Right now if I have a piece of land lying somewhere undeveloped, I will be seriously thinking of selling it to take advantage of this current btc price. Landed property is as good as owing btc in your wallet because both of them both have long term value, lands don't usually depreciate in value except there is a natural disasater happening in that location that will force the price to devalue.
We already know how btc operates, so this is kinda tough since i would like to have them both, i will probably sell a part of the land to buy btc.  Wink

I am in this exact situation. I really would've tried selling my house and lot if not for my mother living with me at the moment. Although my property is located in a developing big city and its value keeps on increasing, I am still optimistic that bitcoin at its current price is a huge opportunity and it will provide me a better and faster return on investment. After many years of experience and observing the market, we seem to have more familiarity with the bitcoin cycle.

I've read so much about Bitcoin in recent time despite it's bearish state now, the growth I've read and seen from the inception of Bitcoin, has been so far an amazing one,
Outside making my first Bitcoin purchase on the 23rd, of October 2022, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.61204329
I'm a also a local agent for buying and selling of landed properties, and from my observations, I can say that investing in Bitcoin has some edge(advantages) over investing in landed properties as follows

Will you sell Bitcoin to buy a land or sell a land to buy Bitcoin?
What would you rather invest in?

You've only explained the positive or advantageous side of bitcoin, but mostly you haven't thought of the risk side of it, like, for example, the bear market that is happening right now, and if you already bought bitcoin around $20,000, then I am sure you've lost money. Comparing the two is difficult for me because they both have advantages and disadvantages, so we can't really compare them. For example, land value will increase year after year, but your problem now is finding buyers, and the paperwork takes a long time to process and requires a lot of effort. You can buy bitcoin while you're in bed, but the easier it is to buy, the easier it is to lose your money, so the greater the profit, the greater the risk.

Landed property value reaches certain value and beyond that it won't go high, whatever the development happening around.

With bitcoin more the demand and the limited supply keeps the market progressing in all means. Even at critical market condition the price could reach its ath as the market is dependent over the technology and not the surrounding growth.

If we compare the two, then this will be difficult. Because in my opinion, these two types of investment are worthy and promising investments. Imagine, usually, investment in landed property is also a very good investment, right? the price tends to rise, even if there is a failure, but mostly it will usually increase. In Bitcoin too, when we already know the bearish and bullish phases, we know that Bitcoin investment is also very useful and worthy. That's why, if we can invest in both, why not? We only need to collect money and manage it smartly and wisely, so that we won't get caught up in fake investments or scams.

It's crystal clear that Bitcoin is a bit ahead of landed property in some aspect.
1.In terms of using Bitcoin as medium of exchange,
Bitcoin is not far better than landed property, because the investment of Bitcoin is have what we know as fluctuations why landed property only appreciate yearly and monthly without any break, so the difference between landed investment is different from Bitcoin investment, because theirs more risk in Bitcoin price depreciation why land keep going on everytime. Only thing that we can use to regards Bitcoin more better is because of it's constantly bullish market per annual.

It is depending on the place the person is residing. Some people who has not heard about bitcoin in their life will always tell you that landed property is the best. Some people who live where it is very expensive to buy a land will tell you that bitcoin is the best because it affordable.
Everyone has their preferences according to their environment. For example, see this post that someone wants to sell their house and buy bitcoin. If the land and house investment was profitable for the person, would they want to sell it and get bitcoin?

Faster D.O.R
Faster Dividend Of Return is one advantage of Bitcoin over landed properties, as one who invests in Bitcoin now(bear run) will be smiling in no time as there might be possible Bull run before the end of next year.

Can you elaborate more on this "faster dividend on return" thing? I don't understand it.
So you are saying that profiting from the Bitcoin bull run can be called "faster dividend of return"? Can't we just call it return of investment (ROI)? Bitcoin isn't a corporation and Bitcoin doesn't pay out dividends to shareholders. That's why using the term "dividend" in one sentence with Bitcoin seems wrong to me.
Anyway, there's no point comparing BTC to investments in real estate. They are just too different.
In my country, the real estate market is going up and that's the only good thing about the place where I live.

Easy Sorting
Bitcoin can be easily sorted for as compared to lands which in some cases, takes some time to sort at a land to meet a buyer's specification and budget.

Availability
Bitcoin also as compared to land has also been readily available for purchase at all time as compared to land which might be exhausted or not available at a particular area when needed at a particular time

Ease Of Trading
Buying and selling of Bitcoin can easily be done from the comfort of one's bed, which isn't the case with landed properties as it is difficult most time to sort for potential buyers and also sellers at some points and time.

Faster D.O.R
Faster Dividend Of Return is one advantage of Bitcoin over landed properties, as one who invests in Bitcoin now(bear run) will be smiling in no time as there might be possible Bull run before the end of next year.

Will you sell Bitcoin to buy a land or sell a land to buy Bitcoin?
What would you rather invest in?

Even if the Bitcoin has many advantages over land investment, most of the people int country choose the later for investment. Let me list some reasons for this:
1) Most important thing is mindset. It took years for people to understand that land investment gives very good returns. It is now rooted in the mind of people as their parents used to discuss this in homes, they saw this in news and internet. It is very hard to remove this conditioning and replace land investment with a new form of investment like bitcoin.
2) It might sound ridiculous but people here boast of the properties they own. It is a matter of social status. On the other hand, even if you own a lot of bitcoin or other crypto, no one else will come to know about it. I know the idea to feel proud this way is stupid but we cannot change the way society operates. This is the way people think here.

