The shit-hole i went through with my wire-transfer reassured me that the whole crypt-currency is on the right track. If the price settles a bit more, it will be perfect.
I had not registered my bank-account for a higher limit to buy coins so i was forced to use wire-transfer.
The transfer did not show up at my account-history, because these guys would do int. transfers in USD only once a day. I found that out after speaking to their support for around half an hour... That stuff made me crazy! I was thinking that the 3 days limit from bitmain to receive wire-transfer is already short and then such problems! A good thing was that the usd-exchangerate had not dramatically changed until they executed my order. Next time i will buy whatever CryptoCurrency you can use and pay with that !

Ooh La La, C'est Zoom!
Does anyone know if you will be able to use this for other X11 coins? I am currently on the lookout for one to mine altcoins with.

Yes, you can mine any x-11 coin. You just have to set it up to a pool that has that coin and it won't differentiate from Dash or any other X-11. Darkcoin is dead though, I'm not sure what other X-11 exist.

Edit: found a decent list of X11 mineable currencies: http://www.coins2day.com/x11-coins-mining-software.html

You're a legend, thank you! I would prefer a piece of equipment that could do multiple algorithms - the hardest part is just finding hardware that is available.

ASICs by their nature can only do one protocol. The best multi-algorithm miners are GPUs. The trade-off is the one that you always make when choosing a specialist versus a generalist. Specialists are fast but inflexible; generalists are flexible but not fast. That said, there are some algorithms that are ASIC resistant and those are the ones where the GPUs really shine. If you go down the GPU path, there are several GPU options (AMD versus nVidia), and each one has algorithms where it's more efficient than the other. Don't forget to factor in cost/availability into the efficiency calculations. AMD may be awesome on your favorite algorithm, but if you can't get AMD cards, then it's a moot point, and nVidia becomes the de facto "winner."

Here are a few more web sites to help you see what's going on in the world of mining pools and coin values:

Thanks man, so I assume it's always pool mining?

I'm sure you can set it up for solo mining but the only way you'd find a block is by having hundreds of miners or mine a near dead coin.

I was lucky to buy an Antminer D3 from Bitmain last week,
where can I find a manual to configure it (e.g. Dash mining, adress, pool, ??)?

This is my first asic so wanna prepare and read before it arrives.

The antminers are web managed.
You connect the miner to the network... wait 1-3 min for dhcp, do a network scan and open the antminer via http.
Then use this:
user     root
password    root

If you like to setup more than 1 miner, you can download from bitmain support web the "BitmainMinerTool"

Have a nice day and sorry for my bad english, i am latin american Cheesy

Hello !

Is anybody have already buy a Antminer on Alibaba ?

There is a lot of Antminer L3+ to buy, and some D3 also

Do you think is there risk to make an order there ? (i live in Europe)

I saw Bitmain D3 for sale on E-bay for 3..4 times the price compared to Bitman (ask & demand)
What is the price on alibaba (on average)?
The only one who will make money on that is the bastard that sold it to you.

Why so hostile? Buyers are not kids when they have that much money to throw, they are adults. If they can't do simple math it's their money. If they want to ROI 10 months after, it's still their choice. No seller forced it to them.

Do not fall for this. People were buying the L3+ on amazon for $6,000.00 a month ago, because they saw the profit was showing at $1500.00 USD per unit, per month. They did not take into account the reality that once those units hit the network the units would drop in their production due to difficulty rising. Now those people will take 10-12 months to pay off that $6,000.00 machine. The very same will happen to the D3, only worse, because there are so many going to flood the network. DO NOT BUY MACHINES AFTERMARKET AT HUGE MARK UPS!! The only one who will make money on that is the bastard that sold it to you.

Hello,, i found a bitmain website with this url: http://bitmains.com and it look exactly like the http://bitmain.com. You better be careful about phissing and scam site.
They even created a scam replica site for the payment's provider, in order to look legit:   www.coinpaymentS.net  insted of www.coinpayment.net  Smiley

They even sent me an email from noreply@coinpaymentS.net :    "  Thank you for using CoinPayments.net! To complete your checkout, send 0.41593000 BTC to 32Acfmno9WAWRLfzmSQwdzRJ7c79cmvU5J within 1 day, 2 hours, 30 minutes (make sure you leave enough time to get 2 confirms before the time limit!). "

why so long time?   1 day, 2 hours, 30 minutes   Grin Cheesy Cheesy     Real Bitmain asks for 1 hour  Wink

--------------------

UPDATE:     www.coinpaymentS.net   are really  swindlers, as they stole a lot or Ripple from the customers - there is petition on facebook called "Petition for Coinpayments.NET to return customer's Stolen Ripple Coins"  -   https://www.facebook.com/groups/1986688654888260/

So stay away from this scammer too.  They seem to be a mutual gang with bimainS.com    Grin

and, by surprise, they have all miners available  Grin Grin Grin

I even placed a fake order for D3 via wire transfer, and instead of sending me invoice they send a shit email saying:   " Thank you for your order.  Your order is on-hold until we confirm payment has been received. "

and that's all  Grin

First way of checking the legit seller is to request invoice for a wire payment with thier banking details.   Scammers always fail to give you the banking details.
Or they "only accept" bitcoin payment which are not traceable.

Bitmain is shit company. They completly lack any costumer service...
This is actually untrue. They are doing very well considering their position. They are manufacturing and distributing new cutting edge technology throughout the world in a very difficult space. Their supply chain is constrained by being well down the list on the Chipmakers priorities. In addition, they are dealing with internal pressure from the Chinese government and trading across a multi national customer base. To the contrary. Bitmain is an impressive company that is adjusting very well to some very difficult circumstances.

Agree, every dealing I've had with them so far has been positive. They also sell to the public when they have product and don't burn their customers.

I had a Wire Transfer that took 28 calendar days to be recognized by Bitmain. Even though it got to their bank overnight. It just did not get picked up by Bitmain.  All that time my order was listed as " Unpaid " "Expired". It was not a comfortable situation. Customer support would not respond because to them this is very common. They will only answer you once they see your money actually credit to their account. Then they will change the order status and mark your case resolved. Wire Transfers are the worst form of payment and money transfer on the planet. ESPECIALLY international transfers. I will never use one again.
Strange situation.   My wire (swift) payment was recognised in 2 days after being sent.
