Abstract
This document describes the data format and directions for reading and writing bundled binary data. Bundled data is a way of writing multiple independent data transactions (referred to as DataItems in this document) into one top level transaction. Motivation
Different people want different new features from Bitcoin Cash.
Bitcoin Cash's block interval remains 10 minutes, which is too long by comparison, as there are other chains offering intervals of seconds. Although Bitcoin Cash supports secure zero-confirmation transactions, complex scenarios besides payments need short confirmation times for better user experience, such as DeFi.

Bitcoin Cash has a limited script system which is not Turing-complete, making it more difficult to use than Ethereum's EVM. Also, it is less capable than EVM and Solidity, as they offer the best ecosystem and encompass the most programmers among all the smart contract platforms. It's a pity they cannot be utilized in Bitcoin Cash's ecosystem.

Currently, Bitcoin Cash's capability has been proven to reach 14MB. Although at this moment its block size is only 0.8 MB on average, it is growing fast: more than three times since the beginning of 2021. If it keeps growing at such a rate, 14MB would not be enough in the near future. Since issues surrounding block size larger than 14MB remain unknown and have not been field-tested, it would be best to begin getting prepared for further scaling of Bitcoin Cash's throughput.

What can Smart Bitcoin Cash contribute to the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem? Well, it builds a new playground for testing new features: It has a short confirmation time, supports EVM and Web3 with novel optimizations to provide higher throughput, and also provides new channels for one to invite more users to join Bitcoin Cash's ecosystem.

Where is the high performance compute in Arweave? It's storage-only. Same as Filecoin, Sia, Storj, etc.

They're decentralized storage protocols. You can do that with a hard drive in your pocket. Compute requires bandwidth, networking, security, etc. Its data centers. Not spare servers and spare laptops. A different game none of them can play unless they upgrade the economic models of their protocols to support the capex intense nature of high performance compute.

Store is building a different world.

Ethereum itself can be used as a decentralized storage system, and in fact it is when it comes to code storage in all the smart contracts.
When it comes to large amounts of data, however, that isn't what the system is designed for.
At the time of writing, the Ethereum chain is around 350GB, and every node on the network needs to be able to store all 350GB of data.
If the chain were to expand to large amounts of data (say 5TBs) it wouldn't be feasible for all nodes to continue to run.
Also, this can get incredibly expensive to deploy new data due to the size.

Due to these constraints, we need a different chain or methodology to storing large amounts of data in a decentralized manner.

When looking at decentralized storage (dStorage) options, there are a few things a user must keep in mind.

Persistence mechanism / incentive structure
Data retention enforcement
Decentrality
Consensus

Instead of explaining Bitcoin to Aunt Becky I upload our picture onto the Arweave network and explain to her that I can pay to store this picture on the network using a credit or “token”.
I let her know that to store the 1MB picture it cost me only .04 USD.
The picture can never be deleted and it will only be seen by those I choose to give the link to ( I chose the private file option on Ardrive).
She can now open the link from any device around the world that has access to the internet.
The file will always be there, so if 100 years from now both myself and Aunt Becky are gone — our relatives will still be able to see that photo of us. This is possible because the money (or tokens) paid to the network to store the data is shared by participating computers all over the world that store the data.
The network participants are rewarded by a fund (a perpetual endowment) built into the system for providing access to and storing the data.

Yesterday, pro-democracy Hong Kong news outlet Apple Daily was forced to close.

But not before activists in Hong Kong uploaded much of its contents to Arweave.

You can read about it in CNBC, Reuters, etc.:


10,000 pages and other assets from Apple Daily are now stored permanently on the Arweave network.

They are being mirrored across ~1,000 nodes, distributed globally.

Mining Arweave now means replicating these records of history.

They will not be forgotten.


Meanwhile, a new effort to archive The Stand News, a non-profit pro-democracy paper in Hong Kong, is already beginning. The archive is large — costing ~3,000 AR to store.

On the opening page the first coin i mention is ANKR...even though its not a B3 coin..it provides an important service for B3 chains.

Arweave is probably even more important for the next gen highly scalable B3 chains.

Solana is getting a new NFT marketplace called Metaplex.
The platform will allow creators to mint and sell non-fungible tokens through an easy-to-use marketplace.
Most NFTs live on Ethereum today, but the expense of the chain could help the space flourish on Solana.

Any NFTs minted through Metaplex will be stored on Arweave, which backs data with perpetual payments for a one-off fee.
This will enable creators to receive automatic payouts.



Raj Gokal, COO of Solana Labs and strategic advisor to Metaplex, explained how building on Solana will allow Metaplex to overcome many of the challenges associated with the NFT space today. He said:

“Building on a foundation of the Solana protocol and Arweave, Metaplex is able to dramatically reduce minting and trading fees. The launch of a Solana-based NFT platform will help accelerate the pace of innovation we’re seeing in the space by providing an easy to use and more economically viable platform that can better serve both the creators and their communities.”