However, gradually things will change and people here will also understand the benefits of crypto over land investment.

Both are two different kind of assets, one is high risk and the other one is low risk.

If we invest in landed property the price will slowly goes up with time, is a really good investment for a long term. But if we buy Bitcoin then it can multiply the investments in some days, but this high risk means we could get big profit or a huge loss in the way.

Some people buy btc at $500 and now is at $18,500, and some other buy at $50,000 and now they lose more than 50% of their investment.

if you have the funds for both, why not? diversification your portfolio is always recommended when you are talking about investments. real-estate is one of the tangible assets that is great to get a hold of because as you said, its value increase over time. and if you are here in crypto market, bitcoin is one of the best coins that you can hold because of its potential. you just need to know when is the right time to sell your btc.
If do have the money or financial capacity or capability then i would definitely be dealing with both things which we know that real estate or somewhere in correlation do really appreciates over the years.

Although it would really be depending on the property that you have bought because not all properties or lands would really be ending up valuable in due time but there's always high potential
as we can see in todays situation where it does really actually happen or could really be that possible.

Be wise on your investment and dont limit yourself out on few industries but rather acquiring lots as much as you could as long you do have the money to invest on.

To be honest with you, I would rather invest in both of them, in as much as bitcoin investment has some edge over investing in landed properties, investment in land can be very profitable too one if lucky enough of find a very cheap one in an area that develop fast.

As a Nigerian, in November 2020, I bought 1 plot of land in my area here for #600k naira, as of now, November 2022, that is 2 years, somebody bidder asked to pay #3m naira for the same land and I refused because I didn't buy the land to sell it...

So land investment can be really profitable just the same way Bitcoin investment is, just be sure to get one in a good area.
So for me, with my experience, I will rather have both, that is invest part of my income on Bitcoin and invest the remaining part on landed properties.. This is a good way to diversify ones portfolio.

Not sure this will always prove to be true. Bitcoin's certainly proven to be long-term appreciative, but if you're talking about "faster", I know where I live property has been going up for over a decade, and yes, even slowing down now because of the economy, but still positive. It's of course dependent on location and demand but my neighbour, for example, is selling this year (in a bad economy) at over 130% appreciation from when he bought in 2017.

Use that time-frame and Bitcoin would have been 300%, but only if you caught it for that beautiful brief ATH period.

I really don't think this possible bull run before end of 2023 will recapture ATH.

* Easy sorting
You can say that now because its ease of accessibility is increasing by the day. I can tell you for free it wasn't as easy as it's now buying Bitcoin in the past. Let's say the early days of Bitcoin with limited exchanges and outlets to buy from. A lot of those who wanted to invest then got swindled. Perhaps, those licensed property agents who are digitalized won't find it difficult with sorting unlike those who do theirs manually.

* Ease of Trading
The same as sorting issue. There are many interested traders (buyers and sellers) now and that makes it almost seamless transacting in Bitcoin.

I bet you need to buy at the wrong time to experience that it isn't all rosy with Bitcoin too in terms of profit making. Those who bought at ATH of $68k+ are still sobering up from that experience.

You can get bitcoin with just the amount of money you wish to purchase it, like $50 worth of bitcoin. You may not have up to the amount of money you need to purchase land. People that do not have the money for land can go for bitcoin.

Land increase in value. Bitcoin increase in value. Both are worth buying.

If someone knows about bitcoin, he would likely have bought it before buying land because he can use any amount of money to buy it unlike while land.

You have a point but still, when it comes to assurance, especially agricultural lands can give you more income if you know how to manage it rather than waiting for the crypto market to rise. When you say about selling it, yes! you are right it's hard to sell land nowadays because of low demand since only a few people can afford it. But when it comes to securing your property, I think it depends on some places where there are places lands are more precious than diamonds and in some places, it is considered ordinary assets since they can buy some at lower prices.

I couldn't answer this poll because my answer isn't in the answer bank of options.  I wouldn't necessarily want either bitcoin or land over one another, I would and do want both.  When it comes to investing, you need to diversify your assets, and these two assets really have nothing to do with one another.

Diversification is key, own land, bitcoin, stocks, bonds, precious metals etc etc.   If you need to build a house , you should buy land.  If you're looking for an alternative investment/asset, maybe bitcoin is your answer.

It is true that Bitcoin includes all the features you mentioned compared to real estate or land and more than that as well, but in the end it remains virtual and not material and many people do not trust to put all their money in something virtual even if it has many features and a great future like Bitcoin, personally I prefer to split my money equally between bitcoin and real estate or land because we need tangible physical things on the ground, I can't risk all my money on something virtual.
Good idea but both have different purposes so it's just normal to have them both. Any investors will choose that way even if they say it's safe to invest in Bitcoin but diversifying your money to make a safe investment is a wise choice. Although, the risk is always present but it's the only way I think people can make their money not to get affected by the depreciation.

Still a land property is a good way to make your money grow over the year and Bitcoin investment is somewhat new but it's kinda safe if you know what you are doing.
