I am getting huge numbers of rejected/discarded shares on both Slushpool and on Nanopool, and no hashrate is reported on either pool.  Tried for over an hour on each pool.

I've mined ZCash on GPUs on both of these pools since the first day that GPU miners were available and both have been rock solid.

Are others able to run Z9 on either of these 2 pools?  Should I choose a different pool for running ASIC?

(I'm a "newbie" because my account got hacked and I locked it.  Never bothered to go thru the recovery process.)

Hello all.

Just wanted to report my initial findings with the Z9 I received today.
The default hash board clock is 500MHz. Every 10% increase in clock resulted in a 10% increase in average hashrate and a 10% increase in DC power consumption on the hashboards. Each one is around 6A at 500MHz and 9A at 750MHz. The controller runs around 0.5A but varies a bit.

I noticed other Z9s on luckpool. Some are hashing a fair bit faster than mine. I wonder if they have exceeded the clocks in the drop down box to achieve it.
This one gets over 17k consistently

as reported by the pool or the antminer status page? I'm sitting at 15.3 @750MHz as reported by antminer

So considering I purchased one @ $850 for shipment in late August, are the chances of me making any profit from mining with this slim? Also does Bitmain ever ship batches early?

I would use a $420 or less coupon to lower initial cost. If you don't have a coupon you can buy here on selling forum or on eBay.

That’s actually what I did - found a $420 coupon someone was selling for $150. Ended up paying $782.73 total for the miner, APW3 PSU, and DHL shipping to the US. I almost ended up getting 2x of them with two coupons but the wait time turned me off from doing so, since I didn’t know what would happen between then and late August.

I guess worst case scenario, I’m pretty sure I can resell the miner to someone in the US and make my money back. Seems like there’s always people wanting ASICs, even if they’re not even profitable after paying for power. Never understood that. Btw has anyone purchased a single miner and shipped with DHL to the US? If so, how much did you pay in duties/fees? I heard from someone else that miners are exempt from duties in the US, but that seems false since i highly doubt that shipping companies even know what miners are. I actually purchased a Trezor from Switzerland and it was shipped out via DHL, didn’t have to pay any duties or anything like that. Could this also be the case with the miner I purchased?

DHL is apparently hit and miss. I've used them for a couple orders and paid zero import fees, and both deliveries were on time. However, I HAVE heard reports of import fee problems and miners getting stuck in customs using DHL, so YMMV.

The benefits above 630 are trivial tbh.

I have 1x z9m on a cheapo 500W PSU

and I have a IBM 1400W with 3x OC z9m and I'm pulling 975W.

minmax to naxx baby.

I think it's machine to machine. Mine seems to peak around 700, others see improvement at the max 750.

Ya...at best only zcash will be remaining on equihash by the time you get your unit with very high difficulties you'll be looking at a 1-2 year ROI unless you did a coupon deal...no point in getting anything but batch 1.

No one knows what the market will do. Profits could shoot up in a month's time... or not.

So, what would you guys say the chances are of batch 2 (Aug 24 ship date) being worthwhile? 50/50? I'm willing to take the risk as long as there's a reasonable chance of at least breaking even. Just because I think this mining stuff is cool. Cool

LOL @VoskCoin... making a deal with the devil.

How Z9 works on Prohashing pool?

Check the Pool Thread but here is my last update on that topic.

I'll test mine on Prohashing when I get it but I'm waiting on tracking

Someone posted over on Prohashing, looks like the Z9 is not working there at this time.

Just saw an updated post on Prohashing, it is reported to be working using the algo specific equihash port 3336. I will have my Z9 soon and will confirm.

I suspect this should work on 3336 because my GPU miners work better on the dedicated port.

Here's my Bitmain Antminer Z9 Mini review if anyone is interested, thanks to Crazydane for the trustworthy watt report @ 750 OC

Hey Vos,

Thanks for a great video.  Watched it a couple of times now.

Do you know if we can mine on MiningPoolHub, and let AwesomeMiner switch between the most profitable coins for the Equihash algo?

I read like the last 10 pages on this thread, but did not see anybody that got it right.

Thanks,

Last 655 of first batch have shipped, bringing total to 5426 for first batch.

77 + 607 + 748 + 2002 + 2337 + 549 + 2422 = 8742 so far, with the last payment date of '2018-06-20 20:44:39'. Lots of 50-unit orders in those last two batches too: $100000 orders?!?

And still going... maybe batch-1 was 10000 units?
