What are your plans for bitcoin pizza day this year?

Bummer that it falls on a Sunday!

I've only got 3 restaurants that accept bitcoin lightning network in my area and all three are closed on Sundays... Sad
I usually end up buying 20 bucks worth of bitcoin a day, that is more than enough for a random day to be fair, because it is just one thing that we all know of but the reality is that there must have been plenty like that. People need to realize that all those times when bitcoin worth tiny cents there were tons of transactions as well.

I remember back in the day we paid under 1 dollar transaction fees and it was still like 0.01 bitcoin or so, and that was nothing, today the same amount worths about 300+ dollars, if we were to spend the same amount of bitcoin. Of course we do not spend that much anymore but that is thanks to dropping the fee in bitcoin too.

I'm "old enough" to remembet when blocks weren't full and we processed zero fee transactions,  haha.

If happens, it will be a great even on the forum.

I would like to forget about it, the biggest mistake in my life. I don't want to talk about it in rest of my life if I was lazlo
Mate, this was not a mistake and Lazlo himself doesn't consider it as the biggest mistake of his life. I have watched his interview and he said he's not regretting his actions. He has embedded his name in bitcoin as long as bitcoin lasts, as the first man to make a bitcoin transaction.
Also consider this;
As at when Lazlo bought his pizza, btc was worth about $0.004 and 10,000 of it should be about $41. So, it still easy for anyone to buy two pizzas with $41. Even if he didn't spend it for pizza, eventually he would have blown it on other things.
Maybe the 10000 bitcoins might've gone for some other purpose or as a donation. As he made the transaction for pizza it have got added to the history. Another thing he could've got more number of bitcoins, if not one will not go for such a plan of buying pizza with bitcoin. He mentioned in the interview in a cool way that someone paid with their credit card and it delivered to him.

Could anyone of us, the admin, moderators or staff make some efforts to have Laszlo visit us once every year? Most appropriately on the bitcoin pizza day. I believe his account wasn't blocked and he wasn't as anonymous as Satoshi. I said this because the pizza was delivered to his house, if that be his permanent house, his address is known.
He could be contacted to make us feel great once again in this forum.

A historical post from Mr. Bitcoin Pizza is there: Pizza for bitcoins?

Personally, I feel we should give him peace. I can not say on behalf of him but if I was him, I would like to forget about it, the biggest mistake in my life. I don't want to talk about it in rest of my life if I was lazlo

It should be celebrated on a weekend right on a Sunday where family gathering with delicious pizza dishes will certainly make people happy and I will tell they how Laszlo bought pizza 12 years ago so cheaply but if this happens now it's something very amazing.

I'll forget the bitcoin price dropped Cheesy, right on this sunday should be my happy day with pizza passing by.

Bitcoin day celebration. I seen it like celebration that supposed to happen between the people who has bitcoin for long volume. And the celebration is not people that have no good quality of Bitcoin in wallet. But the celebration the way am seeing is like memory of the first thing Bitcoin is being used to buy after it small noticeable by the people. If I'm opportune ti see people who have Bitcoin like fiat money i will convince the person to invest more for bitcoins so that through Bitcoin pizza celebration i will be among of the family of Bitcoin pizza celebration

However, Tuesday, I am planning a get together in Brecksville, Ohio at Juice Lab.
At least you were able to find a crypto meetup near your location [I couldn't find a single event near my place, so I'm stuck with what I've been doing in the past few years (ordering a pizza and using ketchup to decorate it with BPD-related stuff].

For those who mentioned not being able to pay with BTCitcoin because of the limited options, perhaps you can at least try paying for it in an indirect manner [e.g. Bitrefill].

haha, I'm running the meetup... we'll see if anyone shows... as you can see there's one person "attending" right now, haha...

Each year, we have a Bitcoin pizza day and around this event, the market usually is not good.

It is unexplainable on my side but I think history has its power and most of the crowd obssessed and affected by history bull or bear. Keep it in my for Bitcoin movement next days and coming weeks. In order to rally, Bitcoin need to break out of the falling wedge and to have it, massive volume must come.

Now there is no massive volume and if it continues, price will fall more, very likely.

It's great that you are having this event in honor of the famous Bitcoin pizza purchase. Somehow it made the ball rolling for Bitcoin. So it is really worth commemorating. That's a great day to look back in Bitcoin's history, and Laszlo is like a hero. So even if it's just juice or whatever, it's still nice remembering and honoring the day and the man.

I'm not sure if there is something like this happening in my area. There's probably none. Regardless, perhaps a cheers for Laszlo will do.

Interesting to see pizza day in a day in the bitcoin bearish phase and the price falling so some newbies were doing panic selling at lower prices while they can hold and all they need to do is to be patient and don't fall into the emotional trap just like happened on the pizza day. The guy who owned this amount of bitcoins and sold bitcoins because he didn't truly leave on it and couldn't hold it, I believe a few years later when the price reached much higher price the people who sold their asset at price will have the same feelings of the guy who traded bitcoins for a pizza.

Laszlo is quoted saying "To be fair, the pizzas were pretty good." Haha, so I think he has no regrets!
Also, it is important to note that Lsszlo didn't buy pizzas with bitcoin because he couldn't hold bitcoin or he was afraid, but because he wanted to prove that if you can buy food with bitcoin, its as good as any other money. And he indeed proved that

If I had my own pizzeria, I would run something like an advertising campaign using bitcoin's theme that day. I would offer customers a pizza with a design similar to yours (that is, using bitcoin logo and a similar theme) with the option to pay only in BTC. A small bonus to bitcoin connoisseurs who know about this significant day for this community.
None of the pizzeria chains thought of this?
None that I know of and that's just tells you how far away are we from mass adoption. Looking at the bright side of that, it means that we are still early. Smiley

Same as I've been doing for the last 4-5 years, gonna bake my own bitcoin themed pizza. That is, If I have enough time. Worst case scenario is just ordering the pizza, but its not the same thing as making your own.

My last two bitcoin themed pizzas

Are you ready to sell this pizza for 10,000 BTC? Wink

Oh, those look great! The cheese BTC is a nice detail  Grin

I'm going to go to a pizza bar and get a few slices of pizza with some beer.

With everything changing these days, having a constant like Bitcoin is a great thing, so I'm happy to celebrate these things.

Great, peeps are talking about bitcoin pizza day and also planning on meeting up and paying for pizza in bitcoin and here me and my friends still figuring out whether we have any single restaurant throughout our country who accepts bitcoin? Lolz.

It’s good guys, those who has opportunity to celebrate Do it and share the pizza vibes on forum. Frankly, fast food chains like Dominos, Pizza Hut or papa John’s pizza should give options like this, they have the potential really.

Would it be a good idea If you guys could actually make a photo about something for the pizza day, like slicing the pizza into BTC shape or your transaction receipt/bill indicating that you paid Btc for a dinner and then post it right on this thread on Sunday?
Sounds fun right? Lol.

I might gonna spend a small fraction for a Pizza but unfortunately no Pizza store or a merchant who accepts Bitcoin in this small town where I am situated.
