Not really the hero aspect but dealing with people that had a agenda long before meeting you. They have multiple established accounts and the ear of mods. You eventually learn and choose if you care or not to rub the foundation the wrong way.
Hero accounts are being sold as we speak if you feel like buying a voice.

Verified awesomeness ✔
I've dealt with enough Newbies and Jr. Member who wanted to buy a Silver Wallet. Some of those I would trust with a quite some money. It all depends on how you profile yourself and how you act and write.

I like this forum
To discuss on many things and to earn money while making comments( signature campains)  are good.
The more you increase your rank the more you earn.
A hero member ofcourse should earn more than a jr member.

Hey, Dabs, when did you become staff?
When the Philippines local section was added.

Hey Gleb, I knew you'd eventually notice, you always have a sharp eye for details. Smiley

Yeah. He answered that for me. Not too much time to do this, since I'm studying for some computer certifications (I got A+ already., working on MCSA now.)

Going for Global... one day.

Mostly, nuke the newbies who spam and post nonsense.

I don't think this forum is for hero members only, I mean everyone here started as a newbie.
It is just that their are Honest and dishonest people, I remember when I was a Newbie I don't want to scam people
Just because I knew I was going to be on this forum for a long time, and there is no point you can better build a good trust with people!

But you also have people who are here just to scam other people, and they are happen to be newbies. or maybe a bit higher rank.
Those people shouldn't give the other lower ranks a bad name tho, just because they are low rank that doesn't mean they are scammers or spammers.

I agree people with a higher rank account mostly post really good stuff which I find interesting to read.
Where I see some lower ranks just spam a short post, just to earn some money or boost there forum rank so they can join a signature campaign..

Hmmmmmmm ... There was another forum I was a member of, my account being the equivalent of Hero or Legendary there, and people would listen to what I said, maybe disagree, but it was all polite and constructive. (That forum was about guns, and while I'm no expert, I knew a thing or two about them, being that I am in the military.)

There is another forum I'm a member in, and I got a new badge called "10 year old forum member" or something like that. Because, I joined more than 10 years ago, and the forum is still around.

And, yet another forum, about legal stuff and immigration issues, and sometimes a little bitcoin (because of all the money talk.) .... I have a few dozen "followers" there.

I was a mod in an old EverQuest forum for Necromancers; because I had rarely lost a duel.

And maybe a few more forums I don't remember anymore. All time high score in Text Twist or something like that.

Stuff like these takes time.

Now, this bitcoin forum ... well ... it took awhile, but you too can be a Hero. One day.

I bet "Phin" would be no. 1 in stats if you didn't juggle with another account or two Wink

In response to that other guy earlier too..
I don't crap on Newbie opinions only when they come in to the Altcoin section
blasting their Professional Trade choices down peoples throats
(99% of the time it's a well known guy hiding pushing some new coin)

People are weary about new accounts here because they are abused.
I seen one coin cloner way back admit to creating over 60 accounts here
to advertise his coins HE SAID HIMSELF !
So it's not an exaggeration or paranoia or..
Then we have guys here knowing what they are doing is wrong
while at the same time trying to start a business out of the forum here.
Such as..
I caught a guy in off-topic asking for help with his locked Paypal account
and i did actually try to help him and even told him PM me and i will do more..
He rather quick said NO i don't want your help and said he would just make a new Paypal account..
And he said for some weird reason he would get his money back in 6 months anyway which is NOT true.
He also said he had been caught by Paypal a few times before already (losing his funds)
So with his Noob account here and his forum avatar message "Buying BTC with Paypal"
he got angry because i negged him when i told him what he is doing is against the Paypal TOS.
As Paypal have clearly told him 3 times already.
So i told him if your going to CONTINUE to do that putting your *victims* at risk i will neg you.
He didn't like that one bloody bit LOL
He demanded i remove the quote of him where he admitted his guilt that i had quoted
then he changed the topic title and erased all his comments and locked the topic..
THEN he hatched the idea to wait until i was not seeing the topic probably watching when i was online
and he unlocked the topic and tried hard to make it seem like i was trolling on him for no reason.
THEN he went and tried to have staff come after me by creating a topic on ME in the "Rep" section
again pulling this whole i was out to Troll on him crap.
Did he leave ? Of course not.. he is dead set on making Bitcointalk his little "Business"

..On a site that has no rules against scamming.

ONE example of a never ending onslaught of them around here.
So NO ..noob accounts do not deserve the benefit of the doubt.
FUD first & ask questions later.  Cool

EDIT:
@OP, Besides if you want a Hero account.. go BUY one LOL

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
Not too bad, bud. I edit my post if your interested.
I actually didn't see that one aswell.
Good thing trust is hidden on some boards.
The fun part is, that ratings could be removed in the matter of some minutes.
They'd only have to delete their ponzi support posts and PM whywefight/cryptodevil about it.
Easy as that.

Oh really ?

I was told NO ..because i am an asshole LOL
I was told i deserve it..

The OP is a caught scammer by the looks of it.
And to make matters worse he doesn't grasp English very well.
Best i can tell he is trying to start a business with this forum.

He's gunning to own his first pair of shoes in India or something i bet LOL

@OP
Gleb Gamow has more than one account too..
he is also a shrewd man ..like a dragon around here that will eat you whole.
If you have been around a while you would now that and also know to stay off his toes.
Which is why.. YES forum rank does matter.
For the same exact reasons it matters anywhere else on the internet.
In that respect it's not any different here than any other forum.

3rd highest? Damn it, I'm slippin'.

Yes, OP, this is Gleb, with real name Bruno Kucinskas. Did I mention that your user account is fucked and that you don't even have enough brains to start a new user account from scratch? If not, I'm doin' it now.

Yeah...

This is what I said - if someone want to make some money from BTC, it has been moderated and deleted its posts...

Congratulations Moderators.

Posting on Bitcointalk is not making money from Bitcoin, it's making money from posting on Bitcointalk. Smiley

I don't think that this forum is for hero members only. Of course, that rank has some advantages but other ranks have their respectful status too. Just because some people here are rude or impolite to others that doesn't mean that eveyrbody is like that and that here is no place for everyone who wants to contribute. You just have to follow the rules. I was newbie once too.

Admittedly it is harder to trust individuals with relatively low participation rate, as they have less to lose for their potential disappearance.  Hero members and above have a lot more time to lose by poor behavior since it takes a long time to build that up, so they're less likely to do risk it.  They'll still do it, just less incentive to do so.  Totally new members are the most distrusted since the time it takes to make a new account is negligible.  Only way to overcome these prejudices is to stick around; before that, you can get by easily with a proper attitude and presentation, e.g. empathy towards others like kindness and manners, proper usage of the accepted language (English in most cases), making good on promises.  The prejudice will still be there but people will be willing to overlook it.
