You can view this balance by logging into icwd.cardportal.com with your card credentials and can still use it at POS terminals or withdraw from local ATMs. The reason your BitGold account displays a $0 on your card is that the new card is now displayed on your dashboard rather than the old one, as was mentioned in the emails sent out to beta participants in mid-November and last week. All future redemptions will be made to the teal GoldMoney card. We recommend using your beta card to spend down the balance as the beta card will be inactive starting January 17th. If the amount is too high to do so reasonably, give us a shout at [email protected] and we will be happy to assist.

I was an early adopter and received a very tatty temporary Mastercard a few months back. I thought that was bad enough .... until this week they sent me a Replacement, proudly sporting the new Goldmoney Livery ... just one problem - MY BALANCE HAS DISAPPEARED! A week of Support requests remain unanswered :O There is no way I am going to let this pass NO F W!

I have it and have used it successfully (I did have to contact the card support since it didn't work the first few times).

Can you imagine I was recently thinking about buying bitgold? Selling it now sounds like a good idea.

Their support is very bad. But still now a days they doing Google advertising lot. Don't know what they are trying to do. For any kind of issues, we need to contact them few times to resolve the issues, so I fed up and sold my bitgold and now stop looking into their site.

I honestly dont trust bitgold, I got there prepaid card and here is some info:

*I had to apply three times to get the card (could be my fault for low resolution graphic)

I transferred $30 to the card 1 day before I got the card, so when I go it I spent $30 at circle.com and it worked.

I loaded $40 from my debit card, it took 3 days to post in my account, on the third day I called bitgold USA support, it took me about 5 minutes to just tell them my email, it was a asian women on the phone but I think that is also my fault I have a NYer accent(?) and I slur a bit when I talk, besides her English was good, anyway she puts me on hold for about 2 minutes and gets back to me that the deposit will go through in about 2 hours I say thanks and hang up. I then went to my account and he $40 was there, so I did not have to wait or I thought. I then send the $40 to my bitgold prepaid card which took 2 more days, I don't really blame bitgold so much for that though, it looks weird depositing by debit card and then withdrawing to there debit card, the reason was because circle.com does not accept the card I use so I had to use bitgold card which worked.

There email support is horrible I recommend talking on the phone since it only took 5 minutes or so to resolve my problem.

I have 0.06 on my account now and doubt I will be using them, I dont really trust them.

I loaded it with 1 euro and then 9 euro. Balance was 10 euro, now: 9.03 euro! It doesn't show any outgoing transactions...

Hmm, never would have guessed bitgold to be a scam. Wish they were more upfront about the limitations of being a US citizen however. That was a pain to know I had no way of retrieving the dollar value of my bitgold.

I put 10 euro on it, haven't used it yet. But it's handled by an external prepaid-card provider, so I don't think it's fake.

Edit: When I try to order something on eBay, it says "The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number."...

anyone got the new debit card they are offering or is that fake too?

I was wondering if bitgold was a scam as well.  After buying some gold and sharing the site with others.  I now have my goldmoney MasterCard and really enjoy the website.

I have just myself signed up to Bitgold, but i did a search for any scam, and found this forum, i be very careful know.
I am sorry to learn they closed your account, but you must admit that it was foolish and risky to try to exchange your bitgold with your own bank account. you should have exchanged them to bitcoins, far less risky
transaction. because your bank account is used for other transactions, not a good idea to begin with.
