Bitcoin FTW!
What sort of power draw at the wall are you getting with your OC at 600 MHz? Nice to see temps so low, but it makes sense considering the miner draws just about 270W stock at 220v and they didn't have to use two full size loud fans to cool the thing.

Can you share some pics of the unit and miner status screen please?

Not the unit (i'm not at home), but it looks basically like a shorter version of the X3--no front fan with a mesh screen that goes the whole height, probably about 2/3 or less the length. Here's the status screen oc to 13K:

This is pretty concerning if the pools are rejecting the hash for these miners...  I would love to know how they were tested before shipping if they don't work with any pool....

Seems like they must have been working fine for the 51% attacks on BTG  Wink

Just sayin'

I don't know if it's them or some formatting issue with the Z9, as a share is a share is a share. Smiley I'll play with it more when I'm done with work for the day, I'm sure they'll work overall on other pools. It may be something as simple as adjusting the port or difficulty setting somehow.

Well, mine arrived. Pretty darned quiet and low temps, even with a bit of overclocking. I think these can climb pretty high OC wise, especially in an environment where noise isn't an issue...

So far I haven't been able to run it on any pools other than antpool, though, which sucks. 0 shares on nanopool for ZEC and suprnova pools for ZEC, ZCL, and BTG, on 10-20 minutes each, even though all three read as alive (all shares get rejected). Instant 10 shares while revving up on antpool. Guess I'll leave it there for now.
What kind of hashrate are you getting after overclocking?

I got it as far as 13k with acceptable noise levels and temps at or below 60, but I probably won't run it that high for long, or at least not until I can move it to the basement, where it is cooler and I can set the fan higher.

EDIT: also as a note, while there haven't been any HW in an hour of running, I DID have one of the cards be a bit flaky on one of the OC settings, so watch the individual cards if you plan to OC/void your warranty. Day 1 would be a crappy day to lose 33% of your hashrate. Wink

Too bad that I live in an apartment, so these ASICS are probably not going to work for me. Unless the Z9 is about as noisy as the GPU fan on my 1070. That is all that I can tolerate.

At stock, once it's done booting (about half to 2/3 the noise of an A3), it quiets to a whisper. Honestly I think it would be fine in an apartment, I have it running overclocked in my living room right now and my GPU rig is louder...

Very tempted to try. However, the available batch doesn't ship out until late August or September. May have difficulty achieving ROI with that late date. Especially if all the Equihash coins start forking to new algo. That's what I get for not striking while the iron is hot.(However, the noise concern wasn't resolved until today.)

Honestly I have my doubts this first batch will ROI without a rise in the coin value (unless you have cheap or free power). Maybe grab a coupon or two from a board member if you want to buy one.

I have heard Zencash may not fork, but I know BTG will, which is why I'm bummed I'm not mining it right now while I can.

Also, a note for those using antpool--so far, the hashrate has continually read zero, on the dashboard and worker pages. But after 15 minutes (and I assume a block I contributed to), I do have a balance. So in full "antpool launches before they have their shit together" fashion. everything seems to be working correctly even if it won't share that info with you...

First batch will ROI before they hit 40,000 most likely.

Is this a gimmick? The problem is they might spam so many units that your profits drop greatly or u just cannot break even. This has occurred with the D3, and now L3+.

It's quite different.

10k sols is impressive. But equihash is a big profit algo. more so than dash. There are 1.5-1.7m GPU mining it.

For example, to half profits for all, they need to ship 80,000 Z9. I don't think that is the case.

For L3+ it depends when someone bought them, My batch 1 L3+s bought last year in May (pre-order started in April 2017 I believe for $1370) paid themselves off in less than 2 months mining GAME over $45/day. Ever since it was a free ride  Grin and I must add trouble free ride that is easy to overclock and no failures.

I am talking about recent ones. Not 1 year ago ones. My year ago asic did fine too.

What do you mean a gimmick? We all know the risk with buying one of these or any asic for that matter.
