Hmm, that is why my client is STILL synchronizing with network for already 7 days?

Most likely not. I was just pointing out the problem with a false positive. This does not mean that there is a technical problem with the Bitcoin client. But there is a psychological problem if it shows up as a virus in even just one of the scan engines at Virustotal, of course.

I just checked the current Bitcoin Client v. 0.8.5 for viruses and got a hit:

VirusTotal Report for bitcoin-0.8.5-win32-setup.exe

https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/6f6b8fd68f56a8e700090267c53aa592b9c9e5c993f44c7be11ba9b87e1f92bb/analysis/1382185873/

AhnLab-V3 Trojan/Win32.BitCoinMiner

It is probably a good idea to contact the Ahnlab Antivirus to verify and remove the false positive,
as this makes a bad impression for anyone checking the official Bitcoin Client with Virustotal.

Ahnlab is the market leader in AV-technology in South Korea,
so this is should really be an issue for asian Bitcoin users.  Undecided

opted to go with multibit after bitcoin-qt simply would not grab non-corrupted database files.  over... .and over.... and over again.  multibit is great.  Smiley

BDB0055 illegal flag specified to DB_ENV->open

config still fails at this, have to manually edit it

I was seeing
Code:
illegal flag combination specified to DB_ENV->open
in db.log too as well as using the latest version from github with libdb5.1.
Removing wallet.dat didn't help.
Changing to libdb4.8 fixed the issue. You can find them in the PPA if you're using ubuntu.

I'm synchronizing with network. It's really boring, but I must do it.

If you want to use the Bitcoin-Qt client you have to. It's the most secure wallet. If you don't want to download the chain then you can use another client like Electrum and or Armory.
Or an online wallet but I don't recommend using those. I recenty had to re-index the chain -.-  It was the second time I ever had to do this since I initially downloaded the client a few months ago.
Yes it takes a long while depending on your computers capability but in the end if you take the correct measures you can rest assured that you're using one of the most secure wallets.
I mean, look what's happening to Inputs.io right now, and it claims ultimate security.

Bitcoin-QT can be used as portable. But it communicates to much with usb stick. And it works very very slow. Is there any development works for that?
This is inherent in storing the entire blockchain. USB sticks are notoriously slow with this workload. I suggest using a lightweight client if you need it to be portable.

What will be supported is storing the blockchain in a different place as the wallet. So if you just need the wallet to be portable, that would be useful I guess.

Hello Gavin Andresen. I would like to put an idea forward for the QT client.

A little bit of an update to wallets and layout.

Instead of having 1 total balance for all of your address to have next to each address a small box with amount of coin that address has in it and have the total as is.

This would be a nice little feature so you know how much coin is in each address. Hope to see this in your client.

If you use the Coin Control patch you'll be able to not only see what balance is in each address (with even repeated addresses due to receiving more than one payment there) but also pick which entries you'd like to use to make new payments.

Where do I get that from?

A thread like this would count as one. The plain-HTTP sf.net files area does not.

The PGP-signed SHA256SUMS.asc is the right idea but requires extra steps to check.
