A Bitcointalk forum mobile application should be created, what do you think?
I think that there is just no need to create Bitcointalk app cause it's good to having such brilliant website. And I like it's design and it's simple and also elegant.
And still there is no proper owner and other things in this forum and I will suggest that we should only focus on you goals like learning etc.

I really like this idea, since especially younger users are more on their phone than on a computer.
If this app however wants to be an success, they should look at apps like reddit or twitter and not just make a stupid website in an app style application!
If you are an iOS/iPhone user you can use the trick from @shahzadafzal how can the bitcointalk application work on mobile but I'm not sure this will be more comfortable, maybe you can try it that way.

[1] Bitcointalk as a Mobile App - Trick for iOS/iPhone

Reddit and Twitter have owners so it's clear they can focus more on applications, while this forum was only created by Satoshi and then handed over to theymos and also Cyrus.
I'm not sure they can develop this thing for an app.

I just noticed and found out that it is possible to do something like that, but for IOS user devise only.
But he seems okay for my point of view.

Just to make it faster. On the other hand in my honest opinion, On the other hand most of the user communities
here on the bitcointalk forum are not comfortable with using a mobile phone when they open their account on the
bitcointalk forum and I am one of them.

A Bitcointalk forum mobile application should be created, what do you think?

Maybe at least you know what the community's response here in this forum is when you made this a topic. Also, in the years I've been here on the forum, I haven't seen a single person complain about why bitcointalk doesn't have apps that can be downloaded to the phone. I haven't seen anyone complain like that.

Even I disapprove of it because it doesn't make sense either. Also, this forum has existed for many years and so far the results have been good until now.

Why would a bitcointalk app be needed, it would just eat up space on the mobile device's storage. Also, even if you use a cell phone, we can still open an access account on bitcointalk using the chrome browser and other browsers.

So I don't think it should be given any more attention. Because if I'm in the province and I can't bring my desktop and don't have a laptop, I can still open my account on this forum. Although the device is small, of course, that's fine with me.

I suggest improving the user interface and user experience of the current bitcoin talk web application. So people can interact more with the web application.

A Bitcointalk forum mobile application should be created, what do you think?
I personally really disagree because when Bitcointalk is integrated into an application I don't think it will be better in the future, and I personally prefer to use a computer to access bitcointalk, yes, even though I sometimes use a cellphone to access bitcointalk, yes, I think why you think you make an application because of experience the display on the cellphone screen is very uncomfortable and like you said most young people use cellphones more often to communicate and socialize compared to PCs or computers but in my opinion it will also be difficult in the end when we will share formulas, scripts or code in threads which we will create in a certain section.

You do not need to disagree with the idea of creating a bitcointalk app. I know most people will continue using bitcointalk on laptop or personal computer but still, there is nothing bad in having an app too. Sometimes an app can be handy if you are on a travel etc and you do not have access to your computer.

I know people will argue that it is difficult to write a post using a mobile but then if you have ever used a trading view app on a mobile it is even more difficult to operate it on mobile, and still they have an app. So I guess it's time that theymos come up with a bitcointalk app .  Smiley

This is a shortcut!

Doesn't seem like this has been mentioned yet, but there are services out there that can take a functioning website and turn it into a functioning app. Gonative for example, works with Bitcointalk.org. I was able to make a quick demo on a simulator iPhone here: https://gonative.io/share/olewny.

|| Snip ||

This is a shortcut!

You can easily add your favorite website's shortcut on your screen by following this steps on your iPhone: How to Add a Website Shortcut to Your iPhone Home Screen.
This is for Android users: How to Add Website to Home Screen on Android.
As easy as ABC.

Right, I mean as I wrote in my post, it gets you 80% of the way there pretty quickly, in the sense that it's an app-clone of the current website. The remaining 20% is redoing the design to make it perfect for mobile devices.
Shortcut is not 80% of app development annd design is more than 20% of app development. There is a lot more involved into it, including UI designers, UX designers and researchers, android and iOS developers, project managers and so on. That's why usually a company has group of people that work on app or they either order 3rd party companies to do app for them and then they pay for support.

This is using the same thing like those ''tricks'' other members wrote before you, but it doesn't look any different than using bitcointalk forum with regular browser.
One more negative side is that for creating Bitcointalk App with GoNative it needs to be paid serious amount of money, from $790 to $5440, depending on package.
Only benefit I see could be notifications, but for that amount money it's just not worth it.

And yes, it is a bit of a shortcut to use a service like that, and I'm sure tech purists and professional app developers probably hate these services (probably with good reason), but I think it's more akin to using something like Wordpress to build a website. Any competent web developer will tell you that there are millions of better options than wordpress, but for quite a lot of people and smaller projects, it does get the job done. If Bitcointalk were to make an app, they'd probably build one from scratch. If some hobbyist wanted to make their own app-viewer of Bitcointalk and see what they can do with it, Gonative isn't a terrible choice for them.

