They were educated enough to use the dot org top-level domain, but not smart enough to register those few (.com, .net) which would definitely manipulate the users if the project ever succeeded? Struggling to accept this.

It was all about making the world better again...
If I ever come up with a mind blowing idea to free human race and the plan is to give it away to anyone interested I wouldn't HODL all the other TLDs just for the sake of it. Where is the decentralization if I own them all ?  Cheesy  .Practice what you preach I guess...

If it was meant for business I think they are going to buy all the extensions needed for them to not get attacked by phishing sites. Or maybe the cryptographers are not just into webmaster's and domain business. They are coders and close to being geeks which at the beginning may have little idea about the economic effect of Bitcoin. All they want is to have some board to discuss on which is documented online.

And that's about all you need to know about the other site--and I've been fooled into entering my login information there once or twice when I've forgotten that this site has the .org extension instead of .com.  Luckily I was able to change my password quickly enough such that I didn't get hacked.
Knowing how sophisticated hackers and scammers can be, I take the extra measure of always bookmarking every interesting site I visit or put them on phone's homepage. It's not just enough checking the url for that extra "s" in http. Hackers don't even go that route anymore, they look for slight variations elsewhere. Since I stumbled on this forum in 2017 through CMC while searching for Bitcoin articles, I haven't even typed the url myself elsewhere. I usually copy and paste even if I'm sending it to someone else or using it on another device. Glad you took a reverse action of changing your password. Though I ain't sure it's a phishing site. And like you rightly observed, we haven't heard sobbing stories of phishing hacks from it. So, I think the site is harmless.

Bookmarking works better. Bitcointalk.org I believe was hacked before, I'm probably not around yet but they do recommend resetting passwords every now and then.

Np chance that this website is related to Satoshi. But I have no idea who owns it. There is huge number of phishing Bitcointalk websites, but I think it's not the case. It's not copycat forum, they have different content. But still, I would be careful entering personal data there and don't use same login details as on Bitcointalk.org there at any cost.
I jumped through archive pages on Archive.org and I noticed such thing archived from 2014:
Quote
WARNING – While Bitcointalk.org has a wealth of information about Bitcoin and some very knowledgeable members be aware that the site is run by scammers.  Do not trust any of the ads even if they are endorsed by the site administrators.  The site also encourages the sale of accounts you can never be sure who you are dealing with.
So, this thing don't look good, but seems that owners of website changed since then. Now it's Russian forum which can accessed through Crypto.pro domain. I'm wondering, how much such .com costs. It have big potential, so, probably not cheap.

I don’t think satoshi ever used either of those sites. My understanding is that the forum was hosted on a different domain (I won’t dare post it) and didn’t move to bitcointalk.org until after satoshi stopped posting. I think it’s likely that satoshi was aware of bitcointalk.org but if he ever used it, it wasn’t under the name satoshi as far as I know. Certainly there are others more familiar with this time period than I am.
Whoever own Bitcointalk.com, it does not have any history with bitcoin and satoshi. bitcoin.org and bitcointalk.org are the two original domains those has long history to bring bitcoin today.

We need to be aware that bitcoin.com is also do not have any history for bitcoin. Shitcoin shiller booked the domain and using it to shill his shitcoin. It was easy for his since he was one of the early bird.

I don't mean to be rude but you have no idea what you're talking about.  It's actually pretty amazing how much people assume about this site and how wrong they are.  Granted there aren't many people still around from back then, but the amount of misinformation about the 2009-2011 time period is pretty shocking at times.  I think people don't realize how much of a shoddy operation Bitcoin was back then.  It's not like the leaders were error-proof gods making great decisions along the way.  I'm actually amazed with all the mistakes and mismanagement from the top down, that Bitcoin was able to succeed at all.  It goes to show just how much of a game changer the idea of blockchains and miners was.  The momentum of that invention overcame so much incompetence...

I remember once I was typing bitcointalk.com (unaware about .org), it was long ago and I could not find the forum, it was giving me not reaching the server or something. After few attempts (reloading and loading) I thought the server is down until after few minutes I realized that I am with wrong TLD 🤣
I was lucky that any script was not live or I could caught on phishing attempt.

