Is it true that bitcoin is not affected by the altcoins? I am thinking it would have been better if only bitciin is existing as it will have more value, though bitcoin can not be compared to altcoins in many ways as it is the first and the giant.
Bitcoin is affected by altcoins but from what i notice no situation altcoins can fine itself that will make it more valuable than bitcoin, despite that all has it primary functions, and altcoins investment makes bitcoin to have more firms, some people don't go into bitcoin investment but they took the risk to invest in new project of altcoins knowing that profit manifestation occur in altcoins than bitcoin during in investment so that is a point i know that altcoins is affecting bitcoin, but the risks of losing your investment is more known in altcoins than bitcoin

I am pretty sure that bitcoin would have been great with or without altcoins, I am also sure that altcoins (the good ones) helped bitcoin grow bigger as well. These two things are not mutually exclusive, you could be great all by yourself, and still get help from other coins as well.

I do believe that bitcoin was already on a good path without all these altcoins came along, there were a few during the early days, like the first 5 years between 2009 to 2014 there were a few, but none of them really picked up this much and bitcoin was still doing awesome. At the end of the day altcoins became big and that certainly increased the love for crypto for sure.

I would add that altcoins surely added some more usage for the crypto and that brought more adoption. I'm not saying that Bitcoin wouldn't be adopted by people if it weren't for altcoins, but that adoption would be slower if it weren't for altcoins.

Bitcoin may or may not reach that point if there is no altcoins , but remember that people loves Bitcoin because of its volatility and in the beginning anonymity , but of course nowadays we cannot confirmed about being anonymous , so either Bitcoin may reached the top value if there is no altcoins  or not? yet we know how to trust and believe bitcoin .

Altcoins are growing as bitcoin and altcoins attract investors to enter the crypto space. Bitcoin and altcoins are mutually reinforcing and mutually support the cryptocurrency space. Indeed, many altcoins are just shitcoins, but some altcoins are even able to attract more investors and become popular like Ethereum which is the number 2 coin after Bitcoin.

altcoin hype was not so affected on bitcoin because Bitcoin became the main hype of altcoin rise. All will follow bitcoin.
Bitcoin needs altcoins to continue to grow crypto market transactions, but bitcoin doesn't need shitcoins which only cost a lot of people.

Even with the existence of several altcoin bitcoin still possess it's own dominance making it's value unaffected by altcoin price or fluctuation rather the opposite is the case. When ever there is a pump in bitcoin price it reflects on altcoin and same thing happen when there is a drought. But if an altcoin experience an upsurge due to hype or high demand it has no effect on bitcoin value
It is true that regardless of how many altcoins are created, in terms of volatility bitcoin is largely unaffected by altcoin hype. But without altcoins, I think crypto wouldn't be as popular as they are today.
Bitcoin creates the market but it is the altcoins that make the market grow and become vibrant attracting investors when creating trends in the market. So altcoins play an important role in the market, without altcoins people would have nothing to compare with bitcoin and we wouldn't know bitcoin is special.

Yes, maybe it can happen, but it doesn't seem like it has a big effect on the value of BItcoin. Maybe only a small addition will be received by Bitcoin. Seeing that there are now many Altcoins but the value of Bitcoin still cannot be seconded. Bitcoin has survived and is strong until now, it is a proof that Bitcoin can indeed stand strong despite the emergence of new altcoins.

I don’t think that bitcoin's value would have increased if there were no altcoins. The reason that bitcoin is so costly is probably because of the competition coming from altcoins. Moreover, bitcoin has a place in people’s lives and it won’t get affected, whether or not there are altcoins.
you used that Highlighted word ? meaning you are not sure about that?

Yes it is right that if no altocoins bitcoins will might get more value in this world everyone has their own identity and competition and who came first in any sector will always be respected, bitcoins has their own holders or traders. From 2017 as I entered into this industry bitcoin was at 1000$ and there is 2000+ altocoins but now we cross almost 15k altocoins bitcoin price has increased to 60 X so no matters who comes or goes a performer will always going to win.

If they are called "altcoins" there is a reason, and I think there is enough space for everybody in this world. Bitcoin probably will always be the king but tokens like ETH etc actually help the growth of the sector. Many people wouldn't invest in bitcoin just because "now it's too expensive" and they prefer to buy altcoins, but then they eventually end up understanding more about bitcoin as well, so it's kind of win-win situation. Of course the downside are all the scams.

I believe that it works the other way around. While not all altcoins get affected by the price of bitcoin at all times, the majority does get affected by the swings of bitcoin most of the time. But butcoin though is different it can make do whatever the other coin's prices are which has always been the case ever since I can remember. But this does not mean that altcoins are not necessary. We also have to take note that altcoins also bring traffic into this industry specially nowadays as the crypto gaming and NFTs emerge and continuously gets hyped. Main take is that altcoins are necessary but not vital for the existence of bitcoin.

and this mean only one thing , that Bitcoin is valuable because there are altcoin to compete but if there are no altcoin invented/created? I'm sure that bitcoin may not succeed like what it has now.
because the popularity will not increase as there are no option to invest with.
Bitcoin and altcoins need each other, I'm sure without altcoins bitcoin will not last until now, maybe it's dead before it's worth $1...

For your information, Bitcoin was worth $ 1 before any altcoin existed. Altcoins were introduced in 2011 with Namecoin being the first and, for a short time, the only alternative to Bitcoin.

but 1$ value?  so how could we expect increase like now?  when there are no competition at all? this means only that Bitcoin increase its value because of the presence of altcoins.

