Bitcoins will do VERY well this year!
2017 is the most volatile year of bitcoin, although it is not a big fluctuation, its value has not changed too much, but somehow has shown its instability. Beside that instability, it shows stability and extreme development, the value of bitcoin goes up to its peak and lasts a long time. Bitcoin has shown us its value, its nice and wonderful. Although btc is in trouble and branched out, its value is still maintained, so I believe the hardfork will end up with nice results for bitcoin.
to me i think this year will be ore favorable for bitcoin, as we can see from the very start of 2017 that the price of bitcoin is increasing continously and hope that that bitcoin price will cross 2000 USD level in this year. I beleive bitcoin will really progress in 2017, as day by day bitcoin has been increasing its adoption and growth towards the development. Bitcoin atm is a nice idea and many are hoping this to happen. If this happen many users will love to adopt its development.

There is no big problem except transaction confirmation taking time due to blockchain block size and that too is under observations and will come out with a solution soon.
I will never leave the bitcoin community because of the high commissions on the transaction. I like to use bitcoin. But I still hope that the system will remain the same as we all are used to

i agree as long as prices keep going up for bitcoin it will receive heated up attention from critics and national monetary bodies
especially for a year like 2017 where price records were broken and more legal battles are still to be fought as they try to establish were bitcoin fits. I believe it will come out top of this

People are more and more turning towards altcoins which worries me the most, I too have invested in some altcoins but still my main crypto currency will always be Bitcoin.
If we get through the problems of transaction delay and transaction fees then I think there is a bright future for Bitcoin as well as to us.
And whats worse is some problems are until now left unsolved for years but thankfully, there are also many improvements so we can conclude that there is a balance between the positive and negative sides on bitcoin .
People investing towards altcoins doesn't mean they will abandon bitcoin, They are just considering the possibilities . Watching the market, Altcoins indeed have a promising future, Some of them even have features that the bitcoins doesn't have . Most people who buy alts are traders with bitcoin as their main cryptocurrency so its is actually a good thing somehow to keep bitcoin circulating .

If bitcoin will be like an electronic gold (to invest in it and it only should hold the value or rise it slowly), in that case the transaction delays are more or less acceptable, so there's no need for a prompt fix.
But in the last situation, we need something (altcoin, etc.) to do the everyday transactions with (e.g. to share the cost of the Saturday night beers with friends, without cash, bank card, etc)
I hope we'll have the answer soon which is the way forward...

I hope the price of bitcoin as 2016, can take up to 4-fold. I hope the years also can be just the end of the year the price reach $4000 at the end of the year.
That is to optimistic, price can`t reach 4000$ until the end of the year. Staying on +1000$ is good for now, we saw that bitcoin can hold +1200$ for some time, and until this year reasonable is to predict price around 1500$. I don`t say that price can`t be higher, I always expect surprise when I think about bitcoin price, I just say that steady grow until the end of the year will be good for community, much better then some crazy pump.
I don't know if the possible fork will be good for bitcoin or not, because both parties have their own pros and cons. I think the better would be to work out the decision about the fork asap, because it affects the price now. Some people buying back fiat because of the rumours of the hard fork, so we need to have a clear view as soon as possible. Any advice in this situation is only speculation. A quick decision would help bitcoin the most now. If this uncertain situation will last long, that would just drop the prices, and would only frighten away the possible investors (especially the bigger ones).
BU is looking less and less plausible by the day, and essentially the pools that are expressing an interest in changing up the blockchain and moving to something that scales the blocksize are choosing Segwit over BU right now. The only realistic hard fork we can be seeing is a change to Segwit, and even that might take a while before anything really starts rolling.
I don't know if the possible fork will be good for bitcoin or not, because both parties have their own pros and cons. I think the better would be to work out the decision about the fork asap, because it affects the price now. Some people buying back fiat because of the rumours of the hard fork, so we need to have a clear view as soon as possible. Any advice in this situation is only speculation. A quick decision would help bitcoin the most now. If this uncertain situation will last long, that would just drop the prices, and would only frighten away the possible investors (especially the bigger ones).