Services like Gonative get you 80% of the way there. Of course there's still some leftover work to do, like in this simulation, the font size is obviously too small for a mobile device. I'm not 100% sure on the legality of it with Bitcointalk, but it's relatively common for developers to make a better version of a forum they like. Just look at Apollo for Reddit, it's not made by Reddit, but it's made by some developers who want to give a better version of Reddit. I mean if it was allowed by the admins, it would be a very fun project to make an App for Bitcointalk just to overhaul all the design and bring it to 2023 in that regard.

I don't think there is any hint from the mods about the bitcointalk app to be created. Don't think there are any plans for it in the pipeline.
But who knows one days, theymos may give us a surprise and announce about the app.

Note:- Until there is an official app, do not download any unofficial bitcointalk app from anywhere, as it may be a phishing attempt to get your passwords.

I just checked that topic and learnt that is about firefox extension based and not exactly an app for mobile. I guess only theymos decides about mobile app version of this forum then we can get. Otherwise anyone can create unofficial version for "read only" purposes.
I think that extension is pretty good though. You can edit on your own and you just have to switch to Firefox on your Android to use. It's better than running another app which probably gonna do the same thing but requires extra power. Considering the development of the new forum is still going on I'd never count on an official app release anytime soon. If they ever do it at all.

This is just my opinion, why make bitcointalk apps in the play store if we can use bitcointalk for browsing even if we use a mobile phone, it can also be setup in a desktop-style even though the monitor is small and that's all. different.
Have you ever tried to type in landscape mode? It's a pain even if your phone has a large screen. Sure you can browse just fine but you won't be able to post comfortably. But at the end of the day, most members probably use a PC/laptop so it is not really a priority.

I prefer reading the forum on IPad, UI is friendly, the signatures and words appear boldly, and easy to read like on a laptop. Additionally, I spend more time reading the forum on my Ipad compared to my laptop. However, the forum is not user-friendly with phones with small screen resolutions, yet launching a mobile app to make it phone compatible will decrease post quality on the forum from the app users. Writing with a phone can cause multiple mistakes and may not be crosschecked on apps like Grammarly to enable an interesting read. Unless the app is created to be read-only; members can only read as guests, I won't prefer an app for the forum. Things to consider are if it'll be open source or closed source, the forum may now require some payments or donations to maintain the app, especially for core developers. I think the forum is unique, easy to navigate, and less cumbersome this way.
Next week I plan to buy an IPad, it looks practical after I saw several reviews about the IPad, the comfort is increasingly satisfied, especially the IPad can also use the keyboard, this will make it easier for me to open forums on the IPad.

I'm not sure that there is a mobile application for forums that can provide more convenience than a website because what I know is a unique forum is a website and it will be different from other forums, maybe you expect something new but it's not the main feature because it's like what you say requires reliable developers to be paid to operate the applications that are made, but I'm sure a mobile application is not a good idea for me.

Yes they'll be some members that won't use the app at all, which may keep the app on a sideline for phone users only. Some challenges will emerge; illicit developers may decide to create similar apps just to derail people searching for the forum. Though, it'll help the spread of bitcoin as it'll pop up when people search bitcoin on app stores yet the downside is quite bigger compared to the benefits. I'd urge you to get the Ipad as you said, you'd enjoy the forum, and users with lesser screen resolution phones can read the forum then communicate while on laptop. Truly it feels difficult to respond through phones, which may require a mobile app for the forum, but, then, the app may not be as responsive as the forum; it could lag, due to the numerous information on the forum.

A Bitcointalk forum mobile application should be created, what do you think?
If this app is put on the app store or playstore, we could be onboarding more members onto the forum which could indirectly benefit the crypto ecosystem but like any other big forum name out there... It's best to keep it as is.

Btw a web based app wouldn't be a bad idea as this wouldn't be any different from what we have here but having to build a app that needs a database and the alike would be big no as this would make it a target for possible data breaches.

This is just my opinion, why make bitcointalk apps in the play store if we can use bitcointalk for browsing even if we use a mobile phone, it can also be setup in a desktop-style even though the monitor is small and that's all. different.

So it seems like it will just be old for me, even if there are bitcointalk apps, I won't use them. Then it's still better for me to use Bitcointalk using a laptop or desktop. Although, mobile is also good for those who don't have desktops and laptops via browsing but not apps.

Well, in short it is better to have bitcointalk mobile app, rather not having any app at all.

I understand that easiest and best way is to use it on your computer/ PC / Laptop, but we are not always in front of our computer. With mobile app, we can also stay in touch with bitcointalk on the mobile. Also, the browser on the mobile can fulfill the same purpose, but a app would be a better option.
