Well, a few days, I noticed an improvement in the speed of bitcoin transactions. perhaps because I do not really need the BTC when I sent it, so it was noticeably faster. but, sometimes when I really needed bitcoin, it seemed very long 
Just like a kid waiting for Christmas, whenever you are waiting on something it always feels longer.Still better than the banks, with them sometimes you can't even see the transaction for a few business days
so, basically it is fast but not fast? does it really depend on the fee?
as far as i experienced paying with bitcoin takes seconds, once you scan QR code and then done. it said done but maybe the block is still not confirmed?

Yes sir, I think very quickly, before I knew bitcoin, I sent money via wire transfer, web money, paypal and so forth, all of which need verification for quite a while, but send and accept bitcoin in just 10 minutes.
Whenever i was depositing bitcoin in some casino or paying some merchants i usually attach higher fee so that it can get faster confirmation in other cases like when i was sending bitcoin from one address to another address which i will not be spending in next few days it is ok to get it confirmed after few hour so i try to save some bitcoin in fees.

As long as you pay enough fees you haven't to worry much about if it gets confirmed or not.
But sometime when you are in hurry we are unlucky sometimes and the transaction may get delayed and not included in the first next blocks.

I agree that bitcoin transaction is instant and fast With in a few seconds you make a transaction, you can see that in the chain of transactions waiting to be approved or confirmed. if we compare with other bank transactions Bitcoin transactions are very fast, we will get a confirmation message within a few minute.
Bitcoin transactions are truly fast enough because I haven't experience any problem with it.
Those people who are experiencing slow transactions sometimes are not putting miners fee. Good thing that if you are using blockchain.
There is already an automatic deduction for the miners fee and that's very cheap you don't have worry about it because that will guarantee.

Already put reliable fees but sometimes, the spam will make it useless, and being in the low priority.

Type of wallet doesn't really matter as the transaction fee is the leading factor. If your transaction has a lower than average fee, then pools will most likely ignore your transaction for a while as they give priority to transactions with higher fees as that will result in a higher income. That's why if you send a transaction that needs to get confirmed pretty soon, you must add an above average fee to get pools to pick up your transaction.

Because we have patience, we were able to understand the network sometimes, and besides, delayed transaction does not happen all the time. To be honest it seems possible to conduct BTC transactions in physical stores no matter how long it takes to go through except it's up to the store owner in the end of it all.
But using those debit cards is just a workaround, and not a solution to the problem of confirmation time, if we want to reach the point where we use bitcoin in our every day lives the issue must be addressed. I think bitcoin transactions have been classified as transactions quickly. The time it takes only 1 minute to 3 hours and would be much longer if there was a slight problem.
Your right. But, fast or slow transactions are also influenced by mining. Because, In bitcoin mining is the process of spending the computing power to process the transaction, securing networks, and make everyone in the system are synchronized together.
Compared to fiat, fast. Compared to altcoins, slow. Speed is relative
I had some problems with transaction confirmation time a few days ago, it took something about a hour for the transaction to be confirmed. It seems like the same thing happened to other users.
If the proposal is to reach the mainstream, I think things should improve, hopefully with lightning network things will change next year.

But IMO, it caused by the spam transaction and which mean it can be increasing the priority fees anytime, and if that was happening and your transaction will automatically be getting in the deprioritize zone.
But i don't think if LN will be changing all lot of the thing. May the blocksize increase can become the right way for that.
