Question: I have a tiny amount of merit, but I haven't any to give out (tried to merit a helpful post earlier and failed). How does this work? How to qualify to dish out merit?

The easiest way is to push them on to a Google Sheet I think:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mD6cdsQNJ8dauTL-XLi8I0oDG5WBl0z0NeKzXTByNyw/edit?usp=sharing

-   The first tab delimits the selection to users registered between 9.10.17 - 3.12.17 (3.411 profiles)
-   The second is for all merited users, disregarding creation date filter (31.209)

I'm on my phone and I can't use the dashboard unfortunately. Is it possible to list the users registered between 9.10.17 - 3.12.17 who have received merit?

Edited : Thanks for the quick response Smiley Amazing work man, as usual. Have a great weekend!

Hi DdmrDdmr.
No update this week ? I use your tool to track and distribute some additional merits in the Fr section. Usually you are on time Friday or Saturday, I am worried (but you have the right to take a holiday:)).
Hi @ Halab. I gave it a skip this weekend, since I was away from my laptop (which is quite a blessing sometimes, especially if the weather is sunny and the landscape captivating).

I have downloaded the merit.txt file and integrated it into my DB, but since I like to scrape the profile data just after the release of that file (to be as consistent as possible between profile’s merit counter and the sum of the TXs + derivation of initial rank), I thought that I’d skip it this week and have it all updated next weekend properly.

I’m pretty much colour blind; used to paint cows green and pastures brown as a kid. As a teenager I used to have issues with my friends pointing to chicks by referencing the colour of their dress. I can probably see pink there though. Lavender is out of my chromatic range …

And this is not a joke because I have the same disorder and I can never name the colors correctly although I see them.

But here I see clearly myself in yellow and close to the center, which is good looking at the usernames  Cheesy.

Edit 02/10/2019:
I’ve created a new Tab called Merit Senders /Receivers (fourth from the left) which lets us see most of the information shown in sMerit participants – a worrying descending trend (!/?), but from a monthly perspective:

The novel elements are nFromUsers (Senders) which represents the total number of distinct users that sent sMerit on a given month, and nToUsers (Receivers) which is the total number of distinct recipients of sMerit in a given month.

-   If we apply no filters, we get the general forum-wide overview.
-   We can filter by UserFromName (or Id), to see the amount of distinct people we merit per month.
-   Likewise, filtering by UserToName (or Id) will display the number of distinct people that have merited that profile.
-   Similarly, applying the Section/Subsection filter allows us to see the number of meriters and merited by that concept (i.e. local board).

Looking over the charts, the number of senders is pretty low (1.024 during September 2019 vs 1.890 during August 2018 – September 2018 was when a bunch of new merit sources were added).

@1miau, @fillippone:

I’ll give it a go this week when I get a chance (haven’t got my laptop here now) to try to enhance it a bit (for example, I’d like to be able to select the time scale for the bars– i.e. Month (default), week, Quarter).

Also, on @fillippone’s local board I’ve seen the published charts and, for some weird reason, the numbers do not show on top of the bars except for Germany. I thought I checked that before publishing, but it may have slipped.

The idea of placing more than one chart side by side might be hard to do. I’ll take a look into it, but for quick comparisons we can use the "Received Merit Subsection” Tab: The format is that of one line per selected subsection, displaying the accumulated received merits overtime. Regardless, I’ll see if it is feasible to implement.

Edit: @1miau, @fillippone:
Added a filter called "Date Level Selector" to the "Received Merit Subsection II" tab that allows us to see the Received Merits now by:
- Year
- Quarter
- Month (default)
- Week
- Day
- Day of Week
- Hour

Rather than a line, I prefer vertical bars in this case. If added an additional tab near the end called "Received Merit Subsection 2” where you can filter by one or more subsections. Selecting a single subsection is optimal, but some combinations will makes sense whilst looking fine on the chart (selecting all subsections looks dreadful).

The result is something like this (https://public.tableau.com/shared/WD42KC77P?:display_count=yes&:origin=viz_share_link):

Well,
I immediately took advantage of your new tool to a post on the italian section about the drought on our board.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.52471136
It would be nice to add the possibility, while selecting more than one board, to put the histograms on side by side, instead of stacking them (like the 4 graphs i put in the post combined in one.
Out of sMerits, I owe you some.