Without altcoins there would be no competition then bitcoin would not be as prominent as it is now. We cannot compare altcoins with bitcoin but thanks to their diversity and many advanced technologies, altcoins have helped crypto develop and increasingly attract the crypto community.
In terms of value, bitcoin is not dependent on any altcoins. As we have seen, the functioning of the market depends on bitcoin. bitcoin drop all altcoins will almost fall, but altcoins drop bitcoin will not fall.
Exactly without altcoin, there will have been a lot of scalability issues in the cryptocurrency community and this diversity hard helped the crypto industry to be able to meet up with emerging real-time demand on the cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin networks has a kind of right algorithm and this make it to depend on the altcoin even though Bitcoin can survive alone.

Even it may be true, there is no way that you will just have only bitcoin. This is like a normal thing in every market, there will always be competitors. But, the good thing is that bitcoin stays at the top no matter what and in the years to come I believe that it is also going to remain at the top. Bitcoin has this advantage because it is the pioneering cryptocurrency, so it will be difficult for any other cryptocurrency to overtake it. And the reason why having other cryptocurrencies will not have any negative impact on bitcoin is because bitcoin is well-known than every other cryptocurrencies and investors always go for bitcoin at every time.

BTC to the MOON in 2019

Is it true that bitcoin is not affected by the altcoins? I am thinking it would have been better if only bitciin is existing as it will have more value, though bitcoin can not be compared to altcoins in many ways as it is the first and the giant.
My opinion is that I don't think that Bitcoin will be more appreciated with the existence of altcoins. Actually, the reason why Bitcoin gains a lot of market demand coz they know that it was more valuable compared to altcoin. But in the case that there are no altcoins, they'll never know the value of Bitcoin, they must just think about the possible scam like how they look at this the first time.

Like even in the stock market, people have choices that also apply to the crypto market. So let's say that Bitcoin only exists, this never guarantees that the price went high or might it just low.

I also would like to know what bitcoin price will be like right now if she was the only crypto coin out there, with the entire market capitalization of all crypto coins right now, which is as it is in the shot below...

So lets do a little mathematics to find out what the price of bitcoin would be right now if this market cap belonged to bitcoin alone,

Total market capitalization divided by total supply of bitcoin, answer is the price bitcoin should be right now if it was the only crypto coin.
Code:
1,826,142,325,594 / 21,000,000 = 86959.158

So assuming the entire cryptocurrency market capitalization (as at the time of writing this post) belonged to bitcoin alone, then the price of bitcoin right now would be $86,959.158.
If you ask me, I did say it doesn't make much difference from bitcoin's current price, so from the above, do you think altcoins affect the price of bitcoin?

Bitcoin is GOD
Much of the altcoin market would go to Bitcoin if they suddenly were to disappear and this would mean a stronger and more expensive BTC.

Had they never existed, the total market cap of crypto which would comprise only of bitcoin would have been much smaller that's one downside. For this reason I feel like it's better that we have altcoins. Their reach in the media is greater than a bitcoin's reach would be and some people who experience cryptocurrencies in the form of altcoins would never be here if the only coin they were exposed to was bitcoin.

However such an scenario is unrealistic, even if all altcoins disappeared tomorrow I can guarantee you that there will be hundreds of altcoins after just a month of that event.

As such I think it is a waste of time to try to think how this market would look without altcoins and what it would have meant for bitcoin, because there will always be altcoins, there will be some which are decent and the majority that are worth nothing, and personally even if all my money is invested in bitcoin I prefer it this way as people should be free to create their own coins if they think they can actually create a better project than what satoshi did, as a free altcoin market gives them the chance to actually try to prove their claims.

When we talk about altcoins we should remember we are talking about Alternative coins. When we say a thing is an alternative, it is giving us hope that if we lose the main, there is a plan B. Apart from that common sense, alternatives ensure competition which will definitely keep the main in track. Bitcoin wouldn't have gained this popularity and growth without altcoins. Those altcoins that went to extinction, their value is taken by bitcoin to grow the more. The woes of altcoins is the pleasure of bitcoin but not vice versa.

Bitcoin dominates the market, that is what we see and these altcoins are relying upon it that is why we never see altcoins are affecting back to Bitcoin. But if there are no altcoins exists in the market, Bitcoin still going to grow and might even have a price compared today. So literally, Bitcoin can really be going to survive without the help of these altcoins but this seems impossible for altcoins alone.

We can assume that this is the scenario to see but I think having Bitcoin and altcoins give more interest to the public as they have options to choose from rather than just a single one.

I don't know if theirs something that does not like a competitor, if bitcoin did not have competitor like altcoins Bitcoin would have not have domination and have values also, since their is existence of othe coins that is challenging Bitcoin that is why it became more popular and viral to the world, altcoins is like supportive function to Bitcoin and i believe Bitcoin have power over any other coins, and know person values altcoins over bitcoin since i notice what is cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is one and altcoins is many, so difference is pure and never will altcoins dominate Bitcoin.
We couldnt actually tell if bitcoins value would rise up that much if ever there w ould be no altcoins existing. Pumps like this towards its value or price wouldn't be something like this but
rather be on a low scale or slow pace of movement since there's no coins for them to be worried about which i dont see for it to be good on any way also you couldnt stop
people on not to make new one which is more better and more feature packed than with bitcoin alone.Lets just face up this reality though.
