It's not impossible, but I don't think it is necessary to do that on a home personal miner. I think it is probably a good idea to do that for a huge mining farm in the long term if you have enough investment tho.

I'm pretty sure there's more cost effective way to obtain electricity than put billions of dollars into a beta fusion reactor. Especially for China which has electricity cheaper than dirt.

I only know of fusion power in experimental stages, but would be interested to see if someone had a viable over-unity fusion power generation process even in limited deployment.

Also on the subject of fusion having nothing to do with bombs... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_Bomba

Also on the subject of the Antminer S9... actually wait I have nothing to contribute there. But Bitmain's apparently working on a full-custom 16nm chip we'll probably see on it.

Yes... the power we can harvest from fusion is incredible. If we start using top end ICBM against each other, there will not be much left of current civilization. But anyways.

In controlled environment to harvest energy, we're at a stage where we get more energy than we put in (to do the fusion). I think the numbers were 500Mw in for 2000Mw out in a fusion reactor that is being built in Europe by 2020.

This thread is a trap designed  to make people angry.

the op has done many others.

A new poster puts in a post on nuking Japan and I feel this is an attempt to get us to fight on this thread.

I stated that nuclear fusion which has nothing to do with nuclear fission and bombs.   We dont have viable nuclear fusion technology yet.

And i replied that's inaccurate Tongue

A fission detonator is used to ignite fusion fuel. Its viable nuclear fusion. Its also possibly a bomb.

Maybe you are referring to "Cold Fusion", however "viable nuclear fusion" are very much viable and very much in existence and very much in use.

The fusion power plants are very green and much safer. Even tho a possible meltdown is still a possible meltdown.

There aren't many yet (was mostly small one as PoC at first), as its fairly new, (few years), and there are some industrial grade one under construction right now. Smiley

Ok, show me one commercial grade nuclear fusion power plant.  I can show you hundreds of nuclear fission power plants.

Sure, you can start here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fusion_power first "commercial" reactor is in 2014. Which is the only one i need to prove your fallacy. But regardless, nuclear fusion isin't new so this is a moot point. Even though as a commercial element this is very new, nuclear fusion it itself is not that new. Wink

Ok, saw that in the National Enquirer   http://www.nationalenquirer.com/ , too.

When it come to talk about Middle East countries, please show some respect ..
as @robertocoin said USA is the only country used nuclear bombs on Japan in order to achieve a cheap victory.

Arabs and Middle East countries aren't what you usually see in media.

If by "cheap victory" you mean ending the war without requring a ground invasion of the Japanese mainland which would have cost millions of lives for both sides - and ripped up the country even worse than it already was - then yeah it was cheap.

It is true that Saudi Arabia is desperate to become a nuclear power to neutralize Iran.

Just heard from a forum that Bitmain is going to use nuclear fusion on their s9 antminer?  Is that possible?

Are you serious? How about no.

I'm not sure if you're serious, and you're not giving any link, but yeahno. We're going to live in an Utopia long before you'll be able to buy nuclear bombs at your local store.

I think so.  I think a lot of Middle East countries will buy the S9 if that's the case.

I think you're wrong... The ONLY country that has used nuclear weapons is the US and used it twice on Japan. So in any case it'd be mostly North America to buy the s9 antminer?

No, not North America. Canada isint the US. And no, America already have nuclear weapon, it would probably be dissidents, such as in the US that would try to buy them. Anyways nuclear reactors aren't exactly portable and only dissidents would want to make a cheap dirty bomb out of radioactive materials.

It wasn't particularly funny, so it seemed more like trolling. Which i'm just fine humoring, but your replies weren't funny either ;(

Maybe if you keep trying you'll get better? Tongue

Now that is funny.  hahaha

That might be true if there were any of the latter in your posts...  Cheesy

Otherwise it's simply called trolling.

I think gallery2000 actually meant "Cold Fusion" instead of "Nuclear Fusion". Does that make things more palatable to folks? They had such a load of money they bought all the patents required....  Smiley

I am talking about nuclear fusion, not nuclear fission.

What exactly do you think a thermonuclear weapon is? You can do a chain reaction of nuclear fission and the heat it generate allow "hot" nuclear fusion. Nuclear fusion is not anything less than a potential nuclear bomb. Tongue

Are you making jokes?   This one was not really funny.

But power companies and mining companies are two different things.  But China does have certain areas where they can get cheap electricity.   I could see bitmain teaming up with a nuclear reactor if electricity was cheap though.  But they would not own it just buy electricity.

xD Radioactive isotope is not particularly cheap either. This is pretty much just impossible. You could see a small nuclear power plant feeding datacenters however. Maybe that would be economical, i have no idea.
