There was an effect for a short time when bitcoin was banned at China but since China is not the only one who uses bitcoin and probably they have a big contribution in the market it doesn't mean that bitcoin will not run without them. To answer this post/question - bitcoin without china will still be the same as before Smiley
Bitcoin never affect by a country bans it, if they bans it in someday, really the price of Bitcoin will have some changes. But it not keep in long time, only panic time and rumor make the price of it falls down. Even, in that time you can spend a little of money to buy extra Bitcoin Wink

I don't see us removing China out of the picture at least not any where now that we are but its something that is possible the only thing is that it will be delayed but with consistency and expansion into other countries and multinationals taking interest in bitcoin, the people outside are still very much more than those currently involved in bitcoin.

There was an effect for a short time when bitcoin was banned at China
the "effect" or the price going down happened only because people like you are too lazy to check the validity of the news and just believe anything that they read online probably by some brand new account on bitcointalk! Grin

bitcoin was NEVER banned in China!
Whether the news is true or not, but if the statement has come from other countries then we could have never experienced such a fall. As the statement got revealed from China we're in a situation to face all the unexpected price drops. Now this has been overcome little by little. So for long years China surely have control over bitcoin moves.

don't give up on china  Grin bitcoin will never be the same without them. they will be back soon although btc can eventually make it to its new ATH, the faster it could go there when china is around. my fellow chinese investors are ready to dive back when regulations are ironed well.

Bitcoin can definitely survive without China. But in short term that is in coming days, if Bitcoin exchange ban happens, then there will be a chaos and price might again fall. But that drop will not last for many days and by October mid the price will be back on track. This is all what China can do to price. Nothing much on big scale will happen for sure.
Bitcoin has started its journey without china, but the chinese will always be following the bitcoin itself, i heard a rumor that the chinese move into other direction to able to trade the bitcoin.
They are all know that the bitcoin was really valuable.

I feel that this threat is serious. I'm just new to bitcoin and now this is what happens. I hope that there's another country that will save us and replace China.
It is really serious but not that big of a threat. China is the only one who holds most of the bitcoin and now that they have sold they are powerless with the bitcoin ecosystem. At the same time they hold most of the hashing power in mining but so long as someone replace their hashing power, we will be fine without them. For sure if they really have gone out of the seen, the mining difficulty of btc would be lessened and new more miners would begin to mine it. The only thing I would miss from them is their manipulation that almost constantly happened in the history of bitcoin.
Guys, there's nothing to worry about, china has lost its market capital and even if there's no hash power come from china the blockchain will just adjust the difficulty to the available hashpower.
china is overrated and see now, they have a little market, not an interesting thing to talk about anymore, have a little to zero affection to the market.
The last numbers I have read are that the volume traded at chinese exchanges has decreased from 90% in 2016 to about 15% that we have at the moment.
That is something we can all life with I think.
Mineres seem to be still placed at about 60% in China, that is much. But the miners were never targeted in China, so I don't think we have to worry there either.
But just from the from the point of view that contains decentralization, I would welcome it if we could distribut the mining power more equally on the globe.

With or without china bitcoin will be popular and users will keep on increasing, the proof is last 3 days stable bitcoin price and do not drop again to $ 3500. I'm sure when the price drop is a momentary panic but users are increasingly aware that that bitcoin will continue to skyrocket.

For me it does not matter China or any other country. We cannot allow monopolies of any country. This we put at risk the future of bitcoin. Lately manifested many flaws which the developers have not provided. I hope that they will not lead to collapse.
Bitcoin is good to keep with you it does not matte from which country you are, bitcoin can easily survive for long time even if the china will not support bitcoin. The power of the bitcoin is now high enough to move by itself as in my country now many people know bitcoin and they are supporting bitcoin for the huge profit, bitcoin is being use by almost all big countries like America, Japan and UK so bitcoin will remain the number one forever.
Bitcoin can't be monopolized by a country, because bitcoin is universal and can be used in some countries
I also think like you, that bitcoin has power and also has its own market power

I don't think bitcoin needs china to achieve its new heights. China is big country, it can be much beneficial for bitcoin but Many famous company like Google  Amazon achieve their new heights without invest in China. So bitcoin can also achieve its new heights without support of china.
It is true that Bitcoin don't need China to reach new heights but the thing my friend is that, it made a great impact to its value, as you can see for the last few weeks the price of Bitcoin  dumped so quickly in mass value just because of losing China. At the current state it is still fine because we know that the price of Bitcoin is incremental but then again it will have a slow progression before it get back to its normal state that is.
although the global community is trying to eliminate China but I think it will still have an impact on bitcoin. although small may be very felt once. china is a big and advanced country today. many new technologies are coming from china. when the technology is juxtaposed with bitcoin then I am sure it will make a very big power. china is a bitcoin supporter, but bitcoin will keep running. bitcoin will be stronger with the presence of china as part of the development of bitcoin.
I really want to hope that all this excitement around China with bitkoinami complicated manipulation to earn more and buy cheaper. it's very hard to believe that players can reach such a dishonest direction, but nevertheless the whole situation will do good to strengthen Bitcoin in the community. I think that if all users can survive these problems, then this will also have a positive impact on the popularization of Bitcoin. And as already stated that all the functions of China can perform very well I understood. For this, almost everything is ready.

I believe the news leaks of the Chinese government's ban on Bitcoin trading and perhaps also Bitcoin mining are not FUD anymore. We have seen BTCC and ViaBTC releasing announcements that they will terminate their exchanges by the end of this month. The rest doubtlessly will also follow.

What will happen to "a Bitcoin" without China? Do we really need them to reach new highs?

ive notice that bitcoin is hitting a plateu and wont move up the scales anymore. maybe this is because of china banning btc because china is a large country and mostly business men and inverstors are chinnese but now  ithink were dead because of these crisis. if only they could bring it back and start a new beginning  or they could just legalize it forever,  so that we can still have high hopes for a better tommorow with bitcoins.
