Don't bother. It is not worth watching the video to find the 5 secs of some random person associating Bitcoin with white supremacists.

Let them, if they take the narrative that Bitcoin is evil “because white supremacist” and refuse to HODL, in 10 years from now they’ll learn that 2022 was still a golden opportunity. The hard way. Bitcoin hasn’t priced in its true nature in geo-politics.

The only thing new with this is that bitcoin has some white supremacist in it, now I'm not to deny that fact but that kind of thinking that puts bitcoin in a bad spot isn't really the best thing for me because I believe that we can't just put something in pedestal and mock it and call it names without seeing all sides and weighing whether which one has more gravitas. I wouldn't really pay attention to this kind of biased media, they only want to make things look bad.

Same old same old accusations that have died on their own due to lack of merit. But this new white supremacist accusation against Bitcoin is rather surprising. How the heck did they come up with such an idea?

Satoshi Nakamoto itself is not known to be white or black or whatever. Surely, he/she/they know the English language well, and yet the name is Asian, Japanese in particular. There's Mayor Suarez who's probably of Hispanic Origin. There's Mayor Adams of New York who's black. There's Andrew Yang who's of Asian or Taiwanese descent.

I mean, how did they associate Bitcoin with white supremacy?

It's not a good PR for Bitcoin community to associate itself with one part of a highly polarized environment. Left vs right, republicans vs democrats, pro-vax vs anti-vax, etc. The other side will view Bitcoin community as a part of their opponents, seriously limiting the room for potential adoption. And it's not like whomever you support is going to like or appreciate Bitcoin. Remember how some people were calling Obama a socialist and were saying that Trump will embrace Bitcoin? And then Trump started spewing FUD because he got scared that Bitcoin is a competition for USD.

OP, Bitcoin is apolitical, neutral, and open for everyone without discrimination. Do I support them white supremacists, or racists, or the Ketamine dealer from the dark markets? No. Does it mean Bitcoin is “evil”? No. Is it censorship-resistant? Yes. Does it mean Bitcoin is working as it was intended? YES. Good. Cool

What is your own opinion on this development?
What development? The Bitcoin community has always welcomed white supremacists, alt-rightists, neo-Nazis, self-identified-"libertarians"-who-are-actually-just-conservatives-who-want-to-smoke-pot, and other such scum. This isn't news. The mainstream media's just a little slow on the uptake (that's not news either).

Part in the video mentioning Canadian Government freezing fiat donations through Gofundme and GiveSendGo starts at 6:00. The Fox News commentator is actually right when he said that it's pushing people towards cryptocurrencies and blockchain is pretty tough for authorities to control. I don't get the idea that crypto guys has to be white supremacists in order to be considered as a threat to the Government. So it's just nothing if it's only other races adopts it?

~ What is your own opinion on this development?
Nothing new. They are discrediting bitcoin to discourage people from donating. By the way, who was that lady in the video? Is she someone from the Government too or a CNBC commentator?

What is your own opinion on this development?
What development? If they had said anything else we should have been surprised.

In the light of the recent Freedom Convoy which started in Canada to protest the strict mandates coming from their government and the subsequent outpouring of financial donations to the truckers which are blocked by those in the government so the money can never go to truckers and then the move to instead use Bitcoin, left-leaning media personalities are now accusing Bitcoin to be the haven of white supremacists, money launderers, drug traffickers and anything illegal they can claim of!

Here is the video from Fox News: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-E3S_vEzsA
