I just came across this post today and would like to join in next time. All I have to do is create an account on sportbets and tell you here in the thread that i want to participate, right?  Smiley
Yes that will take care of it you if I'm not mistaken you don't even really have to say you are going to participate as I believe the password will just be common knowledge for the next tournament. This way late reg players can join freely without trying to get the password. If you want you can let people know your username for fun, so we know who we are playing.

Hey guys,

sorry I have been a little quiet lately due to illness and some other stuff going on.

1) As hard as it is, I dont think we will be able to fill two tournaments so please lets all do our best to find a time slot that is "okay" for most of us. In order to achieve this we shouldnt rush things and give us all a longer "lead time" - not sure if lead time makes sense but I hope you know what I mean. Wink That being said, I wouldnt suggest we play this weekend, next week or the week after would be better BUT then we would really have to work hard guys, feedback feedback feedback. Last time was our first try and of course we also had those technical issues - still not even closely all people showed up who said they were interested.

I say lets play in 2-3 weeks on a Sunday and use a time slot somewhere around what figmentofmyass (man I find it hard to spell that username Cheesy) is suggesting.

Well, it looks like we need two separate tournaments for two different time zones. Smiley I can't imagine how can we solve it another way.

yes that's right I played poker on another site and they started holding 2 weekly tournaments, so it would be fair for a different time zone quite far

Speaking of time, is it only me who thinks that sometimes some players are, randomly, given 90 seconds of additional time, and sometimes even additional 20 seconds on top of that? It's really annoying to wait that much only to see that player is actually inactive.

yes I also feel it, there are even more than 2 minutes.
and I think there is a connection disconnected because the game server is unstable.
whereas those who are truly inactive usually only have less time around 60 seconds Roll Eyes

And one more observation (again, if it's only me, just ignore it). With this particular poker software(I play it on another site, and I have this same problem there as well) a warning signal never sounds in the right time. When time is running out for some other player, I can hear the sound, but when it's me who has 5 seconds left to react, nothing happens.

I guess it's just you, I've never experienced the same thing as you Grin

I stand with Ukraine.
Any time from 4pm GMT to 8pm GMT is good for me. Let's hear from others.

I'm in if it starts ~6-8pm GMT.

How long did the last one run? Probably just an hour or two?

that bad for asian dude, its around 1-3 AM here  Angry

depends on the player and their gameplay, if it above 100 player the game could might 3 hours or more Roll Eyes

I have a suggestion for the next tournament. I think, it's better to keep all those who haven't shown up at one table, so that no one could steal their blinds(if it's technically possible, of course). I know it's impossible(and maybe even a bit unfair) to keep going like this infinitely, but I think we can give 30-40 minutes to those who are late without ripping them off.

(Just a thought. Sorry if this is against some major rules.)
It would be technically impossible , to do smt like this software wise ( move every inactive person to 1 table ) .

No, no, of course, I didn't mean that. What I meant was keeping only those players who didn't show up at one table, and if someone was active at least for 5 seconds, he/she automatically placed at a table with active players for the rest of the tournament.

One option would be to automatically fold when BB is at one of the inactive players , though I suppose this is not practical aswell , consider you're waiting for many hands for a good card , you finally hit AA and you have to forfeit your hand because the BB is an inactive person.

You yourself have shown well enough that this is not an option.

The best option in this situation would be simply to have open a late registration - Basically have 30-45 minutes of late registrations open , and in case someone is late they still have a chance to register and play.

Yes, 45 minutes of late registration would solve the problem, and it's good that @efialtis confirmed above that it is possible to implement.

best thing to do it I guess is to share the password publicly here and have 3-5 levels of late registering , this way the community here can sign up right after the start without worrying about being available at the exact time

+1. anyone who doesn't want to get blinded out should just register late. i don't mind registering early myself (and maybe blinding out) because i wanna get more people in the game.

@efialtis, is there any way to add money to the prize pool?

Hey, efialtis, I can join the next one now, it was some error that it was displayed on my account , don't know why but now its okay I can see the tournament so I will join the next one for sure and I'm sorry that I couldn't join previous one but the page on Poker ( Bitcoin Only ) was not available for me.

same thing happened to me. for anyone who can't see the poker section: you need to switch your primary currency to BTC. otherwise it will remain hidden.

in fact, i was barred once from opening the poker room from a canadian IP address. the issue was resolved by logging in from a mexican IP address. so there's some more food for thought!

If I am at home next time around I'll see about doing a screen capture and then maybe put together a little video just editing out dead time in between. Might be interesting to watch, I'll be able to capture everything from whatever table I'm at, and if people want to discuss their plays afterwards it would be pretty cool I think.

sounds great. as you know, i love me some post-game hand review. Smiley

I am sure there will be a way to add something to the prize pool. Wink Thanks for all the input guys, appreciated!

I didn't know about this! Steamtyme and his thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/forum-member-only-poker-tournament-tomorrow-5220705 led me to here.
Weird I thought I deleted that when they moved it out of meta lol. I was trying to reach other forum members who don't really pop into the gambling section but might enjoy a game.

I visit gambling section often, I don't know how I didn't spot this topic about poker, but I saw your topic.
Anyway I am here now, and I am looking forward for the next game! I didn't use sportsbet for a long time, my account is suspended due inactivity. I sent them mail, I hope they will reactivate my account, if not I will log with telegram or twitter.

this happens everywhere mate , when people sign up and don't show up the game will just resume and active players will just steal their blinds
even in big tourneys online where the buy in is over 100$ you will still see some inactve players at least for few minutes

sorry mate , at that point I had to start shoving any two cause I was running out of battery so lucky for me it was a flip  Cheesy
Even without the laptop pressure your stack was worthy of it, I was having a hard time near the end waiting for the final dead money to blind out. I really shouldn't have even got into that one hand where I called down until the jam on the river. Pocket 10's were almost my undoing lol

It was fun, and I'll definitely be in for the next one schedule permitting. Hopefully I'll be at home as I'd prefer not to play on mobile next time. To annoying to try and make custom betsizing.

Definitely do a round 2! We'll always have to find a way to learn and my lesson is: guys, play a few of the freerolls first. It's just a small prize but it'll familiarise you with the setup and tell you if you've got any technical issues. Let's do another poll vote for the timing of next time.
That's great advice I played a few just to get the feel for it on my phone.

Someone teach me poker please :-D
I regret why I was not into these types of card games ever.

Me too, I haven't tried poker games and maybe I will try to study about how this game works. I think I'm outdated when it comes to card games unlike many gamblers who are familiar with this one.i am merely focus on sports betting and not on cards.

I wasn't good at playing poker before mate but since my friends are gaining good profit through their winnings on online betting sites, I tried learning things online. Youtube videos have helped me a lot to learn strategies on it. Poker is fun but you have to learn the basics first.

exactly. it's a nice thought, but there's no fair way to keep them from blinding out. everybody should just play as they normally would.

Maybe everyone should put their preferred time  , and we can balance and chose the best time to start for everybody.

4pm GMT (or later) please! Smiley