But damn how I wish the .com site would just disappear (or get bought by Theymos), because it can be confusing for newbies.  Doesn't look like it's going anywhere, though, because it's been up and running for years.
The domain itself will worth good money and I wonder if the current owner will think about selling it.

.com

Dot com domains are to be used by private companies. Satoshi and the early team were educated enough to know that and use the more correct .org domains.
Both the .com and .org TLDs allow anyone to register their domain. The .com TLD was originally intended for "for-profit" businesses and the .org for non-profits.

Of course that now, various... "people"... made the corresponding .com domains, to profit from the popularity of the original or to simply scam.
Almost every possible "bitcoin" domain, and many names/words appended to the word "bitcoin" have been registered for almost every TLD. The same is true for many other popular words. This is not something related to bitcoin, or to bitcointalk.

The bitcointalk.com domain was likely registered by a Russian who wanted to create their own crypto-related discussion forum that potentially competes with the 'real' bitcointalk.org forum

I think this bitcointalk.com is the another bitcoin hangout that was created because of bitcoin also before invent of bitcointalk.org. but i believe strongly that all these was made because of one purposes them, but according to what is happening now bitcoin, the one of bitcointalk.org have already taken ground, what we should be asking is what are the important of creating the community of bitcointalk, so that our newbies will know with open minded while they are here in the community, because some people don't really know while millions of people assemble in this community. We are suppose to break it down to them one after the order.

Bitcoin.com is used by the formal fake-toshi, known to all, Craig Wright.
It's Roger Ver not faketoshi. Faketoshi aka Craig Wright claims that he created bitcoin and he is satoshi. He is some kind of high level troll or mentally disorder attention seeker. Ver is just a shiller and wants his Bitcoin Cash to be bitcoin. He is another level of psychopath

Did you mean  Craig Wright this is from Wikipedia I don't know if the statement here's are true about Craig Wright base in the Wikipedia
Code:
Craig Steven Wright is an Australian computer scientist and businessman. He has publicly claimed to be the main part of the team that created bitcoin, and the identity behind the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. These claims are regarded as false by much of the media and the cryptocurrency community]
I don't know if this is edited or not.
This is exactly what I am talking about Faketoshi. Know the history of bitcoin. These people were just early adopters.

I don't think that any of them have even dreamed how big a success will bitcoin become.
I made a search and it turns out bitcoin dot com was registered a year before the launch, so that probably justifies it. [who is]

If I ever come up with a mind blowing idea to free human race and the plan is to give it away to anyone interested I wouldn't HODL all the other TLDs just for the sake of it. Where is the decentralization if I own them all ?
What does decentralization have to do with owning TLDs? You can't free the human race (hypothetically) if there are obstacles such as Craig Wright in your way. You have to ensure to eliminate this kind of cunning propagandas. Bitcoin dot com makes a splash.

It's the only explanation that would make sens in my head. (It would also explain why so many early coins are most probably lost forever.)

I wish he (and the early ones) wouldn't have underestimated the human wickedness and would have bought the .com domains too, at least to redirect to the correct ones.
But no, those .com domains (bitcoin, bitcointalk) are not related to Satoshi.

But Satoshi made this post he stated there that the old forum will reached.https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/welcome-to-the-new-bitcoin-forum-5 but when I opened an error has been encountered.

You can always try to look at the web archive, for example https://web.archive.org/web/20091219013549/http://bitcointalk.org/
It won't work perfectly, it won't have all the pages you'd like, but it's.. something...

Hello guyz I don't know if this topic has already made, but my curiosity brought me here.
center]
Yes, lots of times already  maybe hundreds of thread asking same question ever since that .com domain was made.

Is that the Bitcoin.com is the First forum made by Satoshi or what?  Or this is another forum made by someone?
You could google this easily and you can get more answers in just a couple of seconds though.

The only websites related to satoshi is bitcoin.org and bitcointalk.org, you can see the domain extension is not using .com coz he is not selling or offering service as commercial to anyone.

The very first forum was actually in sourceforge which was you linked that is inaccessible right now then moved on this domain. The .com domain is different and was bought by someone then bought by roger ver, up until now he still the owner IIRC. And bitcoin.com is not a forum.
