If only people would stop competing to pay the maximum fee, fees wouldn't be so high!
While I agree with the points made in that post, I dislike the quote when presented without additional context. High fees due to competition are a natural result of the fixed supply of block space and fluctuating demand.

Every lost Bitcoin reduces the number of Bitcoins in circulation. The scarcer it gets, the higher the value per Bitcoin. So in a way every Bitcoin owner benefits from this.
Look how cute I was back in the days Cheesy
Satoshi's post is better (of course):
Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more.  Think of it as a donation to everyone.

Here are some more useful quotes for your site. It took me sometime to find those quotes but I believe they are useful ones and could be helpful for the site.

Bitcoin technology is so appealing and addicting I can't possibly imagine "loosing faith". In fact, it's not about "faith", it's about understanding the underlying technology and intrinsic advantages.

Bitcoin is the ninja currency.

If you want to invest $10 in bitcoin, you can purchase a fraction of a bitcoin. If you want to invest $10 in gold, you would need to find someone with dust to sell such a minute quantity. That's much harder to do than buying bitcoin.

ONCE BTC takes on some of this value, its market cap will increase from currently 7 billion to.... whatever amount... IN order to reach $5000 per BTC, the BTC market cap only need to rise to about 90Billion... which is NOT a very high target if it takes on some of these values.

We can all  agree that so far best advice was to buy and invest in Bitcoin,
especially in its early stages from 2007 onwards...

Dear God that is a recipe for losing money--be very careful investing in shitcoins.  They are so volatile that you're going to need a barf bag for the price swings.

Stop using that word 'pump', please.  These are market fluctuations,  and what we're seeing isn't the result of a concerted effort by Chinese gamblers, buyers, sellers, or anyone else.  The market just ends up doing what it always does,  which is moving up and down.

Every lost Bitcoin reduces the number of Bitcoins in circulation. The scarcer it gets, the higher the value per Bitcoin. So in a way every Bitcoin owner benefits from this.

If only people would stop competing to pay the maximum fee, fees wouldn't be so high!

Bitcointalk rocks. Therefore, I present...

Funny, educative, historical and poetic quotes from the Bitcointalk family. Currently, I have saved 91 quotes, from 42 users. I'll update it as I find more interesting posts. You can open the link to check if I've selected posts of yours, but you'll have to refresh and read new quotes manually to find them!

If you've found a good post, submit it in here or via PM, and I'll probably add it to my database.
I enjoyed reloading through interesting quotes you have added to your database, moreso, I love the part you included the names of the authors and a hyperlink which can take readers to the original post where the quote was generated. As it was fun going through the random quotes, it was intriguing to find quotes from the founder, Satoshi and it served as a moment of nostalgia for members who've been  here in the early years and a historical data bank for us.

As other people complained about not being able to view the very simple web page, it motivated me to take some times out of my day to design graphics for the qoutes and will be glad if you can feature my graphics designs on the page for the benefit of those who love art and are willing to save the graphics to their galleries or share to the public.

I am likewise a lover of art and it was such feeling and excitement that encouraged me to design 10 graphics  designs for 12 out of the many quotes on the web page. I will be more than willing to design a similar or unique graphics work for each of the quotes as they load in.

Each graphics design consists of the following contents:
- Quote
- Author's name
- Date

Satoshi quotes were designed in black and white out of respect and honour while other designs where represented in color.

Check the graphics works below and let me know what you feel. Big Thanks!  Smiley

Is there a way to do the next and back manually instead of just refreshing it? Some post needs time to read and digest while there’s no way to read it back after you refresh it. I’m processing some thoughts while browsing randomly.

Also some quote will be more encouraging like quote related to price if the date post was made is indicated.

Click on the "random quotes" not the "auto refresh" button.

Is there a way to set it to "auto skip" for a specific X time, and it changes every X time?
I just added an "Autorefresh" link. Check it out. It updates every 10 seconds.

Nice one! I was just going through the quotes and felt tired at some point, and there are only around 40 of them

Nice quotes. One appears at a time, unless you manually refresh to get another. How about you add a reload button just below the quote, at the center to avoid using the browser reload repeatedly.
Done. Just click on "Random Quote".

