Eh, I don't think that means anything really. He understands what bitcoin is basically all about and has chosen not to invest in it--plus with all the money he has, he'd have a very hard time buying any without coming close to cornering the market and in the process driving up the price. He's got enough investments in stocks and businesses that are making him tons of money, so he doesn't need to buy any bitcoin.

I don't know about $250k by 2023, but it certainly could happen. I never thought bitcoin would hit $10k when it did the first time, so I've kind of learned to expect the unexpected. 2023 is a ways away, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Now that’s a new kind of prediction first people were saying prices would go up to 1 lakh and now according to Tim it can touch $250k while these predictions look good on paper, in reality it’s very difficult to achieve it even in 2023. The only part about his prediction I’ll agree is that Bitcoin can become a major method of exchange, as it’s insanely cheap and fast to send funds abroad using bitcoins.

Why not 2.5 million, since we're looking at arbitrary years ahead from now (4.5 years, I know, but really, that's arbitrary). If these guys just spent half the time they do donating to Bitcoin developers instead of spewing out numbers with half-assed underlying foundations, maybe they'd actually get their predictions right;)

Cryptocurrency will never be the primary means of payment. Cryptocurrency is simply not yet capable of this. It was conceived only as an alternative means of payment, which suggests its supporting role in relation to ordinary currency. There are many reasons for this.
As for the high price values of bitcoin, including its price of $ 250,000, I also do not think that bitcoin can ever reach such a price. Bitcoin users themselves will not allow this. There are certain economic laws and market laws that will always prevent the price of any cryptocurrency from rising to such heights.

It's very easy why personalities such as Tim Draper is really shilling for bitcoin. This guy is one of the early bag holders and I'm sure majority of his money is on bitcoin. So obviously he needs to pump the market with his exorbitant claims. But who knows, he could be right, so just imagine, owning 1 BTC and just holding it for the next 4-5 years, and what's more if you got like 10-100 BTC by that time. Grin

There are only 2 scenarios:
1. bitcoin hits 6 digits by end of 2021
2. bitcoin dies.

Either one is possible, but any other scenario I don't think is possible.

It's not unrealistic if you factor in the fact that most bitcoins held today will be in new hands. Wink

Now Draper has so many that I'm sure he will still hold plenty until he dies, but he is a very rare case.

This is a Speculation topic. Tim has been bullish to bitcoin and has been speculating many times that the price would be higher. And these medias take every words that he say.

I'd like to happen that $250,000 by 2023 but how many times these known people predicted and got it wrong? they should just teach the people about fundamentals instead of giving them numbers and predictions.

People and this media outlets never tired of hearing his/their bullish statements regarding on bitcoin price? while in reality the price just sits this base. Price will not go for that range too soon as long whales are just relaxing and no bullish news and implementation from big internet companies.

A billionaire can surely say such crazy things And many analysts have already adjusted their predicted price but Tim Draper still believes that it will continue to pursue the $250,000 USD and that bitcoin will be the futures payment mechanism, And that Bitcoin will sustain above $12,000 USD then $12,500 will be the next target and as we see another all-time high,

Well, I guess it is a small-time to pursue another all-time high but in my opinion, there is a voice in my heart that wants to believe that we can reach another all-time high this coming end of 2019 and wishing that it can be real this time.

I always loved Tim Draper's optimism when it comes to bitcoin and crypto and we all know how solid of a permabull Tim is, but sometimes his predictions go off the charts and just like Tommy Lee, he sometimes jinx his own predictions and bitcoin prices go south. Anyway though, 2023 is still a far off date; just a little short of 4 years and we all know how dynamic things work in the crypto world. $1M by 2020 is already crossed out, and we don't know whether John McAfee will ever cut his dick on TV by then, but $250K in 4 years is still a pretty much doable figure so yeah, we'll see about that.

Come on! This is not news anymore, is this? I wonder why some crypto publications still spend time and effort for pronouncements such as this. Tim Draper, Mike Novogratz, Max Keiser, John McAfee, and several others have always been releasing very bullish statements-- to the point of exaggeration-- about Bitcoin's price. The last I heard from one of them is that Bitcoin is gonna hit $15,000 within the week. Well, we have an hour and a few minutes left and Bitcoin is still at $11,300.
