is good, but will always be blamed for not having an active responsibility from the CEO, in this case bitcoin will never be suitable to enter the government regulation room. Ethereum is able to answer everything more effectively, but in addition to my theory, the active potential for the next 5 years will still be held by bitcoin, I agree with you for now.

If you are looking for a long term hold(2+ years) then ETH is the answer.If you look at the usability, then ETH outmatches bitcoins by big margin.It might become the biggest crypto leaving even bitcoin behind.And the devs are working really very hard to do this.All because of Dapp and other features which bitcoins can never provide.Bitcoin now just looks like a investment thing, people are afraid to use it as currency because of it volatile fees & price! Whereas ether solves both the problems and provides real world applications too.

You will not make a mistake investing in both crypto leaders coin. They both fall and rise at the same time ,so its dual profit.
none of the billionaires does not say that the ethereum will cost 10k or 100k. And everyone says that BTC will cost 250K+. My choice is bitcoin for several years.
Both BTC or ETH are good for you to invest. As long as you buy and sell at the right time, every dollar brings you big profits. ETH is much lower than bitcoin. There are many people who invest in ETH because it is less risky than bitcoin.
For most of user bitcoin is prime rest including ETH are second or third or next in the line. Mainly they pick bitcoin cuz of price but some have good perspective like ETH.