Nice one! I was just going through the quotes and felt tired at some point, and there are only around 40 of them, and there may be more in the future. Is there a way to set it to "auto skip" for a specific X time, and it changes every X time? Could be an option on the website or set from the backend - this way, I could just open a tag on one of my desktops and read while doing other things. This way it saves me all the time skipping through 100s of quotes and saves me more reading time instead.

Brilliant idea BlackHatCoiner

I will soon update the post with a good quote I saw somewhere

Quote
"KYC is the only weapon that the current financial system has, in order to control Bitcoin. There is absolutely no other way to control it.”

− apogio
Having gone through some series of quotes, I really find this a lot helpful and a reminder, especially during this period where the government are beginning to get involved into Bitcoin and how much they would love to seize every opportunity to put stuffs under their control. Bitcoin was created a fight against control from government and here we have known the only means as to which they would like to over thrown it's decentralization which is by Initiating KYC. Knowing this will encourage what we can or have to do in other to avoid victimizing Bitcoin into centralization.

Thanks my good friend for quoting me

I have read some of the quote on your site - but it is true that the site need some improvement as some users before me suggested so that viewer can easily find which quote they want to read. I read each one by clicking on random quote - while I would be redirected to bitcointalk.org when clicking on the author's name.

But I like your work and appreciate it.

I can imagine something like this might look good:

Random Quote - Just Title

Author: theymos - Author and link to post.

Quote
“Satoshi's lesson is that you *don't* need to be the next Einstein in order to change the world. Nor do you need to have much money, or influence with the world's "movers & shakers". You just need to put in the effort. Satoshi, probably just an ordinary hobbyist like anyone here, saw that something was lacking in the Universe, and he fought tooth-and-nail for 2+ years until this imperfection was corrected. *This* is what makes Satoshi and his work my greatest inspiration.”

We are seeing some notable quotes coming from famous users here in the forum including Hal, Satoshi, and others.
I guess there might be some who saw these kind of quotes as well.

Quote
“Bitcoin's blockchain is larger due to the fact that Bitcoin's market cap is much larger than Monero's. As a result, Bitcoin's blockchain size is much larger than Monero's.”

− some random shitposter
I didn't include the link of the poster, but by the time I'm posting this, he's online so if you see this, I hope you're ok because you're popular now. Cheesy Anyway, I don't know if it's only me, but I find refreshing the site entertaining.

I tried to open and read through but not working out. I guess you're storing those posts for personal references. Lol. Indeed it feels good as one eligible can be driven for inspirations or guides to zip up towards a dreame. Incredible bitcointalk is full of amazing.

Excellent work @BlackHatCoiner

I would also add statistics on how many quotes are listed. For example, saying something like "4/123 quotes".

If you read a good sentence, and don't forget me, I'm here to share it.  Wink

Nice quotes. I just added them. ribuck's post was already added.
Thanks for adding those quotes and I'll surely try to find some more valuable quotes for your site! I believe the site you created is one of the best to represent the valuable words of Bitcoin enthusiasts who were part of Bitcointalk and it's going to be a pleasure for me to find some valuable quotes and share those here via this thread so you can add those to the site.

I moved the website to a Tor-friendly shared hosting. Currently, it's accessible from Tor, but please confirm. To do that, I changed the nameservers, therefore it might not load to your clearnet browsers right now. It soon will.

Here are some quotes that you might add to your site.

Alternatively, you can use this list to know if someone like Laszlo, with one notable mention in the Bitcoin world is included. If he's there, you're sure it's for the pizza purchase, unlike satoshi for example, with so many memorable quotes, making it impossible to know which is included.

Anyone having issues reaching the sites today? It happened to me 2 times today and each time it took me like 4-5 minutes trying to actually reach the site.
Works fine from my end.

It is there, I saw it the first time I scrolled through the site. The link used was the message where Laszlo confirmed to have bought pizzas for 10,000BTC
So it was just the case of bad rng/me not clicking enough. And yeah, it would be kinda weird not to include something as knopwn and important as bitcpin pizza thing. Anyway, thanks for clearing that out!
