Personally,I believe that blockchain technology into vote polling will not be implemented because it will only worse the condition of politicians
blockchain makes everything transparent so it will be a useful tool if implemendted on voting/elections not just on politics industry but also on almost anything so that all are going to be fair  . the one that will only said that blockchain can worsen the condition/situation are the one's that hide something and they are afraid to get exposed and caught on the act .

blockchain and cryptos are really the future and both technology can be really verry useful in the future as it can solved many problems

New coins will emerge, other coins will fail making it until 2030. Blockchain technology will be adopted by most countries (if not, probably the developed countries while developing countries will soon adopt it also) since blockchain can be used in different field and would be use in other functions that can help in developing a countries economy. Something that might surprise us... Other coin dominating the market. I am not saying that bitcoin would fail but there's always a possibility of something new could replace bitcoin.

in the future, I believe that blockchain is a technology that has value compared to other cryptocurrency because its base makes bitcoin optimal with blockchain technology, and many other features of blockchain that trust people in the future and can trade 24 hours and blockchain users can also access complete transaction information.

don't confuse "blockchain" with "cryptocurrency". blockchain is simply a "chain of blocks" and it will continue to look exactly the same. there will be blocks that will be "linked" together, one after another line a chain using some cryptography function which is usually a 256-bit hash function.
that is the cryptocurrencies that are using that chain like a database and keep on changing. it is not possible to predict how they will look like because you are asking us to predict what innovation is going to happen, if we could predict the "innovation" then we would have innovated it ourselves!

Thanks for making this clear, people always mistake blockchain for cryptocurrency forgetting that it is just a node of data storage ledgers which provides a decentralized space where all data can be access by any connected pc to the network. Blockchain is a peer to peer connected computers that stores data.  There are a lot government institutions that use blockchain for data storage. In fact, centralized institutions usually perfer using blockchain for their data storage. The only future i see blockchain is massive adoption of it for data storage.
Yes, since we are talking about Blockchain rather than cryptos, we can just assume that cryptos will still be out there, but it's unfair to focus on them, not without a fair explanation of why this will be the major way of using Blockchain. I think that Blockchain will become widely adopted for ticket purchases, elections, perhaps keeping track of medical records and other sensitive data. It will probably also be used by banks that will make their own tokens simply to benefit from cheap transactions (you exchange fiat 1 for token, and then token for fiat 2, which is faster and cheaper for international transfers).
Personally,I believe that blockchain technology into vote polling will not be implemented because it will only worse the condition of politicians and they are in the place to implement it,otherwise banks already started using it for transaction but not in widely adopted range.

Other application I am stronhly believe to be implemented by most of the government is for national identity storafe purpose so we can retrive the data whenever we want and also it will be helpful to restrict identity theft by unknown members.

Some interesting applications are already in processing of many different countries can be found here https://blockgeeks.com/guides/blockchain-applications/

Now they are trying to apply Blockchain technology in many areas, from data storage databases to reporting on election results, we can only imagine what will happen in the future

Before 2030, shitcoins and useless ICO would have faded away and stop been existing in the market. Only the strong use case of great project that has real time adoption will ever survive the market.
The government should have adopted blockchain in their defense system, financial system and most important in voting. We see a bright future for blockchain engineers in this industry, they should be the next world billionaires.

Lets get a High IQ thread going here.

What will blockchain look like in 2030? What will have failed? What will still be in existence? What portion of govs will utilize the blockchain? What things do you think will happen that might surprise us?
Blockchain has been known for its sophisticated technology and its unravelling use in so many aspects. Probably, in 2030 blockchain is already on the mainstream and is very indemand in many ways. If my prediction will be right, the economy will have a big progress and already saved lots of money because of being free from any kind of counterfeits that has been stealing money from the government for faking products from foods to medical supplies and diamonds, blockchain has the ability to ensure the security of those and could help the global economy save the $600 billion being stole annually

So we are almost in the midway since blockchain technology's inception and 2030 which by far, I would assume that when that time comes, most industries including the Governments were already applying it to their existing systems and methodologies, - in a process call blockchainization.

Take the case in my country, where almost other Government agencies has a different set of records be it on a person's identity or civil registry, medical records, tax records, vehicle registration records, etc,(most information systems are not integrated) - which makes it very redundant and costly to maintain the records integrity. I think when all this data is blockchainized, the Government can really save a lot of money and resources and aside from that, their will be a high degree of transparency which is badly needed right now to radically minimize any form of fraud and corruption!

So far, I guess it will only take for us a leader that has the political will to implement this disruptive technology in the future. Hopefully soon!

What will blockchain look like in 2030?

A vague question will have a vague answer. No one really knows. But I hope its gonna stay the same or something better than what it is now.

Quote
What will have failed?

A lot of projects have already failed. Lots of attempts that many people/businesses didn't think through, just people who are joining the hype train.

Quote
What will still be in existence?

Of course, Bitcoin will still exist by this timeline. I just guessing here but that's 11 years we're talking about. I don't know, maybe some significant/relevant people will..... you know. I not being rude here just saying, anything can happen.

Quote
What portion of govs will utilize the blockchain?

The government need to implement this technology ASAP like seriously, some government facilities still have a very old system to use, record, portray data.

What things do you think will happen that might surprise us?

I'm considering myself a gamer (probably). So I'm thinking of making an even more exposure to Gaming Community, I know they already do. But the future of Gaming is really something. Lots of other big businesses are investing in E-Sports, so adding the spice of this technology is gonna be more interesting.

It's really a High IQ thread because you are going to say about the future which is the long way. If you say about 2030, I must say that Bitcoin will dominate in the monetary system, Also Ethereum will work very promptly when people will get a lot of access to pay their payment or Bill by this cryptocurrency. Hopefully, a large number of cryptocurrencies will be here available and Cryptocurrency will be the mainstream of the monetary platform. Not only that but also the Government will take it into consideration for using it very fruitfully. From my perception, Blockchain and Cryptocurrency will be a vital platform in the coming future.

This question certainly depends on what nation you are focusing on. In 2030 I expect Blockchain technology to begin flourishing in many countries similarly to the nation of Estonia. Today in time, Estonia's government has begun to embrace and implement the workings of Blockchain, and its benefits, into the structure of their democracy and their political foundation.

i am very optimistic about the future of blockchain to boom like no other thing in the world most especially by year 2030 almost every where in the world would be fulling in blockchain but the view will be the illiterate in the mix who in other hands cant use phone or are uneducated.

Blockchain is the inevitable end with the loss of trust in the governors of countries and the loss of trust in bank systems. I think it will be used in elections very soon. The future is definitely on the blockchain.

Blockchain will take over the Data Bases systems... Any process who involves a database will be done with blockchain, because the way blockchain uses to deal with a lot of information is the revolutionary step. So, i think in 2030 SQL and other databases systems will be obsolete and will be replaced with blockchain.

I think Blockchain technology will be at the top. Bitcoin will be the strongest cryptocurrency and payment method. Governments will have given up competing against Bitcoin and most of the governments will have legalized Bitcoin by 2030.

In 2030 there will be adoption of blockchain at its peak ranging form health and hospital records to other aspect of the global industry. The use case of blockchain technology will be embraced. However for cryptocurrencies their is high tendencies of it being regulated by then
That will be a very  long period according to you but, base on my experience 2020 will be a year for Blockchain expo. Many company and countries have already be aware of the potentials in Blockchain, they want the transparency of the Blockchain. Let wait for 2020, Blockchain will be the talk of the year and not far 2030.
