Looks like we have been accepted for the next revision of Unicode! Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be news or a thread about this... Only a twitter announcement, but I bet this will be discussed a lot in the next few hours Smiley

What do you all think? I think this is great news!
I think it's great too. Althought this news will not affect anything to Bitcoin price but that's the signal that Bitcoin is notice by everyone all over the world so that it presents a good chance for Bitcoin to grow up in the future, we should be happy for that news Smiley

I had never seen at any place of the symbol news of the Bitcoin anywhere and also don't know about the unicode .
But a recent news is came in my friend circle and also in YouTube news that the symbol of the Bitcoin as an emoji will be
Added to the WhatsApp , so now I am thinking that if it will happen then j am 100% sure that the symbol of Bitcoin will be
Accepted by many other platforms and keyboards also .
Well here we should wait until they launch the system and then we can use them  Grin with excitement
Edit:1
From Google source :
an international encoding standard for use with different languages and scripts, by which each letter, digit, or symbol is assigned a unique numeric value that applies across different platforms and programs.

Now I understand this thing , now hopping that we will find it at every place of social media Smiley

Bitcoin Sign is finally a part of the Unicode 10.0 standard. Smiley

Quote from: 'Unicode 10.0'
Bitcoin Sign. U+20BF bitcoin sign represents the bitcoin, a cryptocurrency and payment
system invented by programmers. A cryptocurrency such as the bitcoin works as a medium
of exchange that uses cryptography to secure transactions and to control the creation of
additional units of currency. It is categorized as a decentralized virtual or digital currency.

There's no BITCOIN SIGN (U+20BF) in Unicode 9.0. Sad

It seems that we have to wait another version (minor?).

U+20BF is now official. It's just a matter of time before the font maintainers put it in their fonts. I'm guessing very soon.

Unicode 9.0 will be released in June, so you probably won't see official fonts released before then. If you just want a font to play around with, luke-jr has made a font with the Bitcoin symbol in its official place here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3refb4/btc_symbol_added_to_droid_and_console_fonts/

In any case, thank you to the bitcointalk.org participants who helped me with the proposal - the original thread is here if you're curious: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/proposal-to-add-bitcoin-symbol-to-unicode-1170902

Does it mean we will be able to use it on Android smartphones too? Because im really slow at digital typing and I hate to put "BTC" all the time. I would love to just press on a symbol so people know im talking about BTC. Saves a lot of time and is way more stylish than using 3 big letters. No one says USD 1000 when you can say $1000 right.

Another thumbs up from me! Hopefully this will not only standardize the use of the symbol and ready for mainstream to arrive!
