So it sounds like the partial refund that came out in emails is still in process, here's the email response I got from Bitmain CS :

"Good day!
the refund application has already been delivered, and it is processing now. please wait, for it has to go through a series of procedures and be dealt with by different departments.

feel free to get back to me if u have additional queries, thanks!

Best regards
Huizhen

I'll take it with a grain of salt , but if first batch B3 buyers are to get a partial refund they initially said a few months, and then 30-60 days , it's been about 30 days so I'll keep an eye out for updates...

Ha. Just goes to show Bitmain's way of operating. If they were a half decent company they would at least refund everyone and not just people in their country. Its not as if its so difficult to send refunds given that the payment method is usually BCH anyway. They can simply check transaction history then send everything back. The choice to refund only in China is a great sign of bias and favoritism that puts us international buyers at a huge disadvantage.

SO there only refunding in China ? Wonder why only China ? ...... I know they are lifting the ban on coins in China by 2019 ...  sorry i gotta being this up i bet Bone Spurs trump the troll is the cause of some of it an not in a good way for the US.

if you live in a US id be worried my point get out an vote progressive in Nov 2018 an I"m not off topic either it does mater we can't set back and watch it happen when the people can change it still in the US .

Anyone followed up with Bitmain CS about the status of these refunds?  I think I'll shoot a followup today unless someone else has had communication with them...

Does anyone know how many B3's shipped in the second batch?  When they first came up, I bought one:  Payment date :   2018-05-08 15:05:57  followed by: Shipment date:   2018-05-09 17:29:53 followed by deliver yesterday May 11...  to Vancouver.

Then they sold out, but became available again on 2018-05-09 I got one more and I just got notification that the shipment is on its way.

My apologies if I came on a bit strong in my earlier post.  Perhaps my bad day at work contributed some.  I'll make an effort to be nicer and stay on subject in the future.  I did hop on here to say that Bitmain did send me an email as well offering me the refund.  I didn't ask for it.  I didn't open a ticket with them.  I just woke up one morning (May 7) and found the email from them in my inbox......

Appreciate you coming back in here with that response, much respect and water under the bridge ... my response may have equally been a little harsh, so apologies if I got defensive of the people here in the thread... best of luck to us all in getting a little something back , and maybe a good lesson to us all about the risks involved in buying 1st batches from Bitmain...

Bitmain takes a lot of shit ,but credit to them for at least trying to do something about this last B3 batch 2 controversy (and credit to them for putting out products that generally run/mine as advertised)

I was under the impression everyone was being treated equally.  My bad.

Now to stray completely off topic I'll post my earnings since this kind of data is generally hard to come by.  Not as good as I had hoped. But still confident the miner will pay well in the long run.  I'm running on the uupool.

Thank you for understanding and apologizing. They did send a mass email and created a ticket to all batch 1 customers after receiving many complaints from international buyers. My guess is that they were not planning on reimbursing international buyers, but because the Chinese refund news were widely spread they had no other choice.

We all have our bad days at work, don't worry about it!

I think the refund was a group effort rather than a single person's and Bitmain was flooded with tickets on the matter so they asked everyone to stop submitting. Good outcome anyway.

I've also put my B3 on uupool and earning is similar but it was left off until two days ago due to the amount of noise it makes.

I have change the front fan and removed the rear fan so it is now running pretty quiet. Temp wise, it is sub 50c for chip and sub 40c for board.

Second batch has already shipped so let see how the earnings will be in a weeks time.

I submitted a ticket to Bitmain yesterday, and received this email back regarding my submitted ticket :

"With regards to the decrease in the price of our B3 miner, we are presently working on a compensation package for the affected customers. There will be an email sent out to you in the next few days with the details and relevant terms and conditions.

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Carol‍

We'll see how quickly they come up with a solution, i'm cool with a refund like Chinese customers are getting, that's ideal, or a ~ $600 coupon (but not multiple $100,$200 coupons, that won't cut it)

Hello people!  Life is not fair.  Whoever told you it would be and that you would be compensated if something unfair happened to you were wrong!  Obviously if Bitmain wants to offer me a coupon I'll graciously accept it and use it if I have another miner I want to buy from them.  But when I purchased the B3 at roughly $2500.  I knew what I was buying and I knew that my advantage on the network would only last for a short time.  Good grief people.  Grow up!  We're not in Kindergarten anymore...

Well, you don't get if you don't ask and this seems to be the case for customers in China . If you are happy accepting your own fate and do nothing about it then so be it. Things will never change unless something is spoken.

Thanks for the lecture DigitalMan, but I have to agree with dsldsl, we have posted in here that we all expect to receive the same treatment as the Chinese customers who are already being offered the refund, that is the point of this thread, you can get off your high horse now if you don't understand the point of this thread

I have also submit a ticket to Bitmain myself. I had a live chat with them earlier today and they only said coupon will be issued

Even I found it unusual for Bitmain to refund. If the second batch is a month later then fair enough.

So they told you they'd issue a $628 coupon ?

They did not say the exact amount, they just said "we will send you coupon later"
