What's everyone doing for Bitcoin Pizza Day (BPD) 2024?

The best tagline I've heard so far is: "14 years ago, you could buy pizza for 10,000 bitcoins... now you can buy 10,000 pizzas for 1 bitcoin!"

I will be at Scratch Restaurant from 11am until 1pm. This is my flagship location that has been accepting bitcoin since 2018!

https://facebook.com/events/s/bitcoin-pizza-day/751797533827918/

Then, in the afternoon, we will head to Higher Heights Fitness for a crypto 101 discussion from 2pm until 3pm.

https://www.facebook.com/events/362670259601793/

Hope you can join if you're near me. Otherwise, share your plans here!

Created and added my lunch Facebook event to the post: https://facebook.com/events/s/bitcoin-pizza-day/751797533827918/

Wouldn’t it be streamed online or something so people can tune in and join the conversation?

well... i'm ordering a pizza obviously.
and the next day, for the eth etf approval, i'll celebrate by ordering another one.  Grin

and on the 24th, i'll do two hours of cardio
That’s what came to mind. A great way to celebrate would be to buy some pizza (if possible with Bitcoin), and download them into one’s stomach. And if not with pizza, to make more transactions with Bitcoin.

online streaming - interesting thought. I doubt I'll have a large enough crowd or interesting enough of topic for that, but I'll probably record the discussion to post.

I assume there's gotta be an online stream discussion somewhere else to join on this, yes? I guess I haven't looked for anything like that in a long time.

If I do post, hopefully, it gets more than 58 views like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygIfIWPvMEc

haha.

Well, you never can tell how interested people are. You can drop it effortlessly and whatever happens will happen. Those who find it interesting will join. It could be YouTube too. So the live video will still be there as a normal video that people can go back to watch anything. Saves you the stress.

Bitcoin Pizza Day will be remembered every year because this is a big event for now and maybe in the past 10k Bitcoin was nothing, but once again those who bought Pizza never regretted buying Pizza with 10K Bitcoin.

The month of May will be full of Pizza Day history same as my birth month but the date is not exact hahaha I understand this but when there is time maybe it will be celebrated with the family to buy a pan of Pizza.
The interesting part of this story is that whenever you get to compare the value of the current price of the said amount of Bitcoin he transacted for the two pizzas is just mind blowing because the difference in market value now is fucking bonkers. I would definitely bet it that if lazlo actually knew the fate and outcome of Bitcoin he wouldn't have dare to sell and same goes for everyone who would have filled those shoes.

The story always seem laughable but the truth remain that this like this happen that is why many things are written for our learning at such some are still not even learning. Many in the system today may not be a witness when it happened but history has it, it will also be a history to those who are always eager to sell if the little BTC they hold instead of long term as they count much on there needs rather than what the future of BTC will hold for them, you may be laughing the man who use off his BTC to chop pizza that is his basic need just as many sell today on what they seem to be basic need without considering future the best any having BTC exercise patient in holding the more you skip regret in Life.
Well, this kind of story is one that misses the biggest opportunity for their life, I guess. It is laughable, but imagine the person who uses his bitcoin for a pizza. Does he despise pizza now? Anyway, I know we all have our own stories, our own missed opportunities, and for me in bitcoin, in my experience, the very thing I regret is that I didn't believe in my friends. I mean, I had a friend in the earlier years saying that we should invest in bitcoin because he sees its potential, but as I was still in high school and had no interest in money-making, I ignored what he said, and he also didn't pursue bitcoin. So if I only had a slight interest in earning money at that early age, maybe I'm more financially stable, but the past is in the past right now. Instead of sulking, I do my best in order to had a slight interest in earning money at that early age, maybe I'm more financially stable, but the past is in the past right now. Instead of sulking, I do my best in order to have a good investment and profit in bitcoin. There's no late in bitcoin investment.

I don't know where you are located and definitely can not join but I can purchase at least 3 or 4 packs of pizza on that day and share with my family. I definitely will also pay in Bitcoin. Also, we usually have Bitcoin pizza contest on this forum during that period of time, so I hope you will join the contest by then.

Hehe, a small reminder only Bitcoin lovers are allowed here so please avoid discussing the other shitcoins haha I know ETH is a good coin but it is a shitcoin when we talk about Bitcoin, Hmm I like many others as well but I try my best to avoid discussing those here in this section especially, come to Altcoin section we can have a good discussion on it and other's as well.

__Bitcoinera... haha I'm sure someone from senrios will defiantly mention you on your post haha, so I thought why not to react first. Anyway Bitcoin as a payment is not efficient now, we can call Bitcoin now a good source of valuation (store of value).

OP sad to say mostly members are from remote locations, many are even from different regions whising you good luck haha, even if its late.

lightning network is helping bitcoin be an efficient payment method. Have you had a chance to use it yet?

I don't try to convert Bitcoin to my local currency because you can use 1 BTC to own a fortune here in my country.

Buying a pizza for 10k Bitcoin 14 years ago and to buy 10k pizza for just one Bitcoin today shows how far it has gone for the digitized currency, it is really worth celebrating because 14 years ago few or no one knew that Bitcoin will reach this height. Possibly 14 years from now again we will record another milestone that Bitcoin has achieved. The power of HODL is the key to achieving that milestone.

I believe the power of SPENDL needs to take over for long term success. But HODL certainly doesn't hurt Smiley

Probably will grab a pizza or I'll just check out what other people are doing online lol -- latter is most likely though

I sill think of it as a big milestone and objectively a fun event to commemorate. But as an adult, I've noticed yearly events could get anti-climatic over time e.g. birthdays, etc.so I've been preferring simple stuff for celebrations.

I wish you good luck though @op. Do update us whenever you can!

What day is it?

if it's the pizza day, it's on May 22nd

Those who mined it early could have also sold it early when the price rose a little bit, or they could have lost their coins
Yes, the ones who sold it early would be regretting a lot today and the ones who lost it would always be thinking that why they haven't took proper care of their precious coins back then. In 2009-2010 people weren't much aware about the potential of Bitcoin and they cared less about it because it was valueless back then, only few people knew that one day Bitcoin will be much valuable and those few people are still enjoying their lives if they are still alive.

Don't worry he won't sue you, he just reminded you that it's a place for Bitcoin lovers. You can talk about altcoins at altcoin discussion board by the way.

I'll probably just grab one box of pizza, definitely not going to be a bad idea to do some small celebration eh? After all, it's a monumental event for bitcoin and the community. Now my only dilemma is that should I get a pepperoni because I'm tired of the same one, might choose to do overload and ask for some extra sauce, might share it with you guys too. Hopefully I can remember to do that with my busy schedule.

I don't use facebook anymore so I am unable to see the time/date/location details outside of what you've shared in your post here, but this is really cool of you to do, and I hope you gets at least a person or two to join you.

Fun fact.. most people don't realize that Laszlo actually ended up trading around 35,000 bitcoins for several pizza deals, instead of just the 10k most people think he spent.  Kind of crazy!
