Blockchain technology is compromised and hackers are working hard at getting access to people's hard earned cryptocurrencies. Yesterday I was lucky to be a part of a very innovative webinar with Mr Lance Parker, Founder and CEO at ConnectX. They offer a highly secure transmitting process and wallet storage that is highly secure without the use of the internet. Find out more on  www.connectx.com/webinar

Are you interested in BTC for the mere fact that the price has been going up since its inception and you think it will enable to make a huge profit or you are interested because you know that the technology behind BTC (blockchain) will change the way the financial world works?

Came for the profits, stayed for the technology. First I completely dismissed Bitcoin. Then its price increase made me re-evaluate my assumptions. And then I got utterly hooked on the technology and its ecosystem. Once I understood what Bitcoin was all about it was the first technology to excite me for years. So I got in. And now I'm here. Watching either one of mankind's greatest achievements or biggest flukes unfold.

I have to say though that the blockchain is one of the least interesting aspect of cryptocurrencies. Reaching decentralized consensus despite conflicting incentives is what makes it revolutionary. Stripping the consensus aspect apparently makes it easier to repackage and sell however, not sure if this way of thinking is going to lead anywhere useful though.

I think this will be profitable, blockchain technology is one of the elements exist bitcoin so much in demand and won the trust of the world community, because the level of security is high. about price rises and price reductions I do not think it's absolute because of blockchain, blockchain plays a role in helping bitcoin stay and move on. and we can not completely rely on it, but have to see and observe the changes that occur in the market, because there are times when people can get stuck because they do not know the time and the right opportunity to choose and make a profit. at least blockchain has contributed a lot to change the way finance work in the world making it more productive, time-saving and easy.

Blockchain technology is a revolution in our century. Even if the price of bitcoin plummets down to the very bottom I would still be interested to use it. Real life scenarios where you can use bitcoin without showing your identity are a lot. In this age that we are living full of technology safeguarding your identity is top priority as if not safeguarded as you should hackers can get it and use it for evil purposes. Whenever you enter your email in every website you register for a service there is a high risk your email is immediately send to spammers who have paid for collecting email addresses. Blockchain technology and bitcoin does this, give you a upper hand in safeguarding your identity while transacting with bitcoin and cryptos that are based on blockchain technology.

Calling it a speculation looks dumb to me after this technology has been proving itself during these last 8-9 years.

I agree that calling it speculation looks dumb at this stage  but most of the people that got in since last Dec are in for pure speculation purposes.

I'm really curious about how many people actually understand how this technology works.
So, to answer your question, I think most are here for the increase.

Blockchain has a lot of potentials, it's not just bitcoin but there are many other altcoins using its own modified blockchain.
The first time I knew about bitcoin which meant to be an alternative currency, it's amazing technology and considers the price as the potential of bitcoin as a better monetary system. People are used to the advantages of bitcoin but it has changed since more adopters get into crypto-world.
Blockchain simply can't afford too many transactions in every second which is an indication more people attracted to bitcoin right now, but on the other side, it makes bitcoin lose the utility appeal since we have to pay higher fees and waiting for a long time for the transaction to be confirmed. Most people get into bitcoin because of the price and treat it as speculative object to make money.

Both. Even tho I've been here since before the price rocketed up.
And as they say that Bitcoin is a "revolutionary" online currency that, instead I want to be the first one to know, understand, and use it. Frankly, the profit part doesn't actually affect me on my interest to this world. I mean despite the fact that price has always been going up, what can you really expect from it?

Thanks Jeremy! What if the price of BTC plummets down, would you still be interested in learning more and more about the technology behind it? Also, what other industries do you see BTC taking over?
