Pools are a bit dodgy at the moment, not sure if I should just go solo and hope for the best (i.e. get nothing!)

There's a discussion on bitsharestalk about an issue where CLI clients are crashing.
It wouldn't surprise me if the main protoshares instance backing the pools are having a hard time staying online.

Is there a blockchain equivalent for PTS?

If you mean blockchain explorer, then yes.  It's in the main post: http://btsblock.com/chain/ProtoShares

my protoshares wallet has been an hour out of date for 8 minutes now.  How can I fix it?

Are you using the latest wallet?

Working fine for me. I've received payouts on shares from about 15-16 hours ago.

okay, but how many hps do you have and how much do you get from 24h mining?

Im getting ~18-24 hps and i only received 1 payout that was 1phs, that payout was 2d ays ago

Pools have different payout threshold.  I'm in beeer at the moment and after near 20hrs I'm seeing payments but my hpm is around 90.

I've been soloing since the new client and hard fork and difficulty increase. Seen nothing so far.  Sad

its hard out there on the protoshare street ....

Easy street more like! $96 a block. You put your i7 to work and it is earning $10 a day. That's more than most people in the world earn.

Speaking of, where's the trade threads?  I can't seem to find a link anywhere.

Here they are

That estimate is based on 40 collisions per minute. You should expect, on average, a block for every 500,000 collisions - so about 12500 minutes, or 8.68 days. Should cost you about 20.8 Kh/w - at $0.11 = $2.30

And the price of PTS is rising, maybe .0075 BTC right now, and BTC is rising a little too - so a USD value of about $94 per block now.

That's on a stock miner - on the pool miners, I think there are optimizations to be had. If we put a price on collisions -

that's $188/Million
or $0.18/thousand

I checked my wallet miner this morning and it had fallen out of sync with the network. I updated to the newest source and recompiled, but now I can't reconnect to the network. The last block that I have is number 12130.

The log file is giving me a lot of connection refused errors, any idea why?

Code:
trying connection 162.243.67.4:3888 lastseen=88.8hrs
connect() failed after select(): Connection refused

If GPU mining is 10 times faster than CPU mining, will it be a game changer? It may not affect ProtoShares much, as almost all coins may have been mined at that time, but how about bitshares and momentum algorithm?

Its apparently immune to GPU and ASICs and there was a $5000 bounty for someone who managed to do it.
