We had a very interesting discussion over the weekend and people debated if it was better to invest in property or to invest in Bitcoin. The argument was as follows :

1. Most people cannot afford to buy property, so they take a home loan at a Bank. The home loan is paid back with interest and some of these loans are spread out over 20 years to make it affordable to the person who takes out the loan. So, over that 20 years the house of $100 000 will cost you say $1 000 000. {$900 000 paid in interest}

The argument is also that the property has to increase in value, with more than $900 000 for you to say that it was a good investment AND you have to sell that property to get that profit.

2. The other side of the room said it was better to rent a smaller property and to invest the "savings" into something like Bitcoin, because your profit will pay for a bigger deposit or even a whole property in a few years time.

I think paying a high interest rate to a Bank is just as bad as paying rent to a Landlord, because you are getting screwed in both these circumstances.  Angry

I think both of property and bitcoin is a good investment. But to choose one of them, it can decided depeding on your needs. If youre a teenager that just starting to make an investment and limit on the capital, bitcoin will be good for you. But, if you already grow up and have fixed salary per months i think property will be better.

yes, buying a house by using a bank loan is a very bad idea, I would choose to invest in the crypto world than I should do that bad idea.

investing, then being patient waiting for the bull market to buy a home or property is the best way that I became my choice.

For me, the best thing that will invest to is the bitcoin because the price of bitcoin is unstable so it might get high when you invest. But when you invest in property, the price will still remain. In bitcoin you will get a high profit.

This highly depends on your age and the amount of risk that you're willing to take, I wouldn't be investing in bitcoin (or properties) if I'm soon to retire. You're opening yourself up to a good amount of risk, risk that isn't necessary and could be the cause for you having to go back to work if you drain through a good amount of your retirement funds. I'm not saying real estate is something I'd hop in towards the last couple years, but-- the rental income could still be a lot better then bitcoin speculation with your money. I'm team property.
Well, I think every person has different preceiption and it will matters most. Investment strategy will all depend on every individuals because we all have different view of life, so as for me the only good investment about propery is a lot of a land since its price will never depreciate and beyond that bitcoin is still the best for me.

Bitcoin is as yet the best decision for speculation yet it takes a great deal of tolerance. I think purchasing bitcoins from acquired cash is certainly not a decent way, the danger of losing for bitcoin speculations is excessively extraordinary and will give you more costs when you bring about misfortunes. Better to utilize the cash you have and measure your capacity to lose capital.

I think property is a better investment right now because there is a great need right now for land properties and having an investment in property is a very good sure shot profit because having a property right now is a necessity. On the other hand bitcoin right now is a bad investment because it has reached its peak and right now the fluctuations is unpredictable so I can't say that bitcoin is the best investment right now.

For now I still believe bitcoin is better than property investment, bitcoin got a better rising, the rising is very high, and bitcoin is cheaper, and I also feel that bitcoin is more reliable when you suddenly need emergency fund, and I don't agree with lending for investment, investment is supposed from unused money, you also need to provide a lot of documents if you want to invest in property, so for me bitcoin still a better investment

to invest everybody has their own thoughts to do it, if I prefer investing in bitcoin when compared to property, although investing property is not too big a risk, but to be able to benefit me is very difficult, different like an investment in bitcoin, although the risk may be somewhat greats, but investing in bitcoin for me is more promising for bigger profits.

I like that one more.

The thing with Bitcoin and it's massive long term potential is that everything of traditional nature is a waste of time in my opinion. I was seriously considering to convert a chunk of my savings to Gold last year, and then I asked myself why would I do that? Gold won't show any big movements in the forthcoming years, is damn difficult to sell, is damn difficult to spend, etc. Instead, I used the allocated capital to buy even more Bitcoin, and it worked out extremely well.

As long as Bitcoin's potential hasn't been catched up on, I don't see the point of investing in anything else, unless it turns out to be an actually great opportunity.

People are brainwashed to think that real estate is the right way to go, where they completely disregard the fact that parking capital in real estate means you are missing out on everything that's happening in the flashy tech space. Investing in stocks would have been a great option too for people not interested in crypto. Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Tesla; they have done exceptionally well and outperformed the rest of the traditional market.

And btw, thanks for the threads, it's a welcome change with 99% rubbish in this section of the forum. If I had a sMerit left I would have given it to you.

Yes, the point of the thread was to get people to think outside of the box and not to follow like sheep. Satoshi developed Bitcoin, because he wanted something that was not the norm and look how this turned out. I am not saying that people should spend all their money on Bitcoin, because that would be stupid.

I am saying that people should consider if property investment is really such a good investment, if you take all factors into consideration. This is specifically targeted at the young people who wants to buy that big house or the investor that wants to invest in a second or third property.  Roll Eyes

yes taking a home loan has a big interest to own it for 20 years. but you cannot feel the huge interest because you gonna pay for it only every month or year, its not a big deal isnt, but when you really think how exactly that amount worth in the past 20 years (home load already paid) it is hard for you to think that you already paid that high interest without heavy feelings in the past. but its such a huge interest.

investing in "something like bitcoin" is really has a high risk, not just to lost all of your money but also your how you live for, but when you have a patience and dont let anyone brings you a fear in FUDs and dips, in only 3-5 years you can earn much more than that home loan interest in such 5 years. and no waiting for 20 years long. but as i said it is more risky than any investment program exist.

Well cryptocurrency is also a good investmen which relatively let you earn more than the property that you will going to invest. However the risk is so high and that could be also dangerous especially if you had huge investment on it. So i guess it would be better to invest on property than bitcoin and at the same time invest also in cryptocurrency if you had some spare money or savings.

I think that btc can give you a chance to double this amount of money while investment in property is more reliable. both have their own pros and cons. it is up to  you to decide taking into account your own goals

Investment in Bitcoin or Property is proportional. With property you will have less risk to devalue your investments, but the profit in case of success is not so great. With bitcoin, you have more risk of losing your investment, but the profit may be many times more than from property. In what it is better to invest money, the question is complicated, because everyone has an individually permissible level of risk.

the truth about any investment is that as an investment it has to bring much more than it has been committed to in the near future there by increasing in value and worth and all these descriptions fits the bitcoin much more than the property so i prefer a bitcoin to a property

Nowadays, being practical is the best strategy for me. Just buy a small house and lot then the rest is investing in bitcoin to gain more profit before investing again some real estate property. Bitcoin is the best investment at this moment. You can earn bigger in just a short of time.

I think the best investment is in bitcoin because even if the price is not stable but still you can assure a big profits on it, in the right time. Just hold and wait...
Either way is a good idea for investment but it's owning a property that stands out for me. Well my perception about bitcoin is that it's just a good thing at some times. Unlike in owning a property where you can rent it for others so that you will earn or using it yourself. So for me I will still choose property over bitcoin.

Either of the two is a good investment because you can really earn in both ways. In bitcoin you can earn by making it grow then exchange for a real money that we're using for buying what we want. On the other hand investment in property can also make you earn by renting it to others in exchange of money.
