CDF shows the statistical odds that you would have solved a block "by now".
So at the start of the round after 1 share the CDF is 0.0000730%. The CDF is saying only roughly 1 in 1.37 million blocks are solved this quickly.
On average we will solve one block every (difficulty) shares. Currently that is ~1.37 million. So at 1.37 million shares CDF will be 50%. Roughly half the blocks (difficulty adjusted) have been solved faster and half long.
Our CDF currently is 98.95% thus with this many shares produced 98.95% of the time would have solved a block by now. 98.95% of blocks are solved with less shares and 1.05% of blocks are solved in longer number of shares (difficulty adjusted).
Yes - Thanks, got it now.
But one more CDF question for you, How can the current CDF go down ? - last night it was 99.7% (23:30 GMT) , this morning it was down to 96.6% (08:30 GMT),- Now it's back to 99.07%
What's going on ?
It can't. If it did and you were looking at the same block (BTC and NMC have their own CDF) then it must be a "glitch". Maybe Dr H knows more.
