Do you know the reason why Russia banned bitcoin?

That's the question came up into my mind actually, as far as I know Russia is one of the country  that I can say their promoting the advantage of bitcoin. Because adopt the system as well in their country and also they have big Bitcoin community over there.

i think just do some back reads on this thread and you can see the link of the reason why Russia banned bitcoin. you can also see there the list of the other countries which do not accept bitcoin. just search on this thread bro.

Maybe it has something to do with the weak ruble.
The russian government does not want to give their people another possibility to get rid of their own fiat.

Are there countries that do not accept Bitcoin? I mean no idea regarding it. What do you think will happen to Bitcoin 5years from now? I'm not asking you to be a psychic to see the future. I'm asking about your idea about Bitcoin's future. TIA!

As what happening now in bitcoin, everyday the community still continue growing and more people everday are investing in Bitcoin. So 5years from I think Bitcoin is well know in most of the countries in the entire world. True that now in other country is bitcoin is unknown and never heard, and some they heard it but still refusing and ignored it. But in other countries like Canada, Europe, Australia, China, Russia, and London are much much accepted by Bitcoins.

I know that Russia banned it in their country. I’m not quite sure of any smaller countries. I think as long as you have access to any of the wallet sites you should be able to buy your own bitcoin, even in secrecy!

i think even though Russia banned bitcoin in their country, there are still lots of Russians being involve in bitcoin in secrecy. they cannot monitor them if they will use some VPN to hide the original IP addresses they are using.

I have seen bitcoin becoming more and more popular in my country over time.More exchange rising and more and more users getting to involve in the bitcoin. It is still not accepted offline in my country but in 5 years i think we will see that to in my country.

A problem for a lot of countries. We just have to wait for the big companies adaption and I know it will happen. I might not have the facts but just look at us. Look at steam, look at purse io they are all doing it even with the kmown risk in bitcoin.

Once the big companies adopt bitcoin then others will follow through because if big companies are using them then it means there is a potential and profit in bitcoin so other small companies will follow them and the competitors also of other big companies will also use it because they don't want to be left behind and the fear of missing out. When this happens,it would be the start of bitcoin being popular and known especially to people that are not that techie and they would want to be part of the bitcoin world.

on my own opinion, before the big companies adopt bitcoins, it should be adopted by the government first. i think the companies would not want to be affiliated with bitcoin if there is no approval by the government!

bitcoin is banned in Russia but that does not stop anyone from using it there.
That's the same as rape, pillage and murder in Russia - its banned, but it doesn't stop anyone from doing it.  Fucking Russians are idiots, that is why it is banned there.  Anything that prevents the Russian government from crawling up your ass and ripping your guts out - is illegal there.  You must submit.  Don't worry, Russians are used to getting fucked in the ass.  They've been gettin' that all their lives.
Yup it is possible that it prevents government from crawling up your taxes. Yes it is illegal but when you search all hyip most of them the #1 traffic they get is from Russia. So even tho it is illegal it is evident that many people are still using it and they are getting away with it.

But the adoption by the big companies is not giving a large impact in my expectation because if everyone is having the payment method of their self is can make them feeling comfortable. is just about the adoption from the big companies or not. it's about their selves.

I unhappy in my country, because not more than 0,001% know about cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, maybe my goverment must legal this bitcoin for more popular

May we know in which country do you live? As far as I know, as long as the government don't ban bitcoin, then it is not illegal, and even if bitcoin was  not legalized by the government on where you live it is still good, but I doubt it that you are only few in that country that use bitcoin, most of us don't really share exact information,.. Who knows, there are netizens here that live in where you are...  Smiley

After I read the history of the post he came from the same country as me. I doubt the percentage he gave, because I think bitcoin users in Indonesia was quite a lot. As I read the article, the only legal currency in Indonesia is RUPIAH. So I do not expect the government will legalize bitcoin. But on the other hand the government also does not prohibit bitcoin, because there are no regulations that explain it. And here using bitcoin is the responsibility of each. Because I think as long as we use bitcoin for things that are not prohibited by the country's legitimate. thank you

Oh, I see, you are in the same country,  So probably that is just his speculation about bitcoin... But anyway, when I was still gambling, I saw some Indonesian on that gambling site...

Actually our countries almost have the same stand, in where I live too, bitcoin is not illegal and not yet legal, though I've read and there are rumors that the government is planning to monitor it after the Bangladesh bank heist..  Smiley

They will monitor bitcoin? Into what? Using it or making it illegal in your country? I have read the Bangladesh heist which is a really large money that have been hacked in Bangladesh bank. But those money are still detected and knew where it gone too.
It is not really surprising that the government would try to monitor bitcoin movement in their country since bitcoin is kind of a way for tax evasion and we all know that the government wouldn't want that. I guess almost every Government has already started to think about anything similar to 'bit-license' for their country, who knows.

And if this is successful then we will get everyone using bitcoin and finally bitcoin experienced tremendous growth

same here! i can see lots of indonesian people who are using bitcoins and they are also promoting their referral links about HYIP or mining site they have invested. the regulations about bitcoin in your country is the here in the Philippines. Bitcoin here is not legal nor illegal, invest at your own risk! Cheesy

I think a lot of people Promote HYIP, CLOUDMINING with their referrals, and in my opinion not just Indonesian. I think almost all people from around the world is do that. I personally, often advise to people do not invest their money in Ponzi sites like that, because I feel too sad if the They exposed the scam.

So do you think the Philippines is not doing that? thanks

im not saying that Philippines is not doing the same thing!! i think i said that because someone on this thread said that there are only few indonesians who knows about bitcoin. could you please read first before you react to something. you're getting the wrong idea there brother!!! what i'm referring on that post is that i can see lots og indonesians who already knew about bitcoin!

Well bitcoin isn't totally accepted in any country (Accepted in every store), but I'm pretty sure at least one person in every country will accept Bitcoin, at least reluctantly.

I just read that, here is the link http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-exchanges-regulations-philippines/ , but I think it is true, though we know that our government don't care about bitcoin, but clearly it mentioned bitcoin there, maybe that statement has a connection to this statement by the Central bank of the Philippines  - > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country#Philippines ...  Smiley

In my country most of the time whenever I see bitcoin in news or read it on the papers its mostly the bad side of bitcoin. They never make news of people donating bitcoin to people who needs it, they never talk about the charities that bitcoin community has.
I believe they think if they make an evil out of this they can sell more papers, to be honest some like wall street journal started that way as well but now they are acting like they know everything and see the benefits but still dislike it.

Well, then just hope for the good things. I mean they can not just always talk about the bad side of bitcoin forever like this as there are more and more people know about the true benefit of it and start using it, bitcoin will be more powerful I believe those news paper will not exist anymore.
