It is very funny and at the same time sadden me due to the fact that some of my "kababayan" does not know where our country is located.  But I was at the same time happy that they found this forum and know Bitcoin than what region they came from.  One vote added to the Southeast Asia region.  Great work there HabBear hope you get all the details you need.

I will like to know why you differentiate Russia from Europe, how are you going to classify the likes of Ukraine?

How do Ukrainians classify themselves? As part of Asia? As part of Europe? As Russia?

I'll let the good folks from Ukraine select the option that best suits them.

Thanks for the question.

Hi, thanks for your vote!

I understand your concern about the income and age polls, but I'd like to remind you that voting in the poll is completely anonymous. I receive no information about who participates, only the same results that you see at the top of the thread. You don't have to post anything in the thread, we just need your vote.

Please reconsider and share these polls with others you know on the forum!

I just broke the tie between Asia - SouthEast (south of China), North America (Panama and north) & Europe. I am from South East Asia, to be more specific, Singapore.

I don't think I will be able to vote on future polls of this series as I do not feel comfortable revealing others information such as age and monthly income - though I am open for Bitcoin balance. Smiley.

Bitcoin User Poll Project

I'm developing a series of polls to identify some demographics about the bitcoin community, using the forum participants as a sample group for the larger bitcoin community. Please help me by completing the polls as they are posted. Feel free to share comments or debate the results as well.

The polls will cover the following topics - age, location, monthly income, bitcoin balance, etc.

These polls taken together can provide us a good picture of what the community looks like. I'll be happy to post all aggregated results here so everyone can benefit from the data.

Please spread the word to other users so we can great a response as possible!

Thanks!

---------------

Feel free to list the country where you live below!

It's look interesting and I hope everyone here willing to involve but honestly and fair.
Good to see how much we are and where we're from, just for a big picture right.
So far,  Europe, Asia and North America dominate the polls.

That's really great to have geographical information of the bitcoin users. I am glad to see around 10% of bitcoin users are from my country but to be honest, it's far less than my expectations. The percentage of bitcoin users in my country is less than 0.1% of the overall population but I see an optimistic picture for next 10 years and I am sure, we will have at least 10% active bitcoin users as compared with the current situation.

Even though I know bitcoin is not popular in my area, I still feel sorry to see it.

I just answered all of your polls but may I make a suggestion.

Put a link to each poll in each op. So that way if some one finds one poll they find them all.

Yep. Agreed. Like this one, it's probably not getting as many participants as your other polls because it's already been pushed to page 2.

Anyway, voted for South East Asia. Also, until when will these polls run or how many participants are you aiming for before completing your demographic?

Though this poll is not the exact representation of demographics using Bitcoins still it is good to see that 2 out of 30 people are from India.

Filipino friends, if you'd like to participate in the poll you need to cast your vote for "Asia - Southeast (South of China)". I'm trying to maintain some consistency in the "Location Region" question. If I select certain countries we compromise the data and if I were to open this up to all countries we'd have 250+ choices!

I am a proud bitcoin user from Philippines too. Sad to say I can't vote in your poll, I can't see Philippines in the list and I can't vote on south east asia since are other small countries at those places not just us.

Thanks for your comments too! I can always add your vote in at the end if you decide not to participate the way I've structured this. Please tell your forum friends to come by and vote!

My Filipino friends, why so eager for your own country? Let us celebrate ASEAN and acknowledge that it is rare even for a Southeast Asian category, happy to see that and have marked myself there - because truly Asia does not do justice to the continent and to the archipelagos that lie where we are.

This person has the right idea, thanks for your support!

I am Malaysian, and count one Indonesian and many from the Philippines in the 6 votes above.

Bitcoin was quite popular, but the 2 BTC ATMs installed near the capital are now defunct, so that speaks some volume. Otherwise, there are other alts upcoming and the Malaysians I know interested in crypto, aren't as much advocates as they are entrepreneurs looking for the next big thing. No harm of course.

Add Philippines in the poll, there's plenty of users here. It's getting popular in our country and the government are already in the process of making regulations about bitcoin, sooner or later we will be complying with the laws and it will also help the spread the news among people. Good project mate, keep it up, I hope many will participate.

I hope you could put Philippines in the poll. Anyway, I am now seeing people here in the locality (from what I see in facebook) owning atleast a online bitcoin wallet from a known exchange here.

I'm from Africa and I'm a bit surprised to see that there are also others from my continent on this forum because bitcoins is not yet widespread down here... glad to know we were not so few Grin

Which part of Africa are you from? I would expect South Africa to be well exposed to bitcoin, certainly more so than other countries in the continent. Bitcoin can be quite useful in developing countries - where the potential for inflation of currency can be high and income relatively low. The greatest challenges is for people in these countries having access to the technology required to transact bitcoin.

I'm glad you're involved in the industry and hope you can spread the adoption some in your area of the world!

Good luck to your poll. I hope you can add Philippines instead of just putting Southeast Asia. There are many Filipinos that are doing signature campaigns and so I think our country the Philippines should be included in your list. Gathering statistical data in this forum is a good way to get a baseline data so you can make a good projection in the most number of bitcoin users in a certain country.
Hello sir I'm from Philippines also the land of rising star. Yes they are many Filipinos doing signature campaign here in this forum. I think also Philippines have many bitcoin user and most them are active daily.  Philippines have own wallet called coins.ph you may use it to cashout and buy bitcoin . they have also many more use buying loads, paying bills and gadgets. As of now I think millions user we have and everyday it is continue counting. And my country have bitcoin ATM but its only 3  I think correct if I'm wrong and use of that coin it easily to buy bitcoin and cashout your bitcoin into cash.
