In order not to ask questions of this type, you should familiarize yourself with the forum section for beginners. Just keep it simple and keep posting quality responses, thats all you need. As for the merit system, even though it might seem flawed, i feel its completely served its purpose of sensible debates, discussions, shared information and support.

As you are newbie now. Once your activity reaches to 30 then your rank will change to Junior member after that you need minimum 10 merits in order to get member rank with 60 activity and for further promotion in rank you need more merits. To get merit you need to make some constructive post.

You are hard stuck junior member rank if you didn't contribute anything in the forum and just talking nonsense (probably your red trust says that)It's nothing. I wrote 30 posts in 2 days. on day 3 I was given the rank of J. member. My friend wrote 60 posts in a week, he was given a membera in 2 weeks.
Just look at your merit, it's "0" and yeah it's nothing. Since merit is a subjective thing, you can't blame the people if you do post a garbage one.If you know the market, help people in the community, you earn merits. Not easily but not impossible. It's just that you have to contribute to the community genuinely. If you just do it for merits you can also go beg for merits but you won't get many as it's not really looks good.
If you want to upgrade to a junior rank then you need thirty activity and activity is given to you according to your posts so the more you post the higher your activity and once you get to thirty you will be upgraded to junior rank. After that, your ranking up will depend on the merit which you earn for making useful posts
from newbie you must make post 30 in 28 day, 14 activity/2 week. so you need 6 week to Jr. member like me iam newbie and just learn to up rank my account.
You can get to junior but pretty much impossible after that with the merit system.
in order to get merit, many are misusing the system so they are the one gets banned by the moderator, it is better to contribute to the forum quality content on most of topics then we deserve merits

Can you tell me about merit how can get??
All you need is to be active on the forum and leave thoughtful comments and starting new interesting topics.
That is the common problem of all newbie, it's really hard to upgrade your rank, you have to do some quality post however you have to need some patience, you have to prove to your self that you really worth it to rank up.
There is nothing you can other than to wait until the system upgrades you. bitcointalk is a forum where a lay down rules and the rules is always followed, so you have to be patient and continue learning as much as you can.

The reaction is both positive and negative, because always in the fall you can find its advantages. I never blame myself for losing, as the best will come back.
Within thirty days with continuous Post which when your activities counted to be thirty you'll be junior member and afterwards you have to be posting post with thought that can attract merits because other ranks above junior member require certain number of merit but the merit system now is restricted, people are not even ready to give merits out and that's why I will make a call for a review of the merit and ranking system of this forum
Now merit system is hard rules, you have to post very constructively and it should be help for others dont do copy past, and follow the rules .
just be active always in updates in bounty and this furom always check what is new and always post in topic of your posting !! that the way you can get ranked in this furom!!
To upgrate di junior member you don't need merit, but then after that it's very hard. Very few people give merit also to good posts..... I hope something will change soon because otherwise there will be a lot of junior member forever....
