They stated 50 max order on their site . . but for orders larger than that to contact them so who knows what happens / limit / possible discount at that quantity O_O

Interesting. I was able to do 100 from the first offering without any limits. They are definitely not offering any discounts - even for purchases of 100 units right now. The demand is simply too high. Also, I suspect that this batch was simply the leftovers from batch1 that didn't pay. This happens all the time - people add to cart and checkout, but fail to pay and then Bitmain offers them up again on the market. I'm guessing they had 1000-2000 units and a few hundred fell through, hence the same shipping date and price.
Thanks for the input, interesting idea and it makes sense to me O_O
Where are you located / on an order that size do you get slammed with import duties?

Yes, import duties suck. We're in the Midwest (US).

How is gona raise difficulty with one unit if it has 15MHS? If dificulty is 500k, with one D3 gona be 515k?

Also, anyone speculate on price vs difficulty relationship? Using LTC as a reference over the past 3 months diff went up 3x and price did the same (roughly speaking). Does price follow difficulty in general?

I guess I'm waiting for the D5 to come out.  Hashrate will explode so these things will be almost pointless by Dec.

yes it is.

If you imagine LTC for example. People were mining with hashpower ranging 100-250mhs , and then came the L3+ with 504...

Which is double but still in good range..

With Dash, people's standards was to mine with 150-900mh/s .... And suddenly 15,000mhs machines come out. All those Genesis people that paid mhs as gold with Genesis, will be making maybe 5$/month with their 400mhs... It's sad... But that's life.

I also personally do not think it is worth for anyone to purchase anything from a 3rd batch that might be for October. You will need 3 machines to make what 1 made in Sept. Thats my opinion of course but it makes sense...

I'll try to keep the butt hurt to a minimum, but I was on the site at 6:30pm HKG time and kept getting connection timeout messages. Finally added to cart after like 20mins, but by the time I got to checkout they were sold out. I was on an iPad with LTE connection, was that the problem? It seemed impossible to get any of the pages to load and process an order.

I paid in LTC and not sure if I'd paid in BTC I would have got one..they gave you only 1/2 hour

so damn.....literally were sold out in 53 min from the guy posting 1 min and 33secs on the bitmain D3 thread

to the guy posting they were out at the 54min mark

so what 52min they had some in stock

either bitmain is putting out small batches bit by bit ..or the big data hall guys also are in our boat
with no x11 stuff around..and just get on and order 500 at a pop

it is one reason or the other they went so frigging fast

but for me..I'd pay in LTC if anyone wants to get one in the future to be safe......

also, you have to kinda save each confirm page to a print file due to if bitmain screws up (often) that took

me 11 min or so ..had to put shipping address in and all that as a new account

keep that in mind to

I also was SITTING on the site for 1/2 hour before the sale..and when the time hit the lag was BIG
so not sure I could have even log'd on when they site went live

anyway things for folk to consider on the next go around

anyone can predict the difficulty we will have for Dash on the 1st of October? 5M?

Its really hard, but would love it if someone tried!

I'm calculation with 10M diff, and 9 months ROI time for the D3's.
I lower my expectations, I'd rather be pleasantly surprised with lower diff, than crushed by getting my hopes up! Tongue

If anyone is interested in D3 and missed the ordering window, PM me and we can figure out something Wink

Beware users, this is a new account and likely is a scam.  Definitely do escrow with a trusted party if you feel compelled to purchase from new users.

It's ok to be paranoid/secure but I doubt you need to worry I followed my BTC payment and I think bitmain has the funds to cover incidentals lol.

So I wouldn't worry too much. Now just have to wait and hope they decide to ship early.

it had a slight delay for me but nothing unusual, my internet speed is ~50mbs

Must have been a shitty connection for me. Other tabs seemed to load fine but Bitmain was so slow.

Damn, I didn't manage to order. They were sold out 5 minutes after the facebook anouncement! I guess they were available for order before that. Anyway it eeems like a tiny batch and I've seen people that ordered and won't pay. I'll be on the lookout for next batch and follow this thread.

BTW BTC payment must be done within an hour or 3 days? I'm a bit confused about that.

BTC and LTC payment in 1 hour, USD wire transfer in 3 days.

Thanks, that's unfortunate. Then I wouldn't be able to pay it anyway if I ordered. Oh well, next batch then. I hope the next one is September 18-30th as well and I hope I can get it. I'll be following this thread.
