in my area there are no shops/restaurants that accept bitcoin as direct payment. but that's not a problem for me. because today I have sold a little bit of my bitcoin and and then exchanged it for money. and will buy food such as pizza and the like for small parties with the family. and of course I will slip education about bitcoin to the family on this bitcoin pizza day. because my family has started to be interested in bitcoin. this is happiness when one family together holding bitcoin Roll Eyes
If there are no shops/restaurants that accept Bitcoin as payment in your geographical area, you can still save yourself some stress by buying Giftcard Domino or other food outlets through Bitrefill, CoinGate, etc.
However, telling your family more about Bitcoin on a day like this will be an incredible idea since Bitcoin Pizza day is something that every BTC enthusiast will always remember for generations.

If happens, it will be a great even on the forum.

I would like to forget about it, the biggest mistake in my life. I don't want to talk about it in rest of my life if I was lazlo
Mate, this was not a mistake and Lazlo himself doesn't consider it as the biggest mistake of his life. I have watched his interview and he said he's not regretting his actions. He has embedded his name in bitcoin as long as bitcoin lasts, as the first man to make a bitcoin transaction.
Also consider this;
As at when Lazlo bought his pizza, btc was worth about $0.004 and 10,000 of it should be about $41. So, it still easy for anyone to buy two pizzas with $41. Even if he didn't spend it for pizza, eventually he would have blown it on other things.

2010 (May 22) $0.004
2012 $5
2014 $450
2016 $450
2018 $9000
2020 $9000
2022 $30000

Great chart! Hope it's right. We'll see if the trend continues...

Be ready to hold 2+ years before we break above 30k?

This was happiness 6 years ago. The next happiness I'm looking forward to is one family spending bitcoin...

And maybe some day, one family all understanding bitcoin... haha

Which will come first, understanding bitcoin or spending bitcoin???

As someone from New York I think all chain pizza is not real pizza you can get some pizza gift cards from Bitrefill tomorrow and get 50% sats back.
But then you have to eat something that is only vaguely pizza like. As opposed to real pizza.

Thanks for sharing! And I love Stewart's deep dish pizza rant, hahaha. I'm half way between NY and CHI, so I eat both.

Same as I've been doing for the last 4-5 years, gonna bake my own bitcoin themed pizza. That is, If I have enough time. Worst case scenario is just ordering the pizza, but its not the same thing as making your own.
Definitely, this is one of the reasons Bitcoin has continued to remain relevant in spite of the negative press on its back. We've got so much love for this phenomenon and its creator, the maverick Satoshi. Your idea and practice to mark this day has given me an idea too. I hope to do something similar next year. Felicitations to all who has love for Bitcoin. Greater felicitations to Laszlo Hanyecz for making today a possibility.

Happy Pizza Day everyone.

For some reason, it seems to me that this year all the holidays in honor of bitcoin are not very successful. At a minimum, due to a significant fall in the exchange rate, and as a result, many simply lost part of their money.

It doesn't matter in the long run, if you want an instant millionaire formula, well... There's none.

When I think of this man, I am so upset that language cannot be spoken ‍and I don't know the state of mind of the person who did this. I can dedicate this day to him and all the early seller of bitcoin.

Thats is a great idea!

There is a wide open opportunity for anyone to subtly introduce Bitcoin to family,
friends and neighbours while enjoying tasty food. With the endorphins flowing from the
tasty Pizza the magical story of Bitcoin and what Laszlo acheived.

BTC
Every years celebrate with Pizza day I don't think how feeling by some one have sold their bitcoin to buy pizza, better about celebrate bitcoin pizza days not with not really remember again. I know how disappointed we are when selling altcoin and later price pump drastically, maybe this fell by some one have sold bitcoin with bigger amount to buy Pizza, maybe if try selling bitcoin nowadays he can purchase all Pizza store around the world not only get one part of Pizza only.

I think he sold not regret his decision because at that time no one would have thought that bitcoin could reach over 60K and plus. Even if he had not bought the pizza that time, he would have spent his coins somewhere else. It's not ready to hold bitcoin for 10+ years when no one was aware of bitcoin in those times.
The good thing is that due to his act of buying pizza with bitcoin, he become too much famous and he will always be remembered.  Smiley

He used bitcoin for his purposes and will have no regrets here, no one would have thought that the price of bitcoin would be as high as it is today even Satoshi. All the amazing things that bitcoin has done for our world.

If you want to talk about regret, let's talk about people who bought bitcoins and lost their private keys in a landfill. They cannot see and use the bitcoin they consider worthless and throw them away.

Interesting to see pizza day in a day in the bitcoin bearish phase and the price falling so some newbies were doing panic selling at lower prices while they can hold and all they need to do is to be patient and don't fall into the emotional trap just like happened on the pizza day. The guy who owned this amount of bitcoins and sold bitcoins because he didn't truly leave on it and couldn't hold it, I believe a few years later when the price reached much higher price the people who sold their asset at price will have the same feelings of the guy who traded bitcoins for a pizza.

Laszlo is quoted saying "To be fair, the pizzas were pretty good." Haha, so I think he has no regrets!
Also, it is important to note that Lsszlo didn't buy pizzas with bitcoin because he couldn't hold bitcoin or he was afraid, but because he wanted to prove that if you can buy food with bitcoin, its as good as any other money. And he indeed proved that

Thats it, its a landmark event more because of this rather than what others think was an
exorbitant amount of Bitcoin to pay for Pizza.
That's true, and this is indeed enough to be a consolation in losing the middle market like this even though this is indeed something that is risky for some people but there are still many people who still commemorate this and this is very good to celebrate with joy

Even this person is willing to be a pizza seller in a day Cheesy

My last two bitcoin themed pizzas

Thats brilliant!

I am hoping to have Pizza tomorrow but I'm not sure if its going to happen on a Sunday.
I might have to resort to something like this but It will be a bit of improvisation on my
part I think.

He's very proud to have a famous record by purchasing 2 pizzas when Bitcoin was still new.

I can understand people might have an assumption he might regret it.
And to avoid regretting it, we can easily select a good strategy:
For Bitcoin spendings, it's always good practise to save some BTC for HODL and to use some BTC for purchase.
Keep it in a different wallet.
One for purchase, one for HODL.

It will help to have a good saving and store of value for personal money management.  Smiley
