Can you explain this to me^ May 22 Is Bitcoin Pizza Day because 4 years ago this week that guy offered 10,000 Bitcoins for two Papa John’s pizzas?

Correct and that helped kick off Bitcoin.

I have made a couple of small donations with Bitcoin, but nothing spectacular. (Shawn's outpost etc.) and handed out a couple of brochures to local restaurants from Bitcoin Bigfoot and requested some businesses I frequent to accept BTC. I don't need a pizza, but wanted to thank you for doing this anyway. The little stuff counts.

For doing what? You think he is giving away pizza?  Grin
I think he is showing us the pizza he enjoyed, but if there is free pizza I'll get in line for one...

Did you guys see that?
Just respond to this thread and the OP is buying us all pizza.

You're calling this a pizza? I'd rather call it an cake, i hate these pizzas pizza has to be thick not be like cake.

Well this opens the great debate. Thick or thin?? I think i'm a thin fav. Thick is just too doughy and normally greasy.

All pizza is greasy, but thick/deep-dish adds a huge layer of white bread dough....yuck.
The original Bitcoin pizza looked really good, with a ring of thick crispy bread on the outside, but thin in the middle:

Why would you need to deep fry a Mars bar?

Now that i've had, and its actually nice but its a hard thing to find in Scotland, people think it is every where, but its only sold in a few places and most places will get annoyed if you ask for one.

I don't know why I looked up this...

Deep fried pizza

Haggis pizza

I tried looking for a deep fried haggis pizza but started feeling sick looking at haggis...

It's minging.

Haggis looks fine to me..... but the deep fried one looks like a heart attack waiting to happen. Why would you need to deep fry it???

I was dismayed to learn that no one at the local pizza joint had heard of Bitcoin.  They thought it was a "casino card."  I guess it is still early.
Even if they would have heard of bitcoin do you expect them to sell you a pizza for cryptos??

And can someone tell me that how exactly did the bitcoin pizza day started?

Said so many times on here by me and a few others people, go on takeaway.com they will accept BTC for local places.

Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day!

It's crazy that the person bought a pizza for 10,000 BTC back then..
Now you can buy about 360,000 large pizzas in today's price!  Shocked

That pizza looks disgusting.  I bet they do the same as Pizza Hut.  Pour oil in the pan and let the dough proof for a few hours while it soaks up the oil.  Then as they cook it, it soaks up the rest.

For me, it's definitely got to be thin crust. If you're ever in Vancouver, you gotta give this place a try:  http://www.pizzagarden.ca/

They don't take bitcoin, but they make some of the best pizza I've ever ate.

Happy Bitcoin-Pizza Day everyone!

I went with "Pizza Point" via takeaway.com (paid with Bitcoin).  They managed to impress.
