Batch 2 is not being shipped, yet. Only batch 1. Just received my batch 1 today.

Based on the list linked to, anything after around May 17-18 would have to be batch 2 since batch 1 was sold out by then. My batch 2 order might actually be on there, just different time for payment confirmation. Won't know for sure until I receive shipping update.

It wouldn't make any sense for bitmain to ship batch #2 early. That being said, and I'm sure there is an explanation, it does seem like 100+ batch #2 units were shipped early.

What? That's shit mate. We paid $2000 for one, they paid ~$1500 for two and or 850 each and they get them two months early? what the literal F.

They will wait till they ship on the dates they said they would ship.  Remember they are already bought, why would they ship early?

You can buy a bitmain device to ship in two months or an innosilicon one to ship immediately.  So right this minute, bitmain is losing sales to a competitor.  If they have parts to build and ship miners now, then they probably would prefer to be doing so.  Very likely they still have time to get parts and build miners in time for the promised batch two sales no matter what, so not shipping anything now when they could be costs them money and supports their competitor.

The flip side of course is that flooding the market like they did with the D3s would seriously piss off the people who bought the Z9s.  But then again, pissing off their customers has never seemed like a concern for them.

I had made a batch 2 order with coupons from 1st batch on June 5 and I do not see it on that list and did not receive shipping notification. Kind of odd since batch 1 has been sold out since May. Guessing that list is batch 2 orders though since it starts at 1 and 5/11.

I wonder what bitmain is going to do now.  It looks like they basically reached the end of shipping on batch one.  https://blog.bitmain.com/z9/shipping_update/2018-06-25.html

The last date on that list that received a large number of orders was 5-17.  5-18 still has around 30 or so but everything after that looks like a trickle which would theoretically be transactions that had small fees and did not get confirmed very quickly.  The most recent payment dates for ones on the end of the list were for less than a week ago, well after sales for batch one were ended.

So, if they still have units they can build they could start shipping the next  batch.  But if they did that, I suspect it would look something like batch one did where some people got a miner weeks before the majority did.  Or they could sit on them, put them in their own mine and wait until the promised shipping period of late Aug.  I suspect they won't want to do that though because innosilicon already has a competitor shipping to market and they don't want to wait too long and risk missing sales to innosilicon.  Which would suggest to me that they will probably start to ship the next batch well ahead of schedule.  But if they do that, they are going to seriously impede ROI for buyers of the first batch, which will piss everyone off.

So I'm curious to see what they will do.

The main core voltage converter is:
https://www.intersil.com/content/dam/intersil/documents/isl6/isl68127.pdf
with integrated switching fets and drivers:
https://www.intersil.com/content/dam/intersil/documents/isl9/isl99227-27b.pdf

The switching clock is internally generated and configured via pmbus. From what I see this is actually a pretty well done VRM layout. Obviously can't determine much about ripple or gain and phase margin but hey... it looks nice.

I think it would be unlikely that the crystal is used with the VRM, given its location and I think I see the traces running to the asic.

Could you post a higher res image of the crystal area? If you don't have one that's fine, I'll just dissect mine tonight.

I'm getting the itch to pull out one of my hash board and measure the base clock and PLL clocks (if off-chip) jsut to see if the difference in our hashrates are just the delta in the reference clock accuracy. Maybe they're using a shitty crystal ocxo with wide tolerance and could be overclocked with a change of crystal or loading capacitance. Then it's just a matter of relating the pll base clock to the web page setting and create a translation table.
Maybe a nice low jitter mems tcxo...
Though going beyond 750 may raise thermal concerns. Might require sourcing some copper heatsinks and using liquid metal TIM?
Definitely a warranty voiding move Tongue but doesn't require software/firmware changes

.... Would anyone be interested in copper replacement heatsinks if I contracted the manufacture of them?

Its one onboard crystal on Z9 hashboards, did not look to closely on that part but i believe its used in voltage regulating unit. Chips is internal.

Depends upon ambient I guess, mine is running at ~60C @ 750. No extra cooling needed.

Yes, you can profit switch between coins on Powermining with awesome miner. Powermining also have a proportional payout scheme thats works better with profit switching than most other pools that have PPLNS payout scheme

This is awesome man.  Thanks for the reply.  How does one go about setting it up?  The last time I tried, I failed miserably on MPH with my two Antminer L3+ scrpyt miners.

Im currently compiling a Guide, will update you when its done ;-)
L3+ scrypt miners also works with profit switching on Powermining.pw via AM. I have 9 of those actively switching myself.

Anyone have any luck with pointing this at NICEHASH?

Not getting any accepted shares.

Is their Equihash pool not updated since the upgrade that was taking place?

Z9`s does not work with Nicehash, according to their own statement. If you want to mine ZEN/ZCL/ZEL/BTCP/VOT feel free to join my pool, https://www.Powermining.pw, its been optimized for Z9/A9`s.

Hi cod3gen,

Can one implement AwesomeMiner on Powermining, and switch between the most profitable coin to mine?

Would really be cool if one could.

Thanks,
