I think it is extremely unethical to allow people to lose on your site, but if they win, KYC them then confiscate funds. There are substantially better ways of going about business practices.

Either A: KYC people at the start and if they are caught lying later on then confiscate
or B: KYC people later, but allow all actions to stand and prohibit further gaming.

I do not agree with the actions taken here.

What does BitStarz do with the confiscated funds anyhow? I know Pokerstars specifically takes all confiscated funds and donates them to major charitable foundations so that they have no underlying incentive to confiscate, which does not seem to be the case here.

The extremely mentally ill and or brain dead bitcointalk account TwitchySeal is too stupid to understand what no cure no pay is!

Claiming a false hope in regard to the Game Protect group also does not have any connection to the reality, because until today we never lost a case. There are many cases still in process, but so far we never lost any. Smiley

why dont we ask h4ns what he thinks of your "no cure no pay" strategy?

A gambler usually knows better than a since 3,5 years active online gaming consumer protection entity how to enforce its claim!

What is your next enforcement step?

This kid has already lost enough.  Quit trying to scam him for more or get his hope up.

Hi all,

I figured I'll give you our side of the story here.

Unfortunately, the OP makes it sound like we like to just confiscate money from people all willynilly, as he doesn't mention on what grounds
his money was confiscated.

This young gentleman used his 60 year old mom's identity to play casino online. We found it suspicious that a 60 year old woman from Northern Africa,
was using BTC and having the username "MaskOffFuckingMaskOff". However, we wanted to give the player the benefit of the doubt as she had
excellent English skills. So we figured we'd call up and make sure the identity was correct.

Upon calling the player, she spoke NO English what so ever, but luckily, her son (OP) was there to make a translation for us. We found it strange,
and asked the son if he was the one playing, which he said he wasn't, and said his 60 year old mom was an avid gambler. I'm not sure, but 60 year
old woman from Northern Africa using BTC, doesn't speak English and having English usernames (Rap lyrics to be more specific) is a bit strange.

Further into the verification call it was quite evident that he was the player, and he ultimately confessed to be using his 60 year old mom's identity
whilst playing (the whole call with video was also recorded).

After the call we spoke with our regulators, AskGamblers and our Antifraud team, who all were in agreement to close the player down and removing
funds due to severe breaches of the terms
. I know it's easy to jump to quick conclusions and make fast judgements, but it's important to hear both
sides of the story. You guys may not agree with our decision in the end, and that's fine, opinions may differ.

However, we believe in laying all cards out there for you to see, and then you can make your own educated decision.

Wish you all a great day going forward,

BitStarz

Quit making excuses and bullshits, all you do is find any reason Whatsoever to take people bitcoins, also what do you expect if you playing using BTC and some junky ass casino asks you for KYC, if that's the case then there's no reason to use bitcoins if you wanna ask for documents ask them before the registration not after trying to withdraw. all I'm asking for is my original deposit because you have taken alot of people money and known to make excuses to take it at all costs even if it's a small mistake, also by you not showing your face during the facetime is quite sketchy and way unprofessional.

What teams you have? You are in a 3x3 office, laying on your computer trying to scam people 24/7 with a small(team) group of "people".

RHavar :   I would be careful playing at this site. From the discussion at the reference link, he has I believe unfairly taken the balance of a player for breaking what is a very arbitrary rule on max bet.
The funds that were won appear to have been won from a bet that was completely compliant, and max bets should be enforced by the software not as an excuse to confiscate someones entire
balance. Strangely enough the user has screenshoted the supposed violated terms on max-bet, but does not currently even appear on the website: https://www.bitstarz.com/terms

worthyou :  This casino refuses to pay my balance 3.45 btc. They had 2 different "conflicting" terms about bonuses. According to one of terms i was fully right. it's clear i weren't advantage gambling. I
didn't derive mymoney from "disallowed bets". The system never stopped me. I'd highly warn users to avoid bitstarz in all conditions. Do not play on here.

Dogedigital : Site confiscates funds to avoid paying out citing automatically applied bonus terms and terms connected to which the system does not reject. Unethical and unfair practices.

@ bitstars.net

Did you verify the identity of account holder prior to letting him deposit and bet?

Ask gamblers is not a regulatory body. In the real world gamblers can not regulate online casinos.

Ask gamblers is a private entity run by gamblers that cooperates with criminal online casinos to mislead online casino victims to not enforce its claims using the proper legal enforcement steps!

thanks for clearing things up for us, bitstarz.
I've played at your site for a number of years without issues. glad to see another scam accusation put to rest for another reputable site.

PS: I don't agree with confiscating the initial deposit, and many others may feel the same way. even if its in your ToS (its in every casinos ToS). Doesn't mean you have to confiscate it

I'm not sure why he's responding tbh, 100% you won't get a dime from me tho, if you wanna help feel free to I'll pay you after I get my bitcoins in my wallet other than that, this was a one time thing that I got scammed in a decade.
The law firm takes its 35% only from the collected amount and you do not have to spend a dime!

Sounds good?

Be ready to be asked to sign a contract with your real name and address that includes (he's already doxxed one of his own clients, btw):

Quote
The Player hereby sells all his claims arising out of his playing at the casino bitstarz.com to the Foundation, including the claims on all the (jointly liable) debtors and including all ancillary rights. That the foundation hereby buys these claims.

Then to be strung along for months without updates.

Then to be pressured to pay some fees up front.

Like I said, Askgamblers is siding with Bitstarz.
These gamblers do not know that Curaçao does not have a regulatory body for online games of chance! Grin

How professional! Cheesy

More or less professional than someone who promotes a business on a forum and has the worst trustrating, along with scam accusations against him that he chooses to ignore?
You do realize the irony of your situation I hope, claiming casinos scam players when you're the one that's a scammer?
