I have used Mycelium on my Android tablet and Copay on my Microsoft Lumia phone and both are working great. On the browser I have used the Blockchain wallet which is newcomers friendly.

I would say blockchain.info is the most used, with coinbase following it.

I use Bitcoin Core, it's the only client I trust and feel comfortable to use. It also allows me to run a full node to support the Bitcoin network.

Browse through www.bitcoin.org and check out the different wallets.

I generally tell new users to start out with Coinbase or Circle. Once people get used to buying, selling, and using Bitcoin I tell them to get a wallet they control like Copay. For advanced users, I generally recommend Mycelium combined with a Ledger Unplugged or a Ledger HW.1. For reviews of most of these, check out the review section on my website.

Which is the most used? Any ideas? Desktop and Mobile.

If we are going to speak about mobile then I think most of people use Mycelium (for Android) , I'm not sure about iOS .
If we speak about the Desktop wallet then I'd choose Electrum since it had the seed that helps you recover your wallet in case of a computer failure or something else .
But if you have the resources (internet speed, RAM etc ...) you should run Bitcoin Core since you will be helping the network and it's more secure I suppose .

You will get plenty of answers which I guess. Unless you stated if you are looking for online wallet, mobile wallet or desktop wallet.
Anyway I am using Multibit as desktop and Mycelium as mobile wallet.
