How is two 1200w D3s more than a 2880w PSU can handle? BTW, I'm looking for super high wattage PSUs if anyone knows where to get them. Wondering if options more powerful than the 2400w ones from ParallelMiner are available.

I was originally planning on using the 2400w parallel miner options to power two D3s each, but is that safe?
I always keep my usage at or below 80% of capacity. Just for safe keeping. None of the numbers are definite. There is a lot of variance in each unit and some PSU's don't handle that as well as others. I don't claim to know this particular PSU. His issue does sound PSU related. Possibly control board but not likely on more than one server all at once.

I saw a post in one of the pool chats that GranatGas shit the bed. Anyone else hear this???

No they haven't. He is migrating to a new server so can't use a secured website at the moment. Take the 's' out of https and you can access the site. Ie. http://granatgas-pool.info
Thank you!

yep..rub salt in the wound
sorry did not want to hurt you,  but if somebody bought 10 D3s, he will be able to get 1 S9 free of charge.

You can only use 1 coupon per product.
So no I cannot get a free S9.  If I wanted to use all of my 10 coupons I would have to buy 10 S9's !!

Yea and I bet they will raise the prices on the next batch of S9s by 1000 Yuan (150 USD) or more too so the coupons wont make any difference
LOL.....and.....you probably need to convert your "coupon" to BCH before you can use it.

lol!!!!!   this is probably true

what is the best pool to use? I've been on Supernova for a while and I would like to try a couple of others. Especially if someone can recommend a good one that switches to the most profitable coin at the time.

IBM 2880W should be able to power two D3s without problem, I've done just that for the last ~2 weeks. You can unplug one of the miners and see if your problems go away.

As for other PSUs, there is Bitmain's own 2600W APW5... can be found on Amazon for about $300. Sadly Bitmain doesn't sell them anymore, used to be $165 or something like that.

im having nothing but issues

after a day both of my units still go all X's on the chips even with newest firmware and downclocking freq

now one of the units has a hash board that is totally missing the last 4 chips on the chain and is getting massive HW errors

reboots, manual power cycles, nothing seems to bring the chips back (they dont even show X... just not there at all)

wonder if 2 of these is too much for a 2880w IBM PSU?
You are far exceeding a recommended draw on that PSU. I can almost promise you this is your problem.

interesting

would it be better if they were each on their own APW3-12-1600 (the slim version) ive got a few laying around i can try

$10 a day on weird altcoins is a 6 month payback right now, no? that's better than any GPU miner

$10 a day on what???

You can't even get $7 a day and that's before electricity.

I have a D3 that cost me $2000, it generates $2.50 per day profit after electricity.

I have a GPU rig that cost me $1500 and I make $7 a day after electricity.

D3 ROI  = 800 days or 26.5 months... over 2 years! (After probably around a year the D3 will b3 obsolete and worthless so realistically it will never ROI)

GPU rig ROI = 214 days or just over 7 months ( after 7 months the hardware is still worth at least 50% what I paid so technically I am $750 in profit after 7 months)

So please show me your sums if how you find a D3 more profitable than a GPU rig???

I noticed on one of my D3's that the first "chain" or hashboard is not showing up in the miner status panel. I believe it's still working since my hashrate is 19GH/s on the default frequency but I'm wondering why one board doesn't show up. Anyone have this happen?

Downclock to 500Mhz or lower they will pull 1100-1150 watts compare to 1215-1230watts for 537Mh and run a lot more stable.

okay i did this and before the hash board went completely missing now its back up but still showing this:

oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooo
oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooo
oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooo

so seems like theres 6 chips on the first hash board that just dropped off for some reason

$150 coupon is not going to make a difference when you paid .42 BTC on average for your D3 i know i did.

thats like paying $3600 oh well "No risk no reward... "
