yesterday my elektronic parts arraived.
i got 16.000 mhz oscillator and r1 for the erupter.
i have soldere it in.
i used a old edenet 4 usb hub.
to fit 4 erupters into this one, i soldered the usb connectors out and put the first downwards next upwards,
next again downwards and the last again upward... this way, all ports can hold the erupters.
i opened this hub and soldered a old case fan on the voltage input of the usb hub.
then i mounted the fan dirctly with screws on the usb hubs case.
on the overclocked usb erupter i mounted a headsink from the old hd5970 grafikcard, the one from
arktic cooler what was used to cool the vrm's.
now it running since yesterday without any problem and cooler then the not modded usb erupters.
the not modded erupters getting:
(5s) speed: 333 mh/s avrg. speed: 333 mh/s
the overclocked erupter (with 16.000 mhz):
(5s) speed: 420 mh/s avrg. speed: 380 mh/s (very stable at this value).
not mutch more hw errors then the normal one.. just 0,2%
maybe i have time tomorow to make some photos to show you what i meand with the usb hub, to with all erupters into all 4 ports...
but the powersupply of the usb hub is not good enugh.. with original power supply, i can only run 2 erupters,
with 3 or 4 it dont works or it very bad works..
the hash speed is low for a 16Mhz unit. if your running cgminer make sure you have v 3.4.1+ and then add the "-icarus-timing short=90" option to it.
my understanding is that cgminer is tuned for stock BE speeds and once you start to overclock cgminer doesnt talk to it quick enough so the stick goes idle for some of the time hence the lower hash rate. it seems to get worse the faster you overclock which would make sense. adding the icarus-timing option tells to to retune for the current speeds.
that fixed my hash speeds. im now getting 477Mh/s
also what value did you get for the R1 resistor?
