for security, i'm going to start locking down withdrawal addresses. to start with, all withdrawals from now on will just go to the address on your account. no more "please withdraw to 1xxxyyy..." in my PMs.

How exactly do we set a withdrawal address?

those 2 or 3 early accounts that don't have one yet will just have to PM me with one.

thanks.

I didn't know you were doing that x.x. Luckily, nobody seems to have hacked into my account and stolen anything Cheesy.

just woke up from a marathon 10.5 hour sleep this weekend which apparently my body really needed. crashed out early last night like a little kid.

Damn, that's like sleep enough to last 3 days.

yes and knowing my lifestyle, it'll probably have to Cheesy

not that it matters now (coz it's over) but it seems the promo caused a little confusion... the 0.1% had nothing to do with the weekly interest. it was simply [0.1% of the deposit amount] added to your balance.

yep the little promo is over and did the trick nicely, thanks everyone.

it was just something i thought up on the spur of the moment and don't have a magic php script adding the bonus for me... so don't worry if yours is missing, it'll get added soon.

If I already have an account, would I have the extra .1% automatically credited to any deposits sent to my deposit address before the deadline (provided you haven't filled your 1000 BTC quota)?

He filled it.

Whoops. Thanks

Correct.
He needed 1000BTC
Offered .1% bonus for a total of 1BTC.

Since he is only making .1% (7% - 6.9% = .1%), he was offering to give up his profit to immediately fill a withdraw request.

He won't offer more, because he would go negative.  So, he would simply make a withdraw from BST.  The idea is that he wants to keep his account stable with BST in fear of getting a lower interest.  (Me guessing).

I know for fact he has enough now.

i'm offering an extra 0.1% on any deposits from now until Sunday 03:00 UTC.

offer limited to 1 btc (for the next 1000 btc worth of deposits)

So, lets say I deposit 5BTC now. 1BTC would receive the 7% rate while the other 4 gets the 6.9%?

That's how it would work?

I could be wrong, but I think he meant that you must deposit AT LEAST 1 BTC.

I think he meant the offer limited to next 1000 btc worth of deposits, 1000 btc * 0.1% = 1 btc

However, you are absolutely correct about using a fixed withdrawal address and only allow changing of the withdrawal address by signing the statement with the previous withdrawal address.
I'm glad we agree on it.

@payb.tc, could you please commit to such a security procedure?
I will be sleeping much better after you do... Tongue

Away on an extended break

Thanks guys for the quotes.  Grin I was just wondering -if- our forums get compromised again then someone could easily send in a withdrawal request for me.
Then he may as well replace the PGP key in your signature.

I think a better protection is to fix your withdrawal address and never allow to change it while requesting a withdrawal.
Eventually you can also use the withdrawal address to sign the withdrawal request.
Well, he'll have to hijack bitcoin-otc too as my key is listed there. However, you are absolutely correct about using a fixed withdrawal address and only allow changing of the withdrawal address by signing the statement with the previous withdrawal address.

I think a better protection is to fix your withdrawal address and never allow to use a different one while requesting a withdrawal.
Eventually payb.tc could have also required you to sign the withdrawal request with the withdrawal address - and such level of security would be sufficient for me.

By the way, for safety reasons, only process my withdraw application IF I request it using my Bitcoin-OTC GPG key(in my signature) to prevent unauthorised withdrawals.
Somebody please quote my post to preserve my statement.  Wink

What is BST?
I coundn't fid any information about this service.

Bitcoin Savings & Trust

that's where i deposit the coins to earn interest, but you will need much more than 10 BTC to get an account there directly.
