Scams are very common in the crypto market. If you want to avoid this, then get the best coin that does not allow this. AML BitCoin rests on a privately regulated public blockchain that facilitates AML-KYC compliance and identifies criminals associated with illicit transactions while maintaining and strengthening the privacy protections for legitimate users.

How these scammer can even sleep and not be afraid of karma catching them eventually?

Anyways.. keep your eyes open and before sending money to someone, know exactly for what you are sending the money for and check their background.

Not all people believe in karma and obviously not the scammers.
They will be around as long as there are people who are falling to their schemes.

Just read this article, a nice piece about Bitcoin scams with an example - http://cryptofinance24.com/how-not-to-scam-people-p428-171.htm
The example story about one scam there is just hilarious. The scam is so bad, but people still fall for it  Huh Huh Huh

So, have you ever got scammed, or know some good stories to share with others to help them learn from others mistakes?

I think 60% of the users on this forum has been scammed at least once. I have seen lot of scams in the casino environment, when is about get money people can be really creative.

I have been scammed by users asking for loans and then running away, and i have been scammed by casinos who decide to keep my money and block my withdrawals.

Some years ago the biggest bitcoin scams was based on Ponzi, now days we don't see much ponzi, but we see lot of ICO's ending in scam. So, let's play it smart and be careful.
fraud is happening with the development of time, whatever is now the trend that will be used as fraudulent land, at that time ponzi is very trendy and fraudsters go around looking for prey behind the scenes of ponzi, and the current trend is ico's investment
they also roam mines a lot with popular and convincing ico themes

Very difficult to avoid fraud. nowadays there are scams everywhere even outside the crypto currency community. It is our duty to be more careful about our own assets before someone does something bad about them.

I think it's great that we increase the awareness of this type of scams. Yes, we have been around for some time, but there's also a lot of fresh blood and people who haven't seen these things and might not spot them as fast as we can.

People, don't get scammed  Grin

That such a sucks article, even the website is not secure, be careful with reading articles in random websites, sometimes they inject a virus for detecting your private key or making you copy their address to make you lost your money

I have great updated antivirus, nothing detected. Been reading news there for some time now because they got great articles. Seems like a legit site to me.

That's the first thing I noticed though, the site is not secure.

"if it's too good to be true". This old adage is very applicable to bitcoin ecosystem. As for those who have been victimized by the scammers, its really a expensive lessons for them to learn. Admittedly, I have been scammed when I was just beginning my journey here. I invested on HYIP (which at that time, I never knew about it). Got my initial returns, and I thought, wow its easy to make money but after a few days of re-investing, the sites went on a maintenance mode and no one could withdraw their funds. The rest is history but it teaches me valuable lessons. So just be careful and don't be the next statistics on the growing list of scam victims.

Good article. This is really helpful for BTC users. So be aware from Crypto Scammers.

Scammers are everywhere in the world even in and out crypto. Where there is money involved bad people will take advantage and try to victimized others and steal money that are not belong to them. But if scammers are wise we must be wiser. We must be one step ahead of them. Before they can take our money from us we should be aware of there strategy before its too late.

Since i'm new in cryptocurrency. I got scammed 2 times Cry. The investment sites scammed me Btc and Eth. I fall into investing to them because of their promise 100 percent return of investment. then after that happened. I learned my self to study first and to invest to a right place. And i don't let this will happen again.

Yes, it is extremely important to do your homework in crypto-world before investing. Actually, that's true about any investment decision you make.

So, have you ever got scammed, or know some good stories to share with others to help them learn from others mistakes?

I'll tell my stories. Let's start at the beginning:

In 2015 I got an email from a guy who said he was in the hospital and that he was rich and he was dying but he had no heir and the guy asked me to be his heir but I should send him $ 150 for Wester Union. I did not have that money but I confess that I wanted to ask for loan to send to the guy, The guy noticed that I did not have the  $150 and stopped sending me email

Months later I got email from a guy who promised 200% returns if I invested in your business, I did not even ask what business he was talking about and I sent him $ 30 and never received anything.

that's why I hate scammers. Scammers take people's money and take people's hopes.

In the crypto world, there will still be a name for fraud, so before we enter the crypto world, we must know the risks that will occur, and because we are required to be more careful in cryptocurrency, especially in the form of investment, therefore we learn and keep trying so that we can avoid the name fraud.

Scammers are in any field. So everything in this world is a scam? A fork (for eating Grin) can be killed. Forbidding forks? Fraud is committed to people, not bitcoin.
It's rather unfortunate that those who normally fall for these kind of scams will later fall for almost seems similar one in the near future.  Their greed and their inability to learn from their mistakes will always be their doom.

It's really sad to see people keeps falling for all those scams. I can see many crypto related Twitter account have added the line to  there name, to do not give away Eth, because there follows though that they would get free ethereum from a scammer with a lookalike name.
